The disciples of Lingxiao Martial Arts Academy came for a martial arts exchange, but left hastily after just three days.
The disciples of Canglan Martial Arts Academy found it somewhat strange as they watched the departure of the Lingxiao Academy’s convoy.
A beginning with great promise, but ending in anticlimax!
This martial arts exchange appeared anticlimactic to them.
"Why does it feel less intense than we imagined?"
"It is a bit odd; it feels like the Lingxiao Academy just came over to fulfill a formality."
The disciples of Canglan Academy were puzzled. Initially, they learned that the disciples of Lingxiao Academy would come for a martial arts exchange and sparring session. They had prepared well for this, spending the last few days training to improve their skills before the contest.
However, they did not anticipate that this exchange would last only two days, and the sparring was much more peaceful than they had imagined.
As a certain junior brother put it: We sparred for half a day without even breaking a sweat; it was less intense than my own martial practice.
The Lingxiao Academy’s disciples did not seem to be here to compete but rather to go through the motions.
Jiang Mingda saw off the Lingxiao Academy’s people, and when he turned back, he saw the puzzled expressions on some of the disciples’ faces, a sharp gleam flashed in his aged eyes.
This time, the Lingxiao Academy’s exchange was aimed at Lin Chen, and the fight had ended two days ago. All subsequent sparring sessions were merely formalities.
The martial arts exchange seemed like a spar between new and old students from both academies, but in reality, it was only a contest for newcomers. The senior students had already exchanged and sparred, and most of their energy was focused on the ranking tournament, sometimes even withholding some strength during exchanges.
To Lin Chen, the arrival of Lingxiao Academy was just a minor episode. The only thing that delighted him was that perhaps Meng Xing recognized him as a senior brother, and he attempted to wield the pair of hammers on the weapon rack with vigor.
The fist technique Meng Xing displayed was entirely different from Junior Brother Xiao’s, but somewhat similar to Junior Brother Fang’s palm technique, yet lacked the swiftness and was more about strength and momentum.
Breaking the situation with strength, suppressing the enemy with imposing momentum.
After putting down the double hammers, Lin Chen glanced at the stone table nearby, where several secret manuals were placed. These were the double hammer cultivation techniques he found in the academy’s library pavilion.
For the academy’s disciples, many would enter the grade in their second or third year. For this reason, the academy prepared many weapon cultivation techniques for these disciples to try and see which type of weapon they were more compatible with.
Normally, obtaining these types of secret technique manuals required enough credits, but Lin Chen did not need them. When Canglan Academy initially recruited him in Linhu Village, they offered to provide all necessary resources for his cultivation at the academy.
Pills, medicinal liquids, and many secret technique manuals were included.
Apart from the hammer technique, these past two months he also studied many blade and spear technique secret manuals. While other martial artists might take many months to grasp a cultivation technique, he could master it in just a few two-hour periods.
Lin Chen understood well that this was not because he had an exceptionally high martial arts comprehension but because of the effect of the title "Unparalleled in the Same Sect." Because Junior Brother Xiao and Junior Brother Fang called him senior brother and sincerely acknowledged him, his talented comprehension in spear and blade techniques would be elevated above the two junior brothers.
Junior Brother Xiao and Junior Brother Fang’s cultivation techniques were family heirlooms, and they had been exposed to weapons from an early age, possessing extremely high talents in their respective weapons, while he stood on their shoulders.
Spear, blade... now there were also Junior Brother Meng’s double hammers!
Observing the spear, blade, and hammer techniques, Lin Chen did not intend to cultivate these techniques but rather to use these weapon cultivation techniques to integrate into his Wind and Cloud Palm.
The Wind and Cloud Palm is his self-created cultivation technique.
The subsequent moves required him to comprehend step by step; using the panel, he only had seven moves.
Moreover, the power of the earlier moves was somewhat lacking; only Palm Six and Palm Seven had acceptable power.
Over these two months, he had already tried to integrate, "Palm like a spear stab, wind like a blade cut, momentum like a hammer’s weight."
This evolution made him constantly alter the Wind and Cloud Palm’s formula, and it was also a varied attempt on his Qi Blood.
Besides the improvement of the Wind and Cloud Palm’s evolution, Lin Chen had also made significant practical progress.
Know yourself and know your enemy, and you will be invincible in a hundred battles.
This was the purpose his teacher had for making him study various martial arts cultivation techniques, and Lin Chen agreed with this viewpoint.
The more you know about martial arts cultivation techniques, the better you can discern your opponent’s moves during combat and achieve preemptive action.
Moreover, he mainly trained in archery.
In archery, besides speed, prediction was essential.
Prediction requires a vast amount of martial arts techniques to support the analysis and anticipation of your opponent’s actions.
A spear expert could determine the trajectory of an opponent’s spear tip the moment it was thrust.
Therefore, reaching the divine stage in archery is exceedingly difficult.
Most martial artists pursuing archery merely strive for speed, honing it to the extreme.
Fifteen days later!
Outside the courtyard, Xiao Yaojin and Fang Zhan stood under not far away, while Jiang Qing stood at the entrance, with a worried look on her face.
Five days ago, Xiao Yaojin and Fang Zhan also completed the refinement of their livers.
And today was the day Lin Chen was to advance in refining his liver.
"Senior Sister Jiang, rest assured, with Senior Brother Lin’s strength, there won’t be any issue."
Fang Zhan tried to comfort Jiang Qing, who wore a worried expression.
Jiang Qing pursed her lips; if it were just ordinary liver refinement, she wouldn’t worry. However, Lin Chen this time also aimed to absorb and refine the remaining eight drops of Flood Dragon True Blood in one go, using the opportunity to refine his liver.
