Faced with a punch that could smash an ordinary Super Grade Celestial Human to a pulp, Xia Wuyang stood his ground, showing not a hint of fear.
He let out a hearty laugh, filled with valor and a burning will to fight. For once, he could truly let loose.
"Bring it on!"
He planted his right foot on the corner of the eaves and violently pushed off, launching his own punch.
"RUMBLE!"
The eaves of the Grand Hall, already half-collapsed, completely gave way under the force of his push. Bricks, stone, and timber rained down, reducing the structure to near ruins.
Xia Wuyang, however, shot upward like a cannonball, his momentum magnificent and unstoppable.
Instead of dodging the colossal descending fist, he swung his own right fist straight up to meet it without any flourish.
The moment he threw the punch, the Dragon and Tiger Golden Bell Body within him roared to life, operating at its absolute peak. The power that erupted was in no way inferior to that of the Black Ape True Monarch.
His pale-silver Dragon and Tiger Spirit Blood surged like a torrential river, emitting low dragon’s roars and tiger’s howls, as if he kept a dragon and a tiger captive within his very body.
On the surface of his skin, pale-silver dragon and tiger patterns suddenly flared to life. A layer of pale-silver, bell-shaped Gang Qi, so dense it looked tangible, coalesced over his fist. The fist intent of his Golden Bell Prison-Suppression Fist had become instinct, allowing him to unleash over one hundred and twenty percent of its might.
One large, one small; one black, one silver. The two utterly disproportionate fists smashed together in mid-air—a raw, direct collision. It was strength against strength, force against force.
"DONG..."
It was as if two colossal mountains had savagely crashed into one another. An indescribable sound—simultaneously muffled to the extreme yet loud enough to shake the heavens—erupted, sweeping across all of Little Sumeru Mountain.
A visible, ring-shaped shockwave of mixed pale-silver and crimson-black energy erupted from the point of impact, spreading ferociously in all directions like a tsunami.
"CRASH... RATTLE..."
The remaining buildings of the Vajra Sect below were swept over as if by the ruthless swipe of an invisible, giant hand.
The already-tottering halls, monastic dormitories, and bell-and-drum towers collapsed and crumbled in droves under the shockwave, shattering like sandcastles, as if they were made of tofu.
Brick, stone, and timber were pulverized, the dust shooting skyward only to be swept into the distance by an even more ferocious blast wave.
A pall of dust filled the air, blotting out the sun and sky!
Even the hard bedrock of Little Sumeru Mountain cracked under the force of the terrifying collision, forming countless massive fissures. Boulders tumbled down, crushing many of the monks who had been hiding in crevices to death.
Some monks in the distance, who had managed to escape a bit further, looked back with lingering fear. When they saw the apocalyptic scene, they were scared witless. Screaming, they scrambled away, fleeing even farther, never daring to look back for fear of being caught in the blast.
At the center of the blast, Xia Wuyang’s body shot backward like a meteor for dozens of yards. He stomped on the air repeatedly, each step creating a visible explosion of air and even forming its own shockwave, which was how he barely managed to disperse the overwhelming, terrifying force.
His right arm, fist still clenched, was slightly numb. The pale-silver, bell-shaped Gang Qi on his knuckles had dimmed somewhat, but his eyes only grew brighter. His will to fight burned even hotter, and his Spirit Blood surged ever more violently.
"Excellent! What power! What force!" he praised sincerely, feeling utterly invigorated.
’With that one punch, my opponent relied on pure physical strength, yet he could match my own fist—one that incorporates the defensive principles of the Golden Bell Prison-Suppression Fist and the power of my Dragon and Tiger Spiritual Blood Power—on equal footing, even gaining a slight upper hand. He is truly worthy of the title of a Level 12 Body Refining Demon Monarch.’
On the other side, the Black Ape Demon Monarch’s massive body also swayed slightly. It retreated a mere half-step—far less than Xia Wuyang.
On the surface of its fist, which was harder than refined iron, a shallow fist print glowing with a faint silver light had appeared.
It was, however, instantly healed by a surge of Spiritual Blood Power, leaving no trace.
But the momentary stinging pain and the faint numbness it left behind caused a look of shocked disbelief to appear in the Black Ape Demon Monarch’s crimson eyes for the first time.
’This human’s physical power is tyrannical, and his defense is even stranger. Most importantly, he’s also a True Monarch... But aren’t human True Monarchs supposed to be famous for their Qi Refining?’
’My punch was strong enough to level a small mountain, yet it failed to blow him apart—and this was a clash of pure physical bodies.’
"ROAR... You’ve got some skill. I never thought a Human Race True Monarch could have such a tough body. But it’s not enough!"
The Black Ape Demon Monarch’s ferocity was fully aroused. It roared to the heavens and beat its steel-like chest with its fists, producing muffled THUDS. The Spirit Blood around its body erupted with even greater violence, like a volcano.
It was done testing, all traces of contempt gone. Its massive body erupted with a startling speed that defied its size, transforming into a black hurricane as it lunged at Xia Wuyang once more.
This was no longer a simple straight punch, but an onslaught of fists, palms, claws, and elbows. Though the moves were simple and direct, each strike contained the terrifying, mountain-shattering power and profound force-generation techniques, enveloping Xia Wuyang in a ferocious storm of attacks.
Xia Wuyang was utterly fearless. With a long cry, he charged forward to meet the onslaught.
He unleashed the Dragon and Tiger Fighting Technique to its fullest, pushing his Body Refining Cultivation to the absolute limit.
His movements suddenly became fluid and unpredictable. Like an elusive dragon, he weaved through the black hurricane with the ease of someone taking a leisurely stroll.
At times, he was like a fierce tiger descending a mountain, his fists like cannonballs, imbued with a tyrannical force that could tear anything asunder. At others, he was like a nimble snake striking from its den, his fingers and palms targeting vital joints with cunning precision. He even began integrating the various principles of the Golden Bell Prison-Suppression Fist—shocking, shattering, slamming, and rebounding—into his attacks. Wherever his fists landed, they carried not only ferocious power but also a strange, vibrating Piercing Power that made even the Black Ape Demon Monarch’s indestructible flesh feel waves of discomfort.
"BANG! BANG! BANG! BANG! BANG!"
The impacts came as fast as rain on broad leaves, yet each one sounded as heavy as a great hammer striking a bell. The endless barrage of explosions rang out high above Little Sumeru Mountain, echoing for miles in every direction.
Two figures, one gray and one black, moved like a pair of runaway meteors. They clashed madly in the air, on the mountaintop, and over the ruins—colliding, tangling, separating, and crashing into each other again, endlessly.
Wherever they passed, mountains crumbled and the earth split. Nothing could withstand their passage.
A rocky hill, hundreds of feet tall, that once served as a viewing point next to the Vajra Sect’s training grounds was grazed by a sweeping strike from the Black Ape Demon Monarch’s colossal arm. The entire top half of the hill was sheared off as cleanly as if it were made of tofu, sending a rain of shattered rock pouring down.
The shockwave from one of Xia Wuyang’s punches struck the bed of a clear stream flowing along the mountainside. The stream was instantly cut off as its water shot skyward, where the intense heat of their Spirit Blood auras evaporated most of it into a vast cloud of white mist.
The last few iconic buildings of the Vajra Sect—the Scripture Pavilion, the Relic Tower—were finally caught in the crossfire of a vicious collision between the two. They collapsed with a deafening roar, becoming two massive piles of rubble. Nothing was left.
