Wen Jiang had just intended to step onto the Heaven-reaching Ladder when he suddenly found nearly ninety Warriors blocking his path, causing the foot he had raised to be reluctantly withdrawn, his face immediately revealing a trace of displeasure!
"Back at last!"
These over ninety Warriors, looking at the colossal staircase before them, displayed joy on their faces, their emotions so intense they were moved to tears!
Even Nie Xong, Zhuo Lian, Jing Shu, and Luo Xuan had particularly joyous expressions on their faces.
These ninety plus individuals were Lin Bai and others who had hurried back from the Melting Furnace Mountain Range to the Heaven-reaching Sword Sect!
"Move!"
A flash of icy coldness flickered in Lin Bai’s eyes as he stepped forward and walked upwards!
Crossing the Heaven-reaching Ladder would allow entry into the mountain range of the Heaven-reaching Sword Sect, after which one could soar through the sky once more.
"Halt!" Wen Jiang, his face filled with malevolent displeasure, bellowed.
Hearing Wen Jiang’s angry roar, Lin Bai and the rest looked back.
Veins bulged on Wen Jiang’s forehead, his rage seemingly uncontrollable—it was intolerable for Wen Jiang that after queuing for three hours he was cut off at the last moment!
"Which Martial Art Family do you Warriors hail from, and how come you don’t know the rules? We are all queuing orderly, how could you just cut in?" Wen Jiang roared in anger.
"Do your Martial Art Families not teach you what is called manners? Or is it that your families are inherently lacking in propriety?" Wen Jiang’s eyes seemed to spit fire as he shouted.
Lin Bai and the rest showed unfavorable expressions upon hearing these words.
Lin Bai was also particularly curious as to why there were so many Warriors queuing up here again!
"Yeah! Why are you cutting the line?"
"Line cutters, get to the back!"
"Mad, would the Heaven-reaching Sword Sect even accept disciples without manners like you?" The queuing Warriors also started cursing one after another.
Nie Xiong understood upon hearing this, and whispered to Lin Bai, "Senior Brother Dongfang, today is March, and every year in March, the Heaven-reaching Sword Sect opens its mountain gate to recruit disciples. These people must be here to join the Outer Sect!"
Lin Bai suddenly understood and nodded, "If that’s the case, let’s not mind them, let’s go."
Lin Bai did not expect those who had not yet joined the Sect to be aware of the rules of the Heaven-reaching Sword Sect!
Lin Bai did not want to be entangled with these Warriors who had not yet joined the Sect, and intended to continue walking forward!
"Stop! Are you deaf to me talking to you?" Wen Jiang, seeing Lin Bai and the others ignoring him, immediately roared in anger.
Lin Bai paused in his steps!
The young man who had come with Wen Jiang, tugged at him and said, "Brother Wen Jiang, no more words, they are all Warriors of the seventh or eighth level of the Yin Saint Realm, not someone we can provoke."
Wen Jiang roared in anger, "What if they are experts of the Yin Saint Realm? Here lies the Heaven-reaching Sword Sect, the number one Sword Cultivation Sect on the Lingnan Continent, and their insolence will not be tolerated!"
"I may not have high Cultivation to deal with you, but the Elders of the Heaven-reaching Sword Sect can!" After saying this, Wen Jiang called out to an Elder who was maintaining the order at the side of the field, "Elder Peng Yu, these people are unruly, cutting in line and disgracing the reputation of the Heaven-reaching Sword Sect. I appeal to the Elder for strict punishment!"
Peng Yu, one of the Outer Sect Elders of the Heaven-reaching Sword Sect, was a Cultivator of the eighth level of the Yin Saint Realm, which was considered decent!
Peng Yu had already noticed the group of Warriors who had suddenly appeared on the Heaven-reaching Ladder and was about to come over to check when he heard Wen Jiang’s angry words.
Peng Yu immediately quickened his pace and came to Wen Jiang’s side!
"Humph! With the arrival of the Outer Sect Elder of the Heaven-reaching Sword Sect, let’s see how long you can remain arrogant!" Wen Jiang, seeing Peng Yu approaching, had a glint of coldness in his eyes.
Peng Yu hurried over, and as he got close and saw the clothes worn by the ninety-plus Warriors on the Heaven-reaching Ladder, his eyes rapidly widened, even his steps faltered slightly!
"Inner Disciple?"
Peng Yu exclaimed in shock, his heart skipped a beat: Strange, why would an Inner Disciple suddenly appear at the Outer Sect’s disciple selection? In past years, Inner Disciples wouldn’t easily intervene in Outer Sect affairs!
Seeing Peng Yu approaching, Wen Jiang felt reassured and respectfully said with a fist salute, "Junior Wen Jiang pays respects to the Heaven-reaching Sword Sect Elder. Elder, these people are not abiding by the rules and showing contempt for the Heaven-reaching Sword Sect, please punish them severely and revoke their qualification for discipleship!"
Following Wen Jiang’s words, other disciples joining the selection also clamored one after another, "Indeed, Elder, without rules, there is no square or circle. Please impose a strict punishment!"
"Showing contempt for the Heaven-reaching Sword Sect, how audacious!"
A group of Family Disciples spoke one after another.
Upon hearing this, Peng Yu was so scared that he broke out in a cold sweat. As a mere Outer Sect Elder, how could he dare to confront an Inner Disciple? Immediately, Peng Yu roared angrily, "Everyone shut up!"
Peng Yu’s voice resonated like thunder, his loud voice spread out, silencing the entire crowd.
Then, Peng Yu quickly stepped forward, bent over respectfully, and smilingly said, "Outer Sect Executive Hall Elder Peng Yu of the Heaven-reaching Sword Sect greets all the Senior Inner Brothers!"
Seeing Peng Yu’s respectful salute, the warriors who had just requested severe punishment for Lin Bai and the others were all dumbfounded.
Especially Wen Jiang, seeing Peng Yu’s demeanor, was so frightened that his eyeballs almost popped out. Only then did he realize that these people seemed to be of considerable origin!
"Inner Disciples!"
"My God! These people are actually Inner Disciples!"
"The Heaven-reaching Sword Sect is divided into Outer and Inner Gates. The Outer Sect accepts all, whereas the Inner Disciples are the backbone of the Heaven-reaching Sword Sect. Only by being admitted to the Inner Gate can one truly be considered a disciple of the Heaven-reaching Sword Sect!"
"They are actually from the Inner Gate!"
"Haha, that Wen Jiang has not yet been admitted to the Heaven-reaching Sword Sect, but he already offended an Inner Disciple. Good thing I was smart and didn’t speak up. Otherwise, offending an Inner Disciple, my life would be ruined!"
In the plaza in front of the Mountain Gate, one after another, the warriors spoke, dumbstruck.
Lin Bai swept a sharp gaze over Peng Yu, ignored him, and directly walked up the Heaven-reaching Ladder!
"Hmph!" The rest of the Heaven-reaching Sword Sect disciples let out a cold snort each.
Upon hearing this cold snort, Peng Yu shuddered again, knowing that if these Inner Disciples were to blame him, he, as an Outer Sect Elder, would be unable to bear it!
However, Peng Yu was also secretly delighted to find that these Inner Disciples seemed to have just returned from a great calamity and did not intend to entangle with him any further, and left directly!
Luo Xuan took a slightly slower step, turned back to Peng Yu, and said: "Your name is Peng Yu?"
Peng Yu hastily replied, "Outer Sect Executive Hall Elder, Peng Yu!"
Luo Xuan swept his gaze over the crowd and spoke indifferently, "Although the Heaven-reaching Sword Sect has a policy of ’teaching without discrimination,’ it doesn’t mean just any Tom, Dick, or Harry can be admitted into the Sect. The triseason discipleship doesn’t regard innate talent or Martial Soul, but it does regard character."
"Peng Yu, since you are the Outer Sect Elder in charge of today’s discipleship selection, then you should rightfully eliminate the chaff for the Sect!"
After Luo Xuan said this indifferently, he quickly caught up with Lin Bai and the others’ footsteps.
"Yes! Junior Brother will remember!" Peng Yu quickly nodded in response.
When Peng Yu looked up again, he found that this group of Inner Disciples had already left and ascended the Heaven-reaching Ladder, flying away.
Peng Yu looked puzzled, "This is strange, why did these Inner Disciples come to the Outer Sect at this time?"
"Those words the Senior Inner Brother said before he left, does he mean..." After being puzzled for a moment, Peng Yu turned back to look at the lined-up queue.
At first glance, Peng Yu saw Wen Jiang, who had already been scared silly, and chuckled as he pointed his finger: "You, you, you, you, and you guys, do not meet the Heaven-reaching Sword Sect’s discipleship requirements, go back."
Peng Yu pointed his finger repeatedly, marking over a dozen people as unqualified.
The warriors pointed out by Peng Yu all turned pale, despondent, with some even fainting on the spot!
Among these dozen or so people, was, conspicuously, Wen Jiang!
