ROAR!!!!!
A guttural, bestiary demonic roar of burning hot anger that could rival the explosive bang of ten supernovas in intensity spread across the Dark Void between the Creation and Transforming Zones, originating from the subspatial realm of the Incinerated Dominion's core. It pierced aggressively through its spatial membrane, pulsing outwards with total disregard for the souls it disrupted, the eardrums that ruptured on the spot, or the lifeforces that were snuffed out out of pure terror.
All eyes carrying the power of Soul Perception shifted toward the sound's origin, without a single exception within the Utmost Purity Galaxy.
Su Yi decapitated a Mystic Overlord with a single swing, weakening their joint amalgamation of mystic power, and inducing great chaos. The sound swept across them, and several Mystic Overlords that were severely injured, teetering on the edge of complete exhaustion and the desire to retreat with their lives, suddenly had blank gazes as their remaining lifeforce was eradicated.
Su Yi turned his focus to the subspace realm. His calm expression that had remained completely unfazed upon the execution of his enemies was shattered entirely in that moment. Shock and disbelief suffused every muscle and skin cell on his face, as fear pulsed within his normally unshakeable pupils. Reflected within his gaze was a disastrous, horrifying occurrence.
Afrit-tuza was latched onto by the starfish Star-Devourer with four out of five of its rays, whose tube feet exerted an irresistible suction force, siphoning Afrit-tuza's innate energies with reckless abandon, showcasing no restraint as its body was entirely in flames. It didn't seem remotely in pain, however. In fact, the lone ray that was freely waving about, joyfully absorbing the energies of the ambient environment, seemed to be in bliss.
The once monstrous and fearsomely muscular Shard of Heaven that took the form of a demonic entity of fire and physical strength was scrawny and dry, almost resembling a dessicated corpse. It had shrunk by two-thirds of its original size, and the starfish Star-Devourer accommodated that change, slowly shrinking as it did to match. Moreover, it was covered in lacerations glimmering with a golden metallic glow.
Pakhet wielded her golden khopesh forged from her bones defensively, fending off the sporadic beams of solar energy blasted out of the starfish's eyespots, while it expectedly maneuvered itself attached to Afrit-tuza, any attack that she got through was swiftly directed to the Shard of Heaven as a meatshield.
The starfish was abnormally efficient in battle, clearly possessing significant experience in fighting against multiple opponents and adapting to circumstances. Moreover, Pakhet was rather non-committal to her attacks, not utilizing her full strength or striking with killing intent. Instead, she was familiarizing herself with her various powers as an Enlightened Sage after Afrit-tuza was captured.
The roaring cry was the Afrit-tuza's deathly instinct as its quintessential energies were ruthlessly absorbed, tapping into the very essence of its existence as its foundational energy was drained. There was nothing else for it to give. It was a cry for help.
To whoever could hear. To whoever would help. It needed help.
"SAVE ME!"
Wei Wuyin gazed indifferently at this development. Who knew how many cultivators had the same feeling as it incinerated them into nothing? How many had families? How many had dreams? How many just wanted to fight for treasure and fortune, unfairly eradicated by this demon by leveraging its homefield advantage.
He did not pity this creature.
Fortunately for Afrit-tuza, others did—Su Yi! He wasn't the only one as Sovereign Primal Star, whose Soul Resonating Art was on the verge of causing qi deviation, heard its throes in the face of death. She, in her chaotic state, bellowed outward to the Dark Void with an enraged and steely tone: "I'LL OWE YOU!"
It was only three words yet the implications caused all who heard it to feel a tremble within their souls.
The words didn't seem to be geared toward the She-Devil Sword Sovereign, yet it caused her to undergo a dramatic shift in aura and attitude. She wielded her sword with both hands, clutching at its hilt with the strength to crush stars and planets with ease.
Her resonant qi ignited.
"What?!" Sovereign Darkmother and the rest exclaimed, gasped, or widened their eyes. Then, they saw that the She-Devil Sword Sovereign's entire body was enveloped by azure soul fire, a sign of the ignition of one's Resonant Soul! The azure color was almost instantly overwhelmed by an unforgettable blood-red hue.
A hymn of the heavens rang true; there was no soul that didn't hear it across the entire Utmost Purity Galaxy. They could feel the heavens. They could hear the heavens. Even the starfish halted its absorption at this moment, focusing every ounce of its attention on the overwhelming presence of the heavens.
The Resonant Soul Realm was the cultivation stage where the cultivation of Laws were primary, vital to the continuation and depth of one's foundation, and while current societal standards of the thirty-three galaxies had evolved to involve mortals grasping Laws, conceiving and nurturing them, this did little to detract from the importance of communing with the Heavenly Laws and their respective realms.
To resonate with forces beyond the Mortal and Mystic. To touch upon the foundation of their existential basis, emulating it, before establishing a soul with the same power as the heavens, thereby achieving true immortality.
That was the basis. Ignition! Not a single Resonant Soul Realm expert present had thought this would occur!
Wei Wuyin's indifferent gaze collapsed, rising anew as the glorious shine of excitement and expectation.
Sovereign Vilesnow was flabbergasted, genuinely and utterly speechless. Then, he felt his existential presence was locked onto by an unbearably oppressive spiritual strength that defied the foundation of common sense. Only someone such as Wei Wuyin, who had enraged the River of Time, the Heavenly Daos, and the World could fully appreciate the terrifying containment he was experiencing.
Fear spread throughout his Resonant Soul with pervasive hunger, daring to consume every ounce of his will to fight. And it did. With his entire being, he shouted out with terror-lacing his voice and unwillingness blooming in his eyes.
"WHA-WHAT ARE YOU DOING?!" He asked.
However, in this life of his, he would only utter a single additional word, also a question, and both answers would forever remain unheard by his ears.
The She-Devil Sword Sovereign lifted her sword upwards above her head, two hands on its hilt, and then—
SHE SWUNG IT DOWN! A single flash of red sword light as flitting as a mere blink of an eye occurred. The entire Utmost Purity Galaxy that was engulfed by layers of seven-colored mist was painted a beautifully soulful red.
Wei Wuyin and everyone else watched as the snow-white cloud of poisonous miasma that served as Sovereign Vilesnow's protective ward was cut into, finding his true body, and as he unleashed the Soulguard Absconding with his every ounce of remaining strength, holding nothing back, it did little good. He escaped for perhaps a single femtosecond before the sword light severed into his body, his soul, his Resonant Soul, and his existential framework.
There was nothing it didn't cut through. And with it was the final question that echoed throughout the Utmost Purity Galaxy, extending so far that it almost touched the neighboring galaxies:
"Why?"
"..."
A silence descended across the entire galaxy. Only the line of red sword light that was oddly beautiful stretched from her original location to roughly three million miles away from the Transforming Zone's galactic boundary. It was slender, like thin glass, solidified by the mixture of crystallized spatial energy and traces of Heavenly Force.
"I won!" Wei Wuyin unceremoniously declared as the intense feelings of shock, disbelief, horror, amazement, and confusion burrowed themselves into the hearts, minds, and souls of every Supreme Sage and existences of similar strength.
Shockingly, even Sovereign Primal Star was taken aback as her state of chaos seemed to have been halted out of incredulity in its purest form!
The red-haired, bravely sensual-dressed woman was slowly breaking down at the seams. Her Resonant Soul was ignited, and typically, there was no coming back from such a disastrous choice, especially from an unconsolidated Microheaven Envoy.
Two Supreme Sages would die today. An event that not a single individual present had thought would occur. Not. A. Single. One.
Wei Wuyin was no exception to this. However, mutually assured destruction had always been a surefire way to end your enemy as a cultivator, and this rule seemed to remain constant even as a Supreme Sage.
"Why would she do that?" Sovereign Rainmother gently asked as her gaze looking saddened as if on the verge of tears. However, Wei Wuyin felt that such an emotion was mostly attributed to the loss of two mystic-heaven stones. That was no small amount.
"Stupid bitch. You spend your entire life cultivating to this point, just to throw it away?" Sovereign Seafather's eyes contained a raw, unrestrained disdain, even his lips were twisted into a mocking smile. His dislike for the She-Devil Sword Sovereign was extraordinarily deep.
Meanwhile, Skyfather looked toward the distance. The words of Sovereign Primal Star might have seemed to be sent outwards without direction, but a notable aura within the Dark Void had stirred greatly. In the end, they held back from acting.
This all happened between the time of She-Devil Sword Sovereign's brilliant sword slash and Primal Star Sovereign's bargaining to owe someone. Clearly, the person had thought about it and refused, likely forcing that pirate into acting heedless of her life or death.
As her physical body was experiencing a systemic collapse of flesh, the She-Devil Sword Sovereign weakly spoke out with the last of her strength: "Save...them..."
Two words yet it conveyed her reasoning without a shadow of a doubt. Primal Star Sovereign's fluctuating form was still inconsistent until that moment, where she executed some form of spell, stabilizing herself, and receding the Solar Star form of hers. She returned to a divinely beautiful appearance, only that the edges of her eyes had minute fissures, so did her fingertips and sides of her lips.
Her gaze was no longer emotionless as it had been before, only filled with unwavering resolve. The pupils of her eyes reflected the startling red road of sword light that stretched for billions of miles, granting it an irresistible charm. With a soft inhale, her chest rising upwards, she used her resonant qi to execute her movement art!
The situation was about to change yet again!
Wei Wuyin glanced at her blazing path toward the central region of the fiery zone and thoughtfully considered taking action. After some thought, he didn't do so. Instead, he focused on the collapsing body and soul of the lone Void Pirate. Others eyed it like a treasure.
"I'm going to save her," Wei Wuyin openly declared. Then, under the shocked gazes of the Supreme Sages, he vanished. Even when the Sovereign Seafather wanted to take action to halt him, a swirl of six auras of Laws surrounding his body briefly halted his intervening action as fear pierced his mind.
Six?!
As they were tongue-tied by this discovery, Wei Wuyin appeared before the She-Devil Sword Sovereign's crumbling body. She looked at him. There was the unyielding urge to fight to the very last moment, ready to pull down one more or inflict catastrophic damage to those daring to take advantage of her final moments.
Wei Wuyin sensed that and smiled. "Do you wish to live?" Her eyes widened somewhat, yet she couldn't speak. She floated in the Dark Void like a dead fish.
Wei Wuyin brought out a Soul Pill with a gentle wave of his hand. The Soul Pill at the low-perfection, yet it exuded an undeniable presence of heavenly purity and alchemical scent. This was not his Soul Pill, but the one he had stolen from the late Guo Heng, belonging to the Zenith Refinement Tower.
When the pill appeared, the eyes of this so-called She-Devil widened with radiant hope.
"Three requests, within reason. Acceptable?" Wei Wuyin offered. Then, before the She-Devil Sword Sovereign could give any indication of agreement, he used his Alchemic Akashic Mystic Force to integrate the Soul Pill with her body, directly bypassing her body and refining it into her destabilized Resonant Soul.
"Let's see if your decision affects anything," Wei Wuyin smilingly said.

Erdiul's Note: Women dying in front of Wei Wuyin? Lmfao, not happening. Hell, I'm not even sure the Long Chen obsessed dragon chick from the earlier chapters is dead. Being a woman in PoS is so OP.
