In the bedroom.
On the large bed.
Yu Anni lay there like a delicate crystal doll, quietly sleeping, motionless.
Creak—
But at this moment.
A tall and imposing figure pushed the door open and entered.
His movements were mechanical as he walked to Yu Anni’s bedside and swiftly threw off her blanket!
"Ah!"
The cold air instantly invaded her body!
Yu Anni opened her eyes in terror—
The scene before her!
Made her heart pound and her face turn pale:
"Mr. Lin, what are you doing?!"
"Hehe! What do you think?"
Lin Lang sneered, moving closer.
His strong arms pinned her firmly on the bed!
Then he lowered his head to kiss her small mouth!
Hungrily savoring that intoxicating taste.
No matter how Yu Anni struggled, it was futile...
"Ah!"
Yu Anni suddenly opened her eyes and sat up!
In the empty bedroom.
Her gaze was suspicious and uncertain for a long time.
Until she finally realized.
It was just a nightmare...
"Sigh!"
She held her forehead and sighed.
"It’s all because of those people! Talking about drugging, scared me to death!"
"Haha! How could Mr. Lin be that kind of person?"
Her expression gradually relaxed.
But recalling the absurd dream just now.
She felt a faint sense of regret—
Did she wake up too soon?
Who knows.
If that dream continued.
What would have happened?
...
But at this moment.
She suddenly noticed—
The bedroom door she had clearly locked before sleeping!
Now there was a faint light coming through the door crack!
The door had been opened!
Someone had really entered!
Moreover!
She sensed.
That "person" was standing in some dark corner of the bedroom!
She immediately felt her hair stand on end!
After swallowing a gulp, she tentatively asked:
"Mr. Lin, is that you?"
Her heart pounded violently!
Her eyes scanned the surroundings.
And only at the window, she found a blurry shadow!
It was just a shadow.
As if a misty glass separated them...
Clearly in front of her, but no matter how she looked!
She couldn’t see it clearly...
And that shadow.
Suddenly turned its head!
Fixing its gaze on her—
"Ah!"
Yu Anni screamed in shock!
...
2102.
Yu Anni’s scream upstairs.
Awakened everyone in every room!
Among them!
Leng Wei reacted extremely quickly!
She threw off her blanket, simultaneously drew out a long knife from the bedside, and jumped out the window!
Using the big tree outside the window as leverage, she leaped into room 2202!
...
At this moment.
The light in Gu Fei and others’ bedroom had just turned on.
They went to the living room, looking at each other with panic:
"What happened?"
...
Leng Wei barged into Yu Anni’s room.
And saw in the deep darkness.
Several misty figures were closing in on Yu Anni!
In an instant, she swung her knife!
But the blade passed through those figures!
"Hmm?"
Those people weren’t physical entities?!
Her expression slightly changed!
But she subconsciously associated it with the word "phantom"!
Is there really such a thing as spirits in this world?
...
"Ah!"
The utterly terrified Yu Anni hid under the covers!
Trying to give herself a sense of security!
Yet she could clearly perceive.
They were still approaching her!
And extending their dark, withered hands, mouths opening and closing:
"Give it to me! Give it to me!"
...
Just when Yu Anni was about to lose her mind from fear!
A powerful voice echoed in all directions:
"What dares to act so boldly here?!"
Streams of purple spiritual energy flew out!
Accurately hitting those grayish figures!
Accompanied by sharp howls!
The shadows finally dissipated into the darkness!
...
The next moment!
Snap!
The bedroom light turned on.
Light instantly filled this space, dispelling the bone-chilling cold.
Leng Wei looked up.
Lin Lang stood at the door with a serious expression.
Gu Fei, Ning Shuangyu, Lü Su Ran, Tang Lingyu.
Had rushed to catch up.
They were still wearing pajamas:
"What happened?"
Lü Su Ran’s face was pale, and she put her hand over her heart.
...
Leng Wei looked down and realized, she was also wearing pajamas!
And the pajamas had pink bunny patterns on them!
Her face flushed slightly and she said:
"Just now, there were a few shadowy figures in Annie’s room, but they disappeared in an instant..."
"Huh?"
All the women were surprised.
"Wah!"
At this moment.
Yu Anni jumped out of the blankets and threw herself into Lin Lang’s arms, sobbing:
"Ghosts! This place is haunted! Boohoohoo..."
Upon hearing this.
Gu Fei and the others immediately turned pale!
"Haunted?"
Lü Su Ran gasped, a chill spreading from the soles of her feet to the top of her head!
Causing her to instinctively grab Gu Fei’s arm beside her.
Leng Wei, however, frowned slightly and looked at Lin Lang with a puzzled expression.
Truth be told!
She suspected that everything just now was constructed by Lin Lang’s illusion realm!
Lin Lang’s "illusion realm" ability.
She had experienced it before.
Though she felt it was a bit dull...
But seeing Yu Anni at this moment, wearing a diaphanous silk nightgown, with two voluptuous, rounded breasts pressed against Lin Lang’s chest.
She thought again.
For this reason alone, Lin Lang might indeed be this ridiculous.
...
Lin Lang seemed to know what Leng Wei was thinking and said helplessly:
"It’s not me."
Everyone looked at him.
Lin Lang, however, grabbed Yu Anni’s hand, probing his divine sense into her body, and simultaneously used the Eye of Destiny ability—
He meticulously examined every inch of Yu Anni’s body!
And then raised his eyebrows—
He discovered a small black dot at Yu Anni’s dantian.
It seemed like just a speck of dirt!
But that speck of dirt!
Was now emitting an almost imperceptible wisp of black gas!
This black gas.
Lin Lang had seen just yesterday—
It was the black gas emitting from the pond deep in the woods beside Yu Anni’s residence, Brocade Cloud Residence!
But how could that black gas exist in Yu Anni’s body?
Lin Lang asked Yu Anni:
"Where does the water you usually drink come from?"
Yu Anni sobbed:
"There’s a natural pond next to Brocade Cloud Residence, said to be rich in minerals and beneficial to the body; our community’s drinking water is drawn from there... But before I drink it, I always purify it with a water filter!"
"Then it’s no wonder."
Lin Lang had the answer in his heart.
If that evil thing could also be filtered by the purifier, it would utterly disgrace the evil spirits.
Thinking about it.
The stuff in the pond used this method to spread this evil energy to nearby residents!
Though the essence of this evil energy is unknown!
But clearly!
Those shadows were very interested in it!
And those shadows.
Should be the aggregation of some nearby evil auras...
...
"This place is haunted! I want to go home!"
Yu Anni lay crying endlessly in Lin Lang’s arms.
Clearly frightened!
This reaction was quite normal.
For anyone else, encountering such an event, not being scared to death would be fortunate!
Lin Lang patted her back, comforting her:
"There’s evil qi in your body that attracted these unclean things."
"And the source of this evil qi is that small pond next to your home."
"If you return now, you might be in even greater danger."
Yu Anni was indeed profoundly frightened.
Yet her psychological resilience was formidable.
After hearing Lin Lang’s persuasion, she gradually calmed down.
But she was still despondent:
"But I’ve lived there for so long without any issues..."
She returned to the bedside.
Retrieved her phone from under the pillow and entered WeChat.
At a glance.
Her expression changed—
In the [Brocade Cloud Residence Owners’ Group].
Several owners posted videos with the same content:
[Crazy! They’re all crazy!]
Inside the video.
Brocade Cloud Residence was lit up brightly despite being late at night!
Within the community.
A bunch of owners appeared like walking corpses!
With vacant stares, they walked towards the depths of the distant forest!
Some were so eager!
Afraid of missing out!
Even those on higher floors opened their windows and jumped down!
...
Yu Anni covered her mouth!
Her face full of horror!
Gu Fei and the others curiously crowded around.
Seeing this bizarre scene in the video!
They couldn’t help but gasp:
"How could this happen?"
"It’s really like seeing a ghost!"
"Where are they going?"
...
Although not present physically.
Lin Lang also knew their destination was certainly that pond!
"I still don’t know exactly what that thing is..."
Lin Lang felt a sense of dread.
And was inclined to go explore!
