With the departure of the Black-robed elder, Jian Ruohan, Canghai Yuntai Palace, Shengyue Sect, and others, the ceremony at the Spirit Sword Sect finally quieted down.
Lin Bai enjoyed drinks with Li Jianxing, Wang Hao, Chu Jiangliu, and other guests.
They feasted and drank during the day.
When night fell, all the guests were ready to depart. Many visitors chose to stay at the Spirit Sword Sect to enjoy a few more days of leisure, and the sect staff properly accommodated them.
Above the Cloud Sky.
A golden flying sword tore through the starry sky.
It stopped above Nine Heavens’ Cloud Top.
"This Flying Sword Skill is so miraculous," said Princess Chang, who was exhilarated on the Flying Sword.
Lin Bai, holding Princess Chang in his arms, laughed, "Indeed. Since my Master taught me the peerless sword art, it is naturally not weak."
Princess Chang said, "Lin Bai, you will become stronger and stronger. I can’t keep up with your pace anymore."
Lin Bai chuckled, "Initially, I had no intention to step into this Martial World. Once I find my parents, I will come back to Shenwu Kingdom for you. If you want to remain a princess, I will be a leisurely prince. And if you’re tired of the luxury life of the imperial court, we can find a place with green mountains and clear waters, and live freely."
Princess Chang nodded, a blissful smile on her face.
"Let’s go. Below is Feng Shuang City. It is the closest major city to the Spirit Sword Sect," Lin Bai said with a casual smile.
Curious, Princess Chang asked, "What are we going to Feng Shuang City for?"
Lin Bai laughed mischievously, "The night is getting late..."
Upon hearing his words, Princess Chang gave Lin Bai a disgruntled look, her face flushing with embarrassment.
Laughing out loud, Lin Bai used his Sword-controlling Skill to fly down into Feng Shuang City to find a good inn.
The next morning at dawn,
Princess Chang lay tiredly on Lin Bai’s chest, the flush on her face still not subsided. She weakly traced circuits on Lin Bai’s chest with her finger.
She whispered, "Lin Bai, what are you planning to do next?"
Lin Bai replied, "In three months, there will be the Sword Discourse Conference at Famous Sword Manor. I intend to participate. If I can win the first place, it would be great. If I can’t, I will figure out some way to get a Thousands of Years Spirit Medicine."
Princess Chang said melancholically, "Then you must be careful. Each year’s Sword Discourse Conference at Famous Sword Manor is fierce. All sword cultivators from the 700 states of Lingdong participate. Sometimes, sword cultivators from the Miracle Ridge also join."
"Moreover, this year you must be especially cautious of Feng Yunxiu and Yejian Qiu."
Lin Bai curiously inquired, "Yejian Qiu and Feng Yunxiu?"
Princess Chang explained, "Yejian Qiu was the first Sword Cultivator in the 700 Lingdong states last year. But as he hasn’t broken through to the Human Elixir Realm this year, he will likely take part again."
"As for Feng Yunxiu, you’ve already heard about him. He has been mythologized in the 700 Lingdong states."
"Many sword cultivators regard Feng Yunxiu as the First Sword Cultivator in Lingdong."
"These two are significant highlights of this year’s Sword Discourse Conference at Famous Sword Manor. Many sword cultivators want to see who is stronger, Yejian Qiu or Feng Yunxiu."
Lin Bai grinned, saying "It seems that both of them aren’t to be underestimated."
Princess Chang nodded, agreeing, "Indeed. I’ve had people look into it. The pretty lady, Jian Ruohan, only managed to place seventy-second in last year’s Sword Discourse Martial Arts Competition."
"Jian Ruohan, who is so powerful, only ranked seventy-second?" Lin Bai exclaimed in shock.
Princess Chang explained, "Yes, that’s why the Sword Discourse competition at Famous Sword Manor is so valuable."
Feeling a bit pressured, Lin Bai narrowed his eyes.
Given Lin Bai’s strength at that moment, he probably couldn’t compete with Feng Yunxiu, Yejian Qiu, or Jian Ruohan.
"I have three months. If I can enhance my cultivation to the Heaven Martial Realm Ninth Layer, I should be able to compete with them" Lin Bai told himself.
Estimating Lin Bai’s strength, if he reached the ninth layer of the Heaven Martial Realm, he wouldn’t have any problem challenging warriors at the late stage of the Half-Step Divine Pill Realm.
If Lin Bai broke through to the initial stage of the Half-step Divine Pill Realm, he should have no problem challenging a warrior at the Great Perfection stage of the Half-step Divine Pill Realm.
"Right now, the main problem is my state. But I’m not worried. I have three months. I’ll find a place rich with Demon Beasts and hunt crazily for three months. I don’t believe my cultivation wouldn’t reach the Half-step Divine Pill Realm!" Lin Bai muttered to himself confidently.
The Devouring Sword Spirit, Lin Bai’s greatest weapon, was against the heavens.
"All right, I got it." Lin Bai affirmed.
At noon,
Lin Bai and Princess Chang rose from bed and freshened up.
Feng Shuang City, outside the inn where Lin Bai stayed, the awe-inspiring Imperial Guard of Shenwu Kingdom were standing.
"Energise!" commanded Chu Jiangliu, in heavy armor, patrolling back and forth with a serious expression.
Half an hour later,
Lin Bai descended from the second floor, hand in hand with Princess Chang.
"Greetings to your highness, Princess Chang!"
"Greetings to Sword Prince!" exclaimed all the soldiers, kneeling down on one knee to pay their respects.
Princess Chang looked curiously at Chu Jiangliu and asked, "Chu Jiangliu, why are you guys here?"
Chu Jiangliu laughed, "Wherever the commander-in-chief is, there must I be as well. It’s my duty to ensure the safety of the commander-in-chief."
The First Princess glared at Chu Jiangliu impatiently: "Speak properly."
Suddenly, Chu Jiangliu’s provocative expression vanished and he cheerfully commented, "It was the message left by Lin Bai which informed us you’re here in Feng Shuang City. Otherwise, how could we easily find you once you flew away with your sword-controlling skill."
"We arrived at Feng Shuang City by dawn, after querying the innkeeper, we learnt that Princess Chang was still sleeping, we decided not to disturb."
Chu Jiangliu cheerfully explained.
The First Princess noted, "That explains it. I wondered how could it have been possible for you to find us."
Lin Bai blandly suggested, "Since the Royal Family has arrived, you should return."
Princess Chang looked at Lin Bai affectionately and advised, "Your journey ahead is one of great danger. Be careful and make sure to return safe."
"I understand," Lin Bai nodded, "Practice well with the things that I have given you."
Lin Bai had already imparted all the techniques including ’Tyrant Dragon Fist’, ’Astonishing Wind Sword Skill’, and ’Feng Lei Divine Wings’ to the First Princess.
She nodded.
First Princess ordered, "Prince Chu, order the three armies to return."
The Princess said.
"Yes."
Chu Jiangliu responded and led the three armies out of Feng Shuang City.
Lin Bai watched the three armies leave Feng Shuang City, then smiled faintly and suggested, "Let’s go, the sword-controlling skill!"
A sword lifted Lin Bai up and ascended to the sky.
The large army left Feng Shuang City and headed directly for the Imperial Capital.
The First Princess and Chu Jiangliu walked side by side.
Chu Jiangliu laughed, "Princess Chang, I fear I’m only a short while away from becoming an uncle."
Princess Chang curiously asked, "What do you mean?"
Chu Jiangliu slyly grinned, "Do you mean to say you two didn’t kindle the flame of love while spending the entire night together alone?"
Princess Chang coldly retorted, "Chu Jiangliu, stop your nonsense or I’ll tear your mouth apart. Do you believe me?"
Chu Jiangliu instantly started sweating nervously, claiming, "I wouldn’t dare... I wouldn’t dare..."
The princess sighed lightly, "Even if you do become an uncle, it won’t be to a child I’ve fathered for Lin Bai."
Chu Jiangliu curiously probed, "Does Sword Prince have other women?"
Princess Chang scoffed, "Do you really believe that a man of Lin Bai’s stature lacks women around him? For instance, Miss Hong Su of Fengyue Square... Lin Bai happens to be her first client."
Chu Jiangliu suggested, "But I clearly see love in Lin Bai’s eyes for you."
The First Princess laughed, "Of course, no matter how many women he has, there’ll always be a place in his heart for me!"
"I am, after all, confident about this."
The First Princess smiled brilliantly.
Brothers, olds, and sisters, Happy New Year to you all first and foremost.
For Emperor Sword, the new year marks a fresh start, a brand-new year, and possibly a brand-new life.
There are two New Year’s wishes for this book.
The first New Year’s wish is to write this book diligently without letting down your expectations.
The second New Year’s wish is to strive to store Chapters and provide you with more excitement.
As the name of this Chapter goes "A long, long road, only the sword to accompany."
I like these words a lot, friends who like LOL would know, it comes from a lone proud swordsman, the Wind Swordmaster.
"Astonishing Sword Emperor" has only been written up to the first volume for Emperor Sword, the journey is still long and I hope you all would accompany it for a while longer.
So it is New Year’s again, and also the New Year’s Day.
I noticed many of you have called for more updates.
Once should be on the 3rd or 4th, the update should be around 20 Chapters.
Because that’s all I can write in this short amount of time.
Wait for me this month, the second big update will be at the end of January.
The huge update at the end of the month should have at least 50 Chapters.
Thank you for your support!
On the first day of the new year, I won’t be as thick-skinned as to ask everyone for a recommendation, for subscriptions, and donations.
But, hehe, please do support me by subscribing.
Seeking recommendation, seeking subscription, seeking donation.
