Qin Feiyang whispered intently into the Wolf King’s ear.
"Will it work?"
Having heard the plan, the Wolf King looked at him skeptically.
"It will definitely work," Qin Feiyang reassured confidently, thumping his chest.
"Alright! For the sake of delicious bear paws, Brother Wolf will risk it this once!" The Wolf King nodded, stood up, walked out from the bushes, and let out a fierce howl.
"A wolf!"
The people at the scene instantly paled. Wolves were inherently vicious, and most critically, they were pack animals! So, upon hearing the howl, everyone instinctively looked towards the Wolf King, including the dozens of people battling the Black Bear.
Right then, they saw a pair of eerie green eyes staring coldly at them, making their scalps tingle.
"ROAR!"
Just then, the Black Bear seized the opportunity, its ferocity erupting. Its two millstone-sized paws swiped out, sending the dozens of young men and women surrounding it flying. They all spewed blood, their faces pale, and a few even fainted on the spot.
The Black Bear immediately pivoted and bolted towards the forest.
"Don’t let it escape!"
"Damn it, how did a wolf suddenly appear?"
"Archers, what are you waiting for? Shoot!"
The very people who had been sent flying disregarded their injuries and quickly moved to encircle the Black Bear again. Those with bows split into two groups: one nocked arrows to shoot the Black Bear, while the other turned their aim towards the Wolf King.
"Danger! Run!"
The Wolf King sensed danger and hastily fled.
SWOOSH!
A dozen arrows flew through the air like a deadly shower, their heads glinting coldly in the darkness. The Wolf King, agile as a monkey, dodged left and right, barely escaping the volley. However, several arrow wounds still marred his body, fresh blood flowing freely and staining his white fur crimson.
Yet, this wasn’t the end. An arrow whistled through the air like a cold viper, zipping between his legs.
"Ah..."
"Brother Wolf’s... uh... precious bits..."
"Eh!"
"They’re okay? Thankfully, Brother Wolf’s luck is great... the precious bits are still intact..." Drenched in a cold sweat, the Wolf King continued to scamper away without looking back.
Simultaneously, Qin Feiyang was also within arrow range, but those aimed at him were easily deflected by Blue Snow, leaving him unharmed.
Under a large tree to the left, a severely injured woman in red leaned against the trunk. She gazed in the direction the Wolf King had disappeared, her eyes filled with an astonishingly cold glint.
Suddenly, she turned her head to several archers beside her and ordered, "You, go after it! Kill that beast at all costs!"
"Yes, ma’am!" The archers nodded, took up their iron bows, and chased after the Wolf King. As long as it wasn’t a pack of wolves, a single wolf could be dealt with.
But just as the men rushed past a patch of bushes, Qin Feiyang leaped out like a phantom. The chilling light from Blue Snow in his hand flashed, effortlessly slitting their throats.
"There’s an... ambush...!" one of the men gasped, clutching his neck. He stared at Qin Feiyang in disbelief, trying to scream with all his might, but his voice was barely a whisper, completely drowned out by the fierce sounds of battle and the Black Bear’s roars.
THUD!
The next moment, he dropped dead.
Seeing only a single wolf, the people from the three major clans paid it little mind, their attention refocusing on the Black Bear. Coupled with the darkness of night and the cover of the bushes, no one noticed that a few of their own had fallen.
Qin Feiyang glanced at the battlefield, a smirk playing on his lips. He skillfully took the quivers from the dead men, slung them over his back, grabbed an iron bow, and quickly retreated to rendezvous with the Wolf King.
The Wolf King was licking his wounds. Seeing Qin Feiyang approach, he adopted a fierce posture. "Xiao Qinzi," the Wolf King growled, his demeanor fierce, "Brother Wolf nearly lost his precious bits! If you don’t get Brother Wolf those bear paws, we’re through!"
"Do you even have precious bits?" Qin Feiyang glanced over curiously.
"Are you asking for a bite on your backside again?" the Wolf King chuckled, eying him with an unsettling gaze.
Qin Feiyang’s veins throbbed on his forehead. He snorted, "You win. Fine. Next is phase two of the plan. You distract them while I launch surprise attacks from the shadows. This will throw them into disarray, giving the Black Bear a chance to escape."
His first phase had been to acquire an iron bow and ample arrows.
"Damn it, you want Brother Wolf to be bait again? No way!" the Wolf King roared.
"Don’t you want to eat bear paws?" Qin Feiyang asked.
"Yes," the Wolf King nodded.
"Then hurry up," Qin Feiyang said impatiently.
"Nope," the Wolf King shook his head.
"So, do you or do you not want to eat bear paws?" Qin Feiyang frowned.
"Yes!" the Wolf King nodded, instantly perking up.
"Then get a move on!" Qin Feiyang said angrily.
"No," the Wolf King shook his head again.
Qin Feiyang became extremely annoyed and shouted, "You want to eat bear paws, but you don’t want to be bait! What in the world do you want? If you’re so capable, why don’t you shoot the arrows?"
"Brother Wolf doesn’t have hands! How am I supposed to shoot arrows? You’re clearly asking the impossible," the Wolf King retorted, glaring at him indignantly. "Besides, what if my precious bits really get shot off this time? Will you compensate me? Can you even afford to?"
"Fine, I’m utterly defeated by you. I’ll go alone, alright?" Qin Feiyang felt a strong urge to curse. Feeling helpless, he turned and ran towards the battlefield.
Xiao Qinzi must be looking down on Brother Wolf right now... Damn it, let’s go all out! Precious bits, you absolutely have to hold on!
Steeling his resolve, the Wolf King caught up with Qin Feiyang. "Remember: be quick, accurate, and ruthless!"
"You can count on me," Qin Feiyang smiled.
"Alright, let’s move!" The Wolf King ran to the right of the battlefield, while Qin Feiyang ran to the left and hid behind a large tree.
The Black Bear was in a perilous state. Its entire body was drenched in blood, its pupils were dim, and even swinging its paws seemed to take an enormous effort.
"AWOOO..." The Wolf King, standing on a small hill opposite them, howled at the sky.
"What’s going on?"
"Is there more than one wolf?"
The expressions of the people from the three major clans changed drastically once again. Those with bows rapidly nocked arrows and unleashed a volley towards the Wolf King.
"AWOOO!" The Wolf King turned and fled, his unceasing howls making everyone’s hair stand on end.
Just at that moment, Qin Feiyang emerged from behind the tree. He drew three arrows, aimed at three youths battling the Black Bear, pulled the bowstring taut, and loosed them.
WHIZZ! WHIZZ! WHIZZ!
With three sharp sounds, the arrows plunged into their chests, instantly spraying blood high into the air!
"Who the hell is shooting wildly?"
"Can’t you aim straight?"
This sudden turn of events greatly alarmed the others, and they roared in anger.
WHIZZ! WHIZZ! WHIZZ!
Qin Feiyang gave a cold smile, drew another three arrows, and fired them in quick succession. Three more youths fell dead on the spot!
Afterward, he turned and melted into the jungle, changing his position.
"What kind of hero attacks from the shadows?"
The people from the three major clans began to panic. A ferocious wolf lurked on one side, and a cold-blooded assassin lay in ambush on the other. If this continued, who knew how many more would die by an arrow?
The Black Bear, however, felt its spirits greatly revived. For a moment, it was unstoppable, steadily forcing back the people from the three major clans.
"Quick, stop it!" a young man roared. But before he could finish his sentence, an arrow pierced his throat, and he dropped dead on the spot.
"Who is it?!"
The people of the three major clans were thrown into complete disarray. The Black Bear tore through an opening in their encirclement and, dragging its exhausted body, fled into the jungle without a second glance.
"Chase it!" About a dozen strong young men immediately gave pursuit.
WHIZZ! WHIZZ! WHIZZ!
Three arrows whistled through the air. The dozen or so youths quickly dodged. With thuds, the three arrows embedded themselves in a nearby tree trunk.
"That was close!" The group gasped, cold sweat pouring down their backs. Looking in the direction the arrows had come from, they saw a dark figure melt into the jungle.
"Dare to ruin our plans!" one man shouted.
"Quick, after him! Bring him back, dead or alive!" yelled another.
Instantly, dozens of people holding torches surged into that part of the jungle, their murderous intent palpable. The dozen or so powerful youths continued their pursuit of the Black Bear, while the seriously injured remained to tend to their wounds.
Xiao Qinzi’s cover is blown; this isn’t good,
the Wolf King thought, standing on a large rock and watching the torchlight in the jungle. A terrifyingly fierce light glinted in his eyes.
If you dare harm a single hair on Xiao Qinzi’s head, Brother Wolf will see every one of you dead here tonight!
With a leap, he sprinted into the jungle.
「...」
"He can’t have gone far! Find him, quickly!"
"The bastard! Daring to ambush us! When we catch him, we’ll make him wish he’d never been born!"
Dozens of people plunged into the jungle and then scattered, beginning a carpet search like a tightening net.
HUFF! HUFF!
Qin Feiyang hid in a densely leafed tree, watching the approaching crowd. He panted heavily, sweat beading on his forehead, his expression grim. These people were all martial masters. One-on-one, he had no fear. But if he went down to confront them directly, it would surely be a life-or-death situation with slim chances of survival.
A young man in black, holding a torch, came to the base of the tree and carefully scanned the surroundings.
Suddenly, he felt something drip onto the back of his neck. He reached up to wipe it.
Is this water?
he wondered, a flicker of suspicion in his eyes.
He brought his fingers to his nose and sniffed. A glint flashed in his eyes.
This isn’t water, it’s sweat!

Instantly, the young man in black leaped back, shouting, "He’s up there! Shoot, quickly!"
WHIZZ! WHIZZ! WHIZZ!
Dozens of arrows, accompanied by sharp whistling sounds, shot towards the tree.
