"Aargh!!"
As if enraged that its attack had been broken, a tremendous roar came from the depths of Ocean Star’s seabed.
Right after, with giant waves rolling, an octopus over twenty thousand meters long flew up from Ocean Star. Its tentacles swung, a massive bubble formed, and instantly shrouded the Fifth Fleet inside.
"Naius! It’s appeared!"
Seeing that octopus monster swimming through space, everyone knew the real boss had finally shown up.
Naius, an Extraordinary Level Star Beast, was the true master of this Ocean Star. As long as it existed, Humans basically had no chance of destroying that Planet; it was also the greatest obstacle in this war.
The Fifth Fleet was trapped inside the huge bubble Naius had created, unable to get out for the moment, forced to watch as Naius led those ship fish past their defensive line, heading straight for Water Blue Star.
In the Underground City, people watched the mighty fish swarm flying in through the live broadcast, their palms slick with sweat.
Next, the camera pulled back, and everyone was amazed to find that the flowers that usually grew in the firmament were actually blooming one after another.
"That’s... the Earth Orbital Flower!?"
Some people were seeing the Earth Orbital Flower bloom for the first time in their lives. Back in school they’d heard of this flower’s Ability; supposedly it could be used to protect a Planet, but how exactly it did so they’d never seen with their own eyes. They hadn’t expected to witness it today.
They saw those flowers blooming one by one, their stamens all aiming at the incoming fish swarm. The smallest of them had diameters of over a hundred meters, while the largest one even reached over a hundred thousand meters.
The next instant, dazzling Spiritual Power Beams shot out from the stamens, piercing through the ship fish swarm and slicing their formation apart.
The ship fish were not to be outdone either, and launched water-blue energy attacks in retaliation.
They obviously didn’t know the properties of the Earth Orbital Flower. All the energy attacks, after hitting the Earth Orbital Flowers, did not inflict any damage on the blossoms; instead, they made the red on their surfaces grow even more vivid and lustrous.
Some attacks that should have missed were also attracted over, hitting the petals and further increasing the petals’ stored power.
"Swish swish swish swish!"
Right after, the Earth Orbital Flowers emitted rays several times stronger than before, instantly inflicting massive casualties on the ship fish swarm.
Seeing his underlings get wiped out by nearly half in one go, Naius couldn’t sit still anymore. Its tentacles lashed out in unison, abruptly stretching out, crossing a distance of over ten million kilometers to grab several of the foremost Earth Orbital Flowers, then stuffing them into its mouth and gulping them down with a couple of chomps.
"Godslayer Team, move out! Pin it down!"
On the Star Alliance’s side, Black Soul also took action, leading the Godslayer Team members as they all flew toward that giant octopus.
This battle was going to be extremely difficult. Black Soul knew his own Strength might not match the opponent’s, because this guy had actually already reached the Lower God Middle Stage, his Strength considerably stronger than Black Soul’s.
Within the Extraordinary Level realm, even the slightest gap in Strength could cause combat power to widen drastically. Sometimes, just mastering one more Divine Domain made a completely different impact in battle.
Under Black Soul’s lead, the people of the Godslayer Team encircled Naius. They used their best Formation, the very same method they’d used against the Emperor in the Prism Star System, only this time they had an Extraordinary Level Black Soul as the array eye, so the situation was much better than before.
"This guy’s defensive power is very strong! The mucus on its body surface can deflect Spiritual Power attacks; try to use area-of-effect damage!"
While Black Soul’s side was locked in a dead-even fight with Naius, on the other side, the battle between the ship fish and the Earth Orbital Flowers had also entered a white-hot phase.
At long-range bombardment, the ship fish were no match at all for the Earth Orbital Flowers; you could say it was a one-sided beatdown. The attacks of these ship fish were all absorbed, then returned doubled, and in a fight where you could only take hits, no one could possibly win.
But the ship fish weren’t stupid. At the cost of another half of their number being shot down by the Earth Orbital Flowers, they forcibly charged near Water Blue Star and directly tore those Earth Orbital Flowers into pieces with close-quarters combat.
Watching the blossoms fall one after another, the Awakeners on the Star Alliance’s side also launched their attacks.
The battlefield was arranged on the outskirts of Water Blue Star. Countless Flying Sword Magical Treasures shot out, in an instant beating the ship fish into miserable wails.
But just then, Black Soul’s side of the battle came under suppression. Seeing his underlings being abused, Naius found a gap and spat out a long string of water droplets in this direction. Once these droplets reached the battlefield, they turned into a skyful of acid rain, shooting at the Awakeners like needles.
"Not good! Fall back, quickly!"
Facing an Extraordinary Level attack, no one dared to take it head-on; everyone could only temporarily retreat.
"Guruguru!"
The ship fish swarm let out a series of low calls, then opened their mouths and spat out other Fish Monsters stored in their bellies.
The tide of battle seemed to flip in an instant. The sky was densely packed with fish, and they swam through the air, moving almost no worse than in water.
The people in the Sanctuary, seeing the overwhelming fish swarm about to enter the atmosphere, were so nervous they didn’t even dare breathe.
Yet at that moment, a streak of green suddenly appeared in their Field of View. In just a dazed instant, that green actually occupied half the sky.
"That’s..."
On the ground, a warrior of the Anti-Demon Alliance looked up at those green branches blotting out the sky, his heart surging with emotion.
"It’s the World Tree!"
He immediately called out the source of those green branches in the sky—it was the World Tree on Rebirth Island.
At the moment when it faced an invasion from outer-space forces, the World Tree activated its own defense. It spread open its branches, countless green leaves and boughs extending out, forming a massive green protective wall that blocked the fish swarm in the sky and the acid rain just spat by the giant octopus.
From the perspective of the Fifth Fleet’s members, Water Blue Star was at this moment wrapped in a layer of green plant barrier; attacks from outside simply could not break through in a short time.
Under the World Tree, on Rebirth Island, a purple-haired woman was walking with a look of utter impatience, a middle-aged man with the same purple hair trailing behind her.
"Daughter, daughter, can you stop always hiding from me? I finally got to see you once with great difficulty, and you treat your own dad like this?"
The middle-aged man kept talking as he walked, wanting to reach out and grab the woman in front, but halfway through stretching out his hand, he hesitated and withdrew it.
"Don’t come bother me! I stopped having a dad like you long ago! Go away! Stop following me! I still have to go up and help!"
Ziwei shouted, a bit hysterical, trying to shake off the man behind her. But no matter how she quickened her pace, that man could keep up without missing a step.
A few Star Alliance members hurrying past nearby were secretly astonished when they saw the scene—who was this brave soul who actually dared to provoke this lady into such a huge temper?
But they only took one glance before leaving immediately. The fighting in the sky was in full swing; it was no time for Eight Diagram gossip.
The man following Ziwei was none other than Zi Kuang, who had finally mustered the courage to come see his own daughter.
"Daughter, daughter, your dad really knows he was wrong. It’s been so many years already; you’re still not done being angry? Just forgive me, I’ll definitely treat you well from now on!"
Zi Kuang wore an aggrieved, pleading expression for forgiveness, but seeing him like this, who could guess he was actually a veteran Extraordinary Level powerhouse?
Ziwei stopped walking, suddenly turned around, and said angrily:
"What’s the use of you being good to me! Where’s Mom! Can you bring her back to life! Can she enjoy your so-called goodness! Go away! Stop following me!"
