"Please, Elder Qing Xuan, don’t do this!"
A dignified elder bowing to her, how could she possibly accept such a gesture?
Qing Ping Fairy lightly pressed her charming lips, quickly shaking her head, "I no longer resent Senior Brother Qin, it’s all... in the past."
Elder Qing Xuan’s face was full of guilt, and he sighed heavily, "Overall, it is my fault; you two were meant to be together, but it has come to this. As an elder, I have a responsibility."
Qing Ping Fairy was silent; with Elder Qing Xuan personally apologizing, much of the resentment in her heart dissipated.
Elder Qing Xuan said dejectedly, "I have severely reprimanded Zusheng over there; since losing you, his mental state is quite poor, as if lost and utterly dejected. As an elder, I truly feel terrible. If possible, Niece Qing Ping, can I shamelessly beg you to go see him?"
"Right now, Zusheng really needs someone to cheer him up; he no longer listens to my words, only you can make him better," Elder Qing Xuan said earnestly.
Qing Ping Fairy’s heart was bitter as she gently shook her head, "If Senior Brother Qin truly cared about me, he wouldn’t have gambled with me back then. Now, Qing Ping and Senior Brother Qin have nothing to do with each other. My words, he also won’t listen, so Elder, please forgive Qing Ping’s powerlessness."
Having said that, Qing Ping Fairy turned to leave.
Elder Qing Xuan’s eyes flickered, his tone shifted, and he sighed, "Niece Qing Ping, consider it my plea. Regardless of its effect, can you try going? You two have known each other for years, don’t you really have the heart to see Zusheng fall into ruin?"
Qing Ping Fairy’s delicate body trembled; people aren’t unfeeling like grass and wood.
No matter how poorly the Unrivaled Young Emperor treated her, they were engaged and spent four or five years together.
After years together, even a dog would have feelings, let alone the man she once always admired?
A hint of struggle flashed in her eyes, and after a moment, she lightly sighed, "Fine, I will go see him, but Elder, don’t have too much hope; Senior Brother Qin might not want to see me at all."
Elder Qing Xuan internally smirked, a trace of malicious victory flashing in his eyes.
As long as Yu Qing Ping hadn’t completely given up on Qin Zucheng, things would be easy.
Once in the Young Emperor Mansion, he had ways to make Qing Ping Fairy comply; once the deed was done, she couldn’t escape.
In this way, Qin Zucheng not only could recover his cultivation using her Primordial Yin, but might also use her to scheme against Ling Feng, truly killing two birds with one stone.
Thinking of this, Elder Qing Xuan couldn’t help but reveal a sly smile, although his words were extremely kind, "Niece, rest assured. Zusheng now understands, his heart and mind are all thinking of you. If you go, he’ll certainly perk back up."
Pausing, Elder Qing Xuan continued, "Niece Qing Ping, if Zusheng truly repents and wholeheartedly treats you in the future, can you forgive him and forget the past?"
Qing Ping Fairy’s heart trembled, remaining silent.
"I... I don’t know."
Qing Ping Fairy bit her tender lips; how could a heart that had been hurt heal easily?
Seeing Qing Ping Fairy’s hesitant and conflicted appearance, Elder Qing Xuan rejoiced internally; perhaps without resorting to those unsavory methods, Yu Qing Ping and Qin Zucheng could reconcile.
After all, the family behind Qing Ping Fairy was quite remarkable as well; if she willingly married Qin Zucheng, it would be perfect.
"People are not saints; everyone makes mistakes. Zusheng was young and proud, neglecting you and making you suffer. Can you give him another chance to change?"
Elder Qing Xuan spoke earnestly, "That letter of divorce was merely a whim of Zusheng, anyone can see you two are the perfect pair; please don’t take it seriously."
Under Elder Qing Xuan’s persistent psychological pressure, Qing Ping Fairy began to waver.
"If Niece can forgive Zusheng this once, I... I..."
Seeing matters about to resolve successfully, Elder Qing Xuan gritted his teeth, pretending to go down on his knees.
Qing Ping Fairy was startled, quickly supporting Elder Qing Xuan, "Elder, what... what are you doing?"
Elder Qing Xuan looked mournful and pleading, tears brimming in his eyes, "Niece, you know I have no child of my own. I treat Zusheng as if he were my own, and now his spirit is down; as his elder, how can I bear to watch him continue like this?"
"Niece, if Zusheng agrees to change, can you return to him? Consider this old man’s plea!" Elder Qing Xuan’s emotions seemed genuine, his words sincere, nothing false about them.
Qing Ping Fairy, appearing cold yet in reality a person warm inside, was greatly vulnerable to such tactics, suddenly losing her composure, hurriedly saying, "Elder, please stand up, a disciple cannot bear this."
"Niece, I know you’re a good child who cherishes old feelings. If you don’t agree, this old body of mine will stay kneeling here!"
Elder Qing Xuan exclaimed with great excitement.
Qing Ping Fairy, anxious and flustered, seeing Elder Qing Xuan truly going down to kneel, quickly said, "Fine, fine... I promise you, if Senior Brother Qin truly repents."
Elder Qing Xuan coldly smiled inside, yet outwardly showed a tearful, grateful expression, "Really? You truly are willing to reconsider?"
Qing Ping Fairy, nodded helplessly.
"Good! Good!" Elder Qing Xuan laughed heartily, "You truly are a good child! I’ll thank Zusheng on behalf of you first. With you by his side, he will certainly pull himself together."
Qing Ping Fairy lightly pursed her delicate lips, even though she agreed to Elder Qing Xuan, her heart was completely mixed up. She didn’t know whether agreeing was right or wrong.
The image of Ling Feng flashed involuntarily in her mind.
The person in her heart, was it still Qin Zucheng?
Elder Qing Xuan feared something might change, so he seized the opportunity, his face solemn as he said, "Niece, for now, let me hold onto that divorce letter for you. Rest assured, if Zusheng ever dares to treat you poorly, you won’t even have to say a word; I won’t tolerate that brat! I will surely make the divorce letter public, ensuring that brat never bothers you again in this lifetime."
Divorce letter? Qing Ping Fairy hesitated slightly.
Vaguely, she seemed to sense something. Although she was emotional, she wasn’t a fool.
Once this divorce letter is destroyed, she would forever remain the fiancée of the Unrivaled Young Emperor.
"Forget it, forget it, it’s my fault for this incident. It’s only reasonable that my niece doesn’t trust me," Elder Qing Xuan said with a bitter smile.
Upon hearing these words, Qing Ping Fairy quickly shook her head and took out the divorce letter, "No, Elder, you are of high moral standing, how could I doubt you? I’ll entrust this divorce letter to your care."
A great relief settled in Elder Qing Xuan’s heart, this woman wouldn’t escape Five-finger Mountain!
His aged face, full of deep satisfaction, "Good! This was all a misunderstanding; it was that brat Ling Feng that caused trouble! Rest assured, that brat will sooner or later receive his due punishment!"
As he spoke, Elder Qing Xuan’s eyes flashed with a chill, a murderous intent glimmered briefly.
"Alright, give me the divorce letter, then let’s go see that child Zusheng," Elder Qing Xuan said with a smile.
However, just as his hand was about to grab the divorce letter, Qing Ping Fairy took several steps back, her expression turning bleak, and she coldly stared at Elder Qing Xuan.
"Niece Qing Ping, what is this?"
Elder Qing Xuan was confused, a sense of foreboding surged within him, as if he had spoken words he shouldn’t have.
Qing Ping Fairy’s expression grew colder, "Elder, you say all this was incited by Ling Feng? These words, Senior Brother Qin told you, right?"
"This..."
Elder Qing Xuan’s eyelids twitched slightly, thinking to himself, could it be this woman has truly fallen for Ling Feng?
"Humph! He hasn’t repented at all!"
Qing Ping Fairy, for a moment caught by Elder Qing Xuan’s psychological flaw, was led by his nose, but she wasn’t stupid.
With a careless remark from Elder Qing Xuan, she caught a whiff of something wrong.
If Qin Zucheng truly repented, he should examine his own faults, not simply slander Ling Feng.
In fact, she felt immensely grateful to Ling Feng for helping her see the true face of Qin Zucheng.
Also, back at East Immortal River, if it weren’t for Ling Feng, she wouldn’t know how many times she might have died!
Therefore, she would never allow anyone to slander Ling Feng, nor let anyone cause harm to Ling Feng.
Now, she fully understood, Elder Qing Xuan wanted the divorce letter just to bind her with the marriage contract, and ultimately, under family pressure from both sides, how could she not marry Qin Zucheng?
Such a cunning old man!
Qing Ping Fairy cursed inwardly, withdrew the divorce letter, no longer showing any pleasant demeanor, she simply turned and left.
Elder Qing Xuan wished he could slap himself for saying one bad thing about Ling Feng, causing all his efforts to go to waste!
"Niece, niece! Zusheng truly needs you now, will you let him sink into despair?"
Elder Qing Xuan tried to use his old trick again, but was coldly interrupted by Qing Ping Fairy, "From the moment he took out the divorce letter, I’ve had nothing to do with him! Elder Qing Xuan, I respect you as my elder, but if you still have any dignity, you should just shut up!"
Having said that, Qing Ping Fairy left without turning back.
Originally, she still had a little sympathy for the Young Emperor, but due to Elder Qing Xuan’s schemes, Qing Ping Fairy was completely disheartened!
"Damn girl!"
Elder Qing Xuan trembled with anger, took a deep breath and said coldly, "Since soft ways don’t work, we’ll try hard ways! I refuse to believe you’ll never leave the sect! Humph!"
