ALulu lowered her head: "They do indeed inspire awe in many people."
"Why are you here alone?" Li Ang asked, fanning himself in the hot inn.
"I sneaked out."
Ah, this guy...
"I needed money. Passing by that arena, I saw they said the winner could take all the wealth, so I went there."
Dorothy said, "Aren’t the teachings against seeking external wealth?"
"If it’s earned through one’s own efforts, it should be fine, right?" ALulu said, not very confidently.
Li Ang almost dared to confirm that she actually didn’t understand the teachings.
From what it seems, even if she hasn’t revealed her age, it’s not hard to know she’s young. It’s normal to have some misunderstandings.
But could she really practice to become a Level 3 Paladin with just her brute force? Li Ang would believe she was a Transcendent Realm Warrior, but a Paladin?
"Then, after I fought, as I was hiding the money, I saw that group extorting people, so I kept reprimanding them."
"Did you really fight your way from the other side of the market?" Li Ang’s eye twitched a little.
"Yes."
Well, alright then.
When Li Ang entered, he ordered some dishes at the inn’s counter. Although the main course wasn’t ready yet, a plate of snacks was brought over.
These snacks were crispy hollow balls, filled with various sugary fillings, some similar to light cream, others with syrup.
"Why are you short of money?" Zoe asked.
Even though she was a complete wild child on Satus Island, having obtained the gemstones produced by the Earth Serpent along with following Eden and Li Ang, she never experienced poverty and had no concept of money.
Zoe was grabbing the crispy balls and popping them into her mouth one by one, while Li Ang saw ALulu visibly swallow, even hearing a loud gulp.
Perhaps that’s one reason.
In the Wotam Church Country, the Defender Knights Order... there were indeed strong individuals at or above the Excellence Realm. They could even go to the Demon Disaster Realm to spread their teachings.
Unlike the faith that changes slightly when spreading to other Aerial Realms, the faith in the Church Country adheres to the original doctrine, including desire restraint and the need for mental and physical asceticism.
"I, I... followers of the Goddess cannot lie, cannot ignore their own conscience."
ALulu hesitated for a moment, as if using the teachings to motivate herself, then revealed the truth.
"The teacher who raised me passed away. I want to build a better grave for him, but they all say he should be buried in the wild, so he can return to the embrace of the Goddess better."
Burial in the wild is considered one of the most primitive burial customs among the Wotam Sect Members. It’s already unheard of in developed areas like the Ignis Sky Realm, as in reality it’s no different from abandoning a corpse in the wilderness.
Li Ang always thought such burials were a way of making the harsh times of not being able to properly bury people sound better and then the practice got passed down.
Wait, why is it so hot inside this inn?
Li Ang glanced around and found that some of the customers, even the owner, were fanning themselves in the heat.
"I must earn enough money quickly." ALulu clenched her small fists.
Zoe patted her emotionally: "I have money, I’ll give it to you."
Zoe seemed ready to summon the Earth Serpent to spit out gemstones.
"No, I cannot accept alms from others except for food."
ALulu stood up: "I have to go, thank you for not blaming me."
"That gang of sky pirates, conflict is likely inevitable," Li Ang said, fanning himself.
The so-called "Platinum King summoned to maintain order" seemed ridiculous, along with the strange demon dragon transformation and the Defender Knight Order tracking a murderer... the Flashing Field might not be peaceful.
ALulu seemed simple-minded at the moment, but kind-hearted. Zoe responded to her kindness by charging out, while Li Ang, now able to cut through the entire island with just the Silver Heart Sword, didn’t want to resent the girls’ goodwill and turn them into calculating people over petty gains.
In this sky, instead of compromising, it’s better to gather like-minded companions.
The waiter served the dishes, honey-glazed roast meat sizzling with oil, and the stewed soup giving off a fragrant spice aroma.
Gurgling—
ALulu’s stomach growled. She hesitated to take the step she was about to.
"Sit down and eat with us," Li Ang smiled, "You just said it’s okay to accept food."
"Re-really?" ALulu twisted her fingers around.
"Come on, come on."
Zoe pulled her down: "I think we’re already friends."
"Thank you all."
ALulu thanked in a soft milk-like voice.
She raised her hand and untied the white cloth covering her face.
"Huh? Weren’t you going to keep your face covered?" Zoe asked.
"Well, it’s actually because I’m afraid my companions would say something, so I covered it."
"It’s okay, no need to hide anything in front of us," Zoe said.
As the white cloth came off, a small and lovely face appeared before the three of them.
She wasn’t as exquisitely charming as Zoe, nor as elegant and beautiful as Dorothy, like a Forest Fairy, she was more like the girl-next-door who hadn’t yet grown up—simply put, "very young."
She had small, wavy, curly pink long hair tied in two strands hanging in front, adding a cute and friendly appeal.
"Wow, you’re so cute."
Zoe couldn’t help but hug her, while Li Ang quickly told her to lower her voice, so as not to attract the attention of others in the inn.
Dorothy nodded in agreement: "Cute little Doraf race sister, how old are you?"
"Fifteen."
"Same age as me," Zoe said happily, "But you look younger than me."
"That’s because of her race," Li Ang said.
Li Ang, familiar with the features of the Horned Race, knew her height and appearance were basically set at this stage, although some parts might still grow.
He was referring to the horns on her head, what did you think?
After unwrapping the face cloth, ALulu also began to untie the cloth wrapped around her body.
"Wait—" Dorothy attempted to stop her immediately, but it was too late.
In an instant, like snow-capped mountains rising from the earth during tectonic movements, indescribably abundant fullness defied gravity, and the thin straps connected to tiny pieces of fabric around her slender neck could barely contain the inhumanly plentiful results. The richness seemed ready to overflow at any time.
Li Ang felt like he was in a furnace.
Not because of a restless feeling upon seeing something even Eden couldn’t compare to, nor because of the slightly interrogative gaze Zoe and Dorothy gave him.
Simply because, it was genuinely hot.
ALulu radiated heat like a furnace.
The heat also touched Zoe and Dorothy, spreading around and making the inn’s manager shout: "Hey, what did you bring in here?! Don’t start a fire in my shop!"
Li Ang quickly appeased the manager, giving him some money and ordering iced drinks to make him drop the issue.
"Sorry for causing trouble, Zoe said I could be casual, so I thought I could relax a bit, but it’s really hot that way."
ALulu lowered her head, her abundance shaking. Her delicate skin was like rain-soaked, with streams flowing through snowy mountain valleys. Some pink strands clung to her flushed cheeks.
"Y-y-y-you’re large, but why not wear more—no, why wear so little?" Dorothy pulled open a cloak to cover ALulu, speaking incoherently.
Under the strips of cloth, ALulu was only wearing two very small pieces of fabric. Li Ang didn’t know where to look. An average Horned Race individual could never reach this level.
"Why are you so hot?" Zoe asked in amazement, inspecting with curiosity.
"It’s natural, I don’t know, I’ve never been afraid of the cold, only the heat.
"The teachings say to dress appropriately, so I wear what’s most comfortable for me, but the other followers always blame me for inappropriate conduct, and my companions usually make me cover up."
This... It indeed needs covering, even if it’s a natural trait, but still needs coverage.
This... it indeed needs some covering, though it’s natural, some things need to be covered, even if it’s genetic.
Li Ang had always thought, as a Paladin, she should be trustworthy, so he was a bit disappointed that his companions couldn’t recruit her.
This time the Head would swell.
Li Ang, once thinking he could believe in her as a serious person if she was truly a Paladin, was now aware of the big new problems she would bring if she were to be recruited. Her understanding of the world seemed a little flawed, both in external awareness and self-awareness. li Ang knew her inclusion in the team would not make heads turn, but rather, it would create larger problems.
The server served the dishes, honey-roasted meat sizzling with oil, stewed soup releasing a delicious aroma of spices.
Growl—
ALulu’s stomach made a sound. She hesitated to step forward.
"Sit down and eat with us." Li Ang smiled, "You can accept food, as you just said."
"Re-really? Is it okay?" ALulu twirled her fingertips nervously.
"Come on, come on."
Zoe warmly pulled her down: "I think we’re already friends."
"Thank you, everyone."
ALulu thanked softly with a milky voice.
She raised her hand and untied the white cloth on her face.
"Oh? Weren’t you going to cover your face?" Zoe asked.
"Uh, actually, I was just afraid of what my companions might say, so I covered it."
Among us, you don’t need to hide, do what you like and just be yourself," Zoe said.
As the white cloth was unwrapped, a small, lovely face appeared before the three of them.
She didn’t have Zoe’s delicate touch of charm, nor was she as elegant and attractive as Dorothy, like a neighborly young sister—simply put, "very young-looking."
She had small, wavy, curly pink hair, tied in two strands that hung in front, giving her a kind of cute and approachable vibe.
"Wow, you’re so cute."
Zoe couldn’t help but hug her, while Li Ang quickly asked her to keep the noise down and not attract the attention of the other guests, drawing some intent looks from those around.
Dorothy nodded in agreement, "Cute little Doraf girl, how old are you?"
"Fifteen," she said.
"That’s the same age as me," said Zoe happily, "But you’re smaller than me."
"It’s because of my race," said ALulu.
Li Ang, knowing the appearance traits of the Horned Race, understood that her height and looks were essentially set as they were now, though some aspects might still grow a bit larger in the future.
