2780 The Moon Empress’ Upgrade!
“Partner, it turns out that all my root energy was left here after I reincarnated alongside you! While I was absorbing the power, my memory recovered. I am about to fully unlock myself!
“This time, I will have to sleep for a few years. This slumber won’t affect the Spirit Lock spatial zone’s abilities, and it will be able to continue functioning as usual. The Spirit Lock spatial zone will only begin to transform once I awake from my slumber and inject my energy into it!”
At this point, Morbius paused. Now that Morbius had recovered its memory, it was feeling many different emotions while speaking to Lin Yuan.
Its heart ached inexplicably for Lin Yuan. Back then, it was this friend who had stepped forward and taken on the duty of being the rescuer.
Luckily, the sacred mountain merged with Lin Yuan’s soul when he reincarnated. Otherwise, the Saint’s reincarnation would not have taken place smoothly. Without the protection from the sacred mountain, Lin Yuan’s spiritual energy and soul could have been damaged during the reincarnation process.
If that had happened, Morbius would have chosen to end its own life. But if it had done that, it would not have been able to meet and accompany Lin Yuan in his life.
Before it recovered its memory, Lin Yuan was Morbius’ closest companion. This did not change even now that it had recovered its memory!
Morbius knew that once it absorbed all this energy and was restored to its complete state, its abilities would improve tremendously.
At that time, it would be of even more help to Lin Yuan during their journeys.
However, this impending slumber would last for a few years, and Morbius would miss Lin Yuan while it was asleep.
With the memories from their previous life, Morbius felt as though it was reuniting with Lin Yuan.
Morbius knew that Lin Yuan had decided not to recover the memories from his past life.
Morbius did not think that this was a bad idea. He would only be able to break through without being affected by anything else and carve out a new path for himself if he was unencumbered by his past life’s memories.
If Lin Yuan accepted the previous Saint’s memories, he would inevitably be affected by these memories in the future.
It was possible that the paths Lin Yuan took in this life would allow him to reach unprecedented heights that went beyond that of his previous life.
The spirit fountain on the sacred mountain’s peak had transformed into Lin Yuan’s divine kingdom while the sacred mountain itself had fused with Lin Yuan’s body and was now a part of him.
Now that Morbius had recovered its memories, it could clearly sense that only Lin Yuan’s Body of All Spirits could merge perfectly with the sacred mountain and absorb all of its energy to nourish himself.
If the sacred mountain was paired with the other individuals, they might be able to use their bodies to absorb the sacred mountain by force, but it was highly probable that its energy would cause their bodies to mutate.
Going forward, if there was anything that Lin Yuan did not know, he would not have to ask Spring, Summer, Autumn, and Winter. Morbius could answer all the questions he had that pertained to basic knowledge.
As the Totem God, Morbius was always by the Saint’s side and knew more than Spring, Summer, Autumn, and Winter, who were only followers.
The three bloodlines that Lin Yuan had just used the Body of All Spirits to attain were decent and worth nurturing. Moreover, Lin Yuan already had the mermaid bloodline. As such, Lin Yuan’s physique had powerful combat abilities.
Lin Yuan’s heart skipped a beat when he heard that. It was good news that Morbius had evolved after absorbing the energy in the wall illustrations. However, it would have to go into slumber for such a long time!
Ever since Morbius joined him, they had never been apart for more than a year. Morbius was not only his friend but also his shadow.
Lin Yuan was now used to discussing all his issues with Morbius. During their conversations, Lin Yuan could not only assess his decisions objectively, but Morbius would also offer new insights and perspectives.
Morbius sensed that Lin Yuan was feeling reluctant. In its semi-tangible form, Morbius appeared next to Lin Yuan and hugged him tightly.
“Partner, a temporary parting is necessary for a better union in the future.
“Judging by how things are going now, you should be preparing to head to the Sky Beyond the Clouds by the time I awake. You will only be able to better protect our current world by heading to the Sky Beyond the Clouds and amassing power.
“Once the Abyss Beast returns, many people will become suspicious that so many members lost their lives in this Class 2 world. It’s true that Fan Lou will be able to hide the subsequent evolutions of feys, but once the other species become suspicious, they can send people secretly to the main world to investigate it.
“Suspicion and curiosity will convince the wealthy species to pay the price in exchange for searching for the truth. Unless you remain in this Class 2 world forever, such incidents could happen at any time!
“Once you arrive at the Sky Beyond the Clouds and gain sufficient power, you will be able to protect the Class 2 world. With your power looming over the Class 2 world, no one will dare to cause trouble for it.
“Additionally, once you leave, this Class 2 world will return to a state of peace. It is your presence that led to the creation of so many fantastical tales about this world. This world is lucky to be the host of your reincarnated life!”
Morbius was speaking objectively. It believed that without Lin Yuan, this world would be a regular Class 1 world.
Given that there were spirit-fire experts in this world, it would not be conquered by the dimensional worlds. As it continued to develop, there would be more and more spirit-fire experts as well. It was possible that they would eventually have been able to take over the dimensional worlds.
Of the five dimensional worlds, the abyssal world’s changes were the most largely attributed to Lin Yuan.
The changes in the alien insect world were due to the demon insects.
As Keira continued to develop the alien insects, she could have used them to awaken herself and subsequently proliferate the demon insects! Once the demon insects expanded, even a few spirit-fire experts would be no match for them. As such, if that happened, it was likely that the conflict would lead to the widespread death of the main world’s lifeforms.
Given that the demon insects had taken over the Class 1 world’s civilization, they would eventually try to promote the world to Class 2 on behalf of the original lifeforms.
That was the original playbook for this Class 2 world. It was Lin Yuan’s presence that put the world on a different course.
Lin Yuan shook his head gently. He did not think that this world was lucky to host his reincarnation. Rather, he believed that he was the lucky one.
If he had not been born into this Class 1 world, he would never have met Chu Ci, the Moon Empress, Auntie Zhang, Uncle Li, Liu Jie, Wen Yu, and the rest of his friends. To Lin Yuan, these relationships were his most precious treasures.
Power made one strong, but it was not meant to allow one to recklessly break the rules. Instead, its purpose was to enable one to protect those who were precious to them. Relationships were the only thing that a person could possess for eternity.
After releasing each other from the hug, Lin Yuan said, “Partner, don’t worry about anything and go and sleep. By the time you awake, it should be time for us to head to the Sky Beyond the Clouds!”
Lin Yuan did not agree with what Morbius said about this world being lucky to have hosted his reincarnation. But he did agree with what Morbius said about him not being able to remain in the main world forever.
Lin Yuan’s protection of the main world should not limit his development.
It was true that he could only improve his protection of the main world by making a name for himself in the Sky Beyond the Clouds.
The experts from the Sky Beyond the Clouds were able to come to the main world on the Abyss Beast. This meant that Lin Yuan could do the same to return to the main world in the future.
... Once Morbius fell asleep, Lin Yuan left for the Startling Lines Continent to begin collecting resources.
Spring remained at Epoch God Palace to watch over the visitors from the Sky Beyond the Clouds.
Lin Yuan had given Kong Huan and Fan Lou permission to decide what to do with the visitors from the Sky Beyond the Clouds.
Winter would wait until Kong Huan and Fan Lou had left with the rest of the visitors before going to the Radiance Federation to meet up with Lin Yuan.
Once he was done collecting resources and returned to the Radiance Federation, Lin Yuan would begin helping the Moon Empress, Cold Moon, Mystic Moon, and the rest to increase their strength.
When the Moon Empress went with him to the Sky Beyond the Clouds, she would definitely take Cold Moon and Mystic Moon with her.
With the Moon Empress’ current power, she would not be able to offer Lin Yuan much help in the Sky Beyond the Clouds.
In truth, the Moon Empress’ current power could not hold a candle to that of Lin Yuan.
Lin Yuan currently had four World Emperor/Divine Kingdom feys. If these four feys decided to unleash mayhem, they could easily destroy this Class 2 world.
The Moon Empress might not be able to help Lin Yuan, but she was far more capable than Wen Yu when it came to governance.
Governance was an ability that was built up through time and experience. Most of Wen Yu’s skills were taught to her by Mystic Moon.
Mystic Moon was skilled at internal governance, while Cold Moon was skilled at external governance. External governance involved far more tasks, while internal governance was more complex.
Cold Moon was just as capable as Mystic Moon. In fact, she was more decisive than him when it came to handling issues.
When Cold Moon went with them to the Sky Beyond the Clouds, Liu Jie could be left by her side for some time.
Sky City would only grow stronger in the Sky Beyond the Clouds, and Lin Yuan’s current pool of management talent was far from sufficient. He badly needed the Moon Empress’ help.
Lin Yuan could be certain that the Moon Empress would not hide any selfish intentions while helping him.
... After the recent storm, the main world had entered a period of true peace.
Lin Yuan greatly enjoyed this peace. Prior to this peace, Lin Yuan had been far too busy for far too long.
The trip to the Startling Lines Continent to collect spirit qi crystals went extremely smoothly, and another small mountain of spirit qi crystals now sat in the Spirit Lock spatial zone.
The Wind Speed Rapid Antelope got to work again. It was not just the main world that had undergone substantial changes. The same went for the Spirit Lock spatial zone.
... Once Lin Yuan returned to the Radiance Federation, he went directly to the Radiant Moon Palace and handed the Moon Empress a fey storage box that contained 300,000 spirit qi crystals.
Lin Yuan said seriously, “Master, hold onto these spirit qi crystals. Don’t distribute them. Instead, use them to increase the power of your own feys! Try to evolve your feys to World Emperor/Divine Kingdom at the same time that you reach the Divine Kingdom level!”
Lin Yuan always kept his circumstances in check and was aware of the limitations. It would not be a good thing for World Emperor/Divine Kingdom experts to appear in the world when it was only a Class 2 world.
When Lin Yuan helped a lifeform to increase its power to the point that it exceeded the power of this world, this lifeform would be at the peak of the world. In such an event, it was highly possible that the lifeform’s mindset would change toward a negative trajectory. Possession of unrestrained power always clouded the mind.
Before Lin Yuan left the main world, he would help all the members of the Radiance Federation’s royalty to reach the spirit-fire level and give them a Divine Kingdom human weapon.
Red Thorn had stored away all the corpses of the invaders from the Sky Beyond the Clouds. It would use the Tongue of Relinquish to take control of these lifeforms.
With Red Thorn’s current power, it was difficult for it to use the Tongue of Relinquish to take control of World Emperor/intermediate Divine Kingdom experts, and it was unknown how much time would be needed to accomplish such a thing.
However, it would not be long before Lin Yuan increased Red Thorn’s power.
Once Red Thorn reached World Emperor/Divine Kingdom, it would be easy for it to take control of these World Emperor/Intermediate Divine Kingdom lifeforms.
The Moon Empress reached out and received the spatial equipment from Lin Yuan.
“Little Yuan, I will do my best to increase my power as soon as possible. I only hope that my meager power will be of help to you in the Sky Beyond the Clouds!”
Lin Yuan said earnestly, “Master, once we get to the Sky Beyond the Clouds, I will leave you in charge of managing Sky City while Wen Yu will support you. Most of Wen Yu’s abilities were taught to her by Mystic Moon. If you manage Sky City, Wen Yu will be able to learn more from Mystic Moon. That will give me more assurance!”
Lin Yuan wanted to develop Sky City but was not focused on its management. He preferred to be the creator of resources rather than the manager of a faction.
As the City Lord, Lin Yuan had always been a mouthpiece in name, while most of the heavy lifting of management fell on the shoulders of Wen Yu and Liu Jie.
When they departed, Sky City would surely strengthen rapidly. Wen Yu and Liu Jie alone would not be enough to hold down the fort.
Moreover, Wen Yu and Liu Jie were very prideful. If Lin Yuan found another group of capable people from the Sky Beyond the Clouds to help manage Sky City, Wen Yu and Liu Jie would not only be indignant but would also grow doubtful.
Lin Yuan did not want such a thing to happen. Wen Yu and Liu Jie would not feel any displeasure if the Moon Empress was the one to take over Sky City’s management.
The Moon Empress was stunned when she heard what he said. She never expected Lin Yuan to trust her with such an important matter.
The Moon Empress was always worried she would not be able to help Lin Yuan. Despite being his Master, she seemed to fulfill no crucial role in his life.
But now that she knew what she could do for Lin Yuan, the Moon Empress was elated. “Don’t worry, Little Yuan. Once we get to the Sky Beyond the Clouds, I will definitely do my best to help you manage Sky City!”
