After reading the news in her hand, Yang Xirui’s slender eyebrows frowned even deeper.
It had been nearly four months since the West Cloud Planet’s martial arts competition.
As this was the first time she had appeared on screen and become a reporter, and because of this, her reputation among the citizens of the federation had soared. Yang Xirui originally wanted to review the first West Cloud Planet’s martial arts competition in a few months and contact the things that happened before and after this competition as well as the change in the martial arts development of the federation.
This idea was supported by the leader of the Martial Arts World Channel. She was originally full of confidence and enthusiasm.
However, when she started to collect relevant information again, she discovered a situation that surprised her.
Among the Federation martial artists who had participated in the West Cloud Planet’s martial arts competition and entered the finals, everyone had undergone a huge change in less than four months.
But these changes are not all good.
According to these news articles, the three Federation martial artists who had entered the top eight of the adult group finals of the competition had actually suffered a total of 19 attacks in less than four months.
Among these attacks, not only were there attacks from other martial artists, there were also attacks from the armed forces.
Although these three martial artists were able to enter the top eight of the adult group and even one of them had obtained the championship of the adult group, their strength was still slightly affected by such frequent attacks.
One of the Federation martial artists who had only entered the top eight in the martial arts competition was even heavily injured in the attack. He was lying in the hospital unconscious.
Seeing these news, Yang Xirui could not help but worry about Chu Nan’s current situation.
According to the information that Yang Xirui did not show in the news, the main reason why these three martial artists suffered so many attacks was because they obtained the special reward of the lowest B-rank martial technique promised by Supremacy Mu Yutong through their outstanding performance in the martial arts competition.
In particular, the Federation martial artist who obtained the championship could obtain the lowest A-rank martial technique promised by Supremacy Mu Yutong!
Be it those martial artists or militants who attacked them, they were all coming for the martial technique rewards they had obtained.
As a news worker who had worked in the media for several years, Yang Xirui was not surprised.
A man’s wealth was his own ruin.
Under normal circumstances, these three Federation martial artists would definitely not suffer so many attacks. However, it was precisely because they had obtained the powerful martial technique promised by Supremacy Mu Yutong as a reward that many people cast greedy gazes at them.
This was similar to how if a person worked normally to earn money, even if they were relatively rich, under normal circumstances, they would not attract the greed of many people.
If an ordinary person suddenly won a huge prize and was known by everyone, it would easily attract the greed of many people.
From this point, the reward Supremacy Mu Yutong gave them might not be a good thing.
Therefore, Yang Xirui was very worried about Chu Nan.
Chu Nan was the only Federation martial artist who had entered the top eight groups below the age of 20 in the martial arts competition.
According to Supremacy Mu Yutong’s promise, he would also obtain the lowest B-rank martial technique as a reward.
Unlike the martial artists of the adult group, although Chu Nan, as a participant in the group below the age of 20, had also entered the top eight and even obtained the first runner-up, his strength was still much inferior to the three Federation martial artists in the adult group.
In fact, after the battle with Maruk, he was heavily injured and almost lost his life.
Later on, when Yang Xirui went to the hospital to visit him, he finally woke up a month later.
Under such circumstances, if he was also attacked because of the B-rank martial technique reward Mu Yutong gave him, how could he resist?
Earlier, Yang Xirui had used her identity as a reporter from the Federation’s Information Martial Arts World Channel to contact West Cloud Academy. She had learned from the deputy dean that Chu Nan had already taken leave from West Cloud Academy and returned to his hometown, the Purple Cloud Planet. They did not know what his current situation was.
At that time, Yang Xirui did not have the chance to exchange private contact details with Chu Nan. For the sake of the students’ privacy, West Cloud Academy would not reveal Chu Nan’s private contact information. As a result, Yang Xirui could not contact him even if she wanted to.
This made her very anxious.
If Chu Nan was still lying in the hospital on West Cloud Planet or was still in West Cloud Academy, the possibility of him being attacked was lower.
However, he had returned to the Purple Cloud Planet now. Last time, he had even revealed that his parents were ordinary farmers on the Purple Cloud Planet, so the possibility of him being attacked was too high.
With his current strength, if he was really attacked, he might be in extreme danger now.
In fact... it was even possible for him to die!
“Tsk! Impossible!”
Yang Xirui spat at herself and shook her head forcefully. She threw this terrifying guess out of her mind and began to seriously consider how to contact Chu Nan.
On the virtual screen in front of him, different news articles were rolling continuously. Suddenly, a chubby round face that Yang Xirui found familiar flashed past.
Yang Xirui was stunned and quickly operated it to pull out the chubby face that flashed past.
After staring at it for a moment, she quickly confirmed that this guy was Chu Nan’s dormitory friend, Dong Fang.
“How did he appear in an important news article?”
Yang Xirui was puzzled and wanted to open the news to see what was going on. Then, she tried to find Dong Fang’s contact method in the news to contact Chu Nan through him. However, the scene on the virtual screen suddenly changed and a communication request interface appeared.
Yang Xirui was stunned for a moment before realizing that this was a public communication request transferred from the customer service of the Martial Arts World Channel.
This public communication request was directly transferred to Yang Xirui’s personal work platform. Clearly, the public who sent the communication request to the Martial Arts World Channel directly called Yang Xirui.
Then, the customer service thought that Yang Xirui might pick up, so they transferred it over.
“Who’s looking for me?”
After glancing at it in confusion, Yang Xirui was first shocked before feeling happy.
The name labeled behind this communication request was Chu Nan!
He was just racking his brains to contact him when he actually took the initiative to come looking for him!
That was great!
Yang Xirui picked up the call without hesitation.
Chu Nan’s familiar face immediately appeared on the virtual screen and he smiled at Yang Xirui.
“Miss Yang Xirui, long time no see.”
Yang Xirui carefully looked at Chu Nan who appeared on the virtual screen and confirmed that he should be alive and well before feeling slightly relieved.
“Chu Nan, long time no see. I heard that you’ve returned to the Purple Cloud Planet? How is it? Did anything happen recently?”
Chu Nan was stunned.
When he contacted Senior Zheng Yuanlin previously, he knew that he had left West Cloud Academy and even knew that he wanted to register for Star Cloud Academy. Now that he had contacted Yang Xirui, she actually knew that he had returned to the Purple Cloud Planet?
Was his whereabouts so easily understood?
What made him feel even stranger was why Yang Xirui asked him, “Is everything alright?”
Could it be that she knew something?
“I... did have something happen. Therefore, I specially came to find you this time because I hope you can help me.”
“Oh? Tell me. As long as I can help, there’s definitely no problem,” Yang Xirui agreed.
“Alright, it’s like this...”
After Chu Nan finished speaking, Yang Xirui frowned.
“You really want to do this?”
“Really.”
“Can you... bear to?”
Chu Nan shrugged, “What’s there to be unwilling about? Compared to the safety of my family, everything else is not important.”
Seeing the firm expression in Chu Nan’s eyes, Yang Xirui was silent for a moment before nodding.
“Alright, I understand. I’ll help you.”
