Genius Archer's Streaming
Season 5: Chapter 168. Group B (1)
Many people flocked to Streamer Garden, enough to make the server stutter briefly. Having waited a long time for this event, many were itching to say their piece, especially the Paprika users who just claimed the first victory.
[#1. Clearing out all that mold, feeling refreshed~]
[#2. Tuna Swordfish movement earlier]
[#3. Cheese slowly melting]
[#4. Cheese all out is this for real?]
[#5. Cheese losing its toppings gg]
These posts generally mocked Cheese's performance. Cheese's users were hurting, but losing meant they had no firepower. Getting to trending was a stretch. Only a few independence fighters continued fighting in the comments.
— Wow are they already doing this?
— Paprika loyalists are so persistent
— This post is about to get “hey there’d”
— Making a fuss over 1 out of 10 games lmaooo
The price of resistance was devastating. Enormous mockery, ridicule, and condemnation poured onto them.
└ Trying hard lmaooooooooo
└ 1 out of 10 games? When you're good at a game, you see everything from one game smh
└ Need to actually know the game before talking lmaooo Cheese mold
└ Surprising fact: Bubblegum hasn't even appeared yet lmaooo
└ Hey there? lmaooo that only works in Cheese's own space, not here
The Platform War was being fought on three levels simultaneously. First, the war where streamers went in and fought directly. Second, the promotional war between platforms. Third, the community war where fans fought to prove their beliefs. These wars seemed separate, but were actually all connected.
When streamers lost, fans were affected. This naturally meant promotion suffered too. The most important things were the streamers' wins and losses and the fans' mental fortitude. The former was for the streamers, the latter for the fans.
Someone among the fans created something.
[Cheese Shelter]
This small-scale Garden had been created to cheer on Cheese. It was a kind of refuge. Cheese fans gathered there after being practically driven out, licking each other's wounds.
[Cheese is so heartbreaking...]
[Treevy come back!]
[Damn failed company]
[Wow but we did get properly stomped...]
[Group A seems like Paprika will get at least 4 teams through...]
[It's okay, this is only game 1 lmaooo. If we win later, everyone flips again]
Painful and sad points flooded in while anything hopeful was nowhere to be found. Why?
The analyst and Orange King predicted quite a dark future.
[From what Red Glasses said, it looks like basically no hope...]
Did you see the analyst's expression after the game? Isn't that literally the face of someone watching a broadcast fail? lmaooo
[What Orange King said at the analysis desk]
If things turn out the same way again, there's no answer.
The depth of understanding a 25-person strategy is too different.
Have to hope that Cheese's Group B brought something different.
— Red Glasses gets excited about nothing as usual
— Orange King is saying that too?
— Is Group B different???
└ They would have shared good strategies together... can it really be different?
— Ah... is it over?
The panelists didn't usually say extreme things. Saying bad things about Cheese made the fans even more anxious.
[Is what Orange King said possible? Different strategies from each other??]
Most of all, what Orange King described as a solution or hope looked practically impossible to realize.
— No way the strategy is different between A and B lmaooo. They practiced together?? Lmaooo
└ Guess so...
└ Yeah...
Having different strategies per group seemed realistically impossible. The only hope was each team’s physicality. Group B had Cheese's upper-ranked teams advancing.
— Just hope they physically overpower them... then at least 3 teams might get through...
└ lmaooooooo even 3 teams is enough to end it
└ The moment you're outnumbered, it's just over
└ Did you not watch the 25 vs 25? Lmaooo
Only three teams at best could hope to physically dominate. Even if three teams advanced, the main round would have to be played as a 35 vs 15 situation. Cheese would be helpless there.
— Have to get at least five teams through to the main round
Cheese absolutely needed five teams in the main round.
— We're done...
— Wow
— I see
— Wow teaming up is genuinely terrible lmaooo
— Why did they make such a rule
└ Honestly the rule isn't the issue lmao, winning is super fun
└ Cheese was disadvantaged, so it's advantageous if they could team too...
└ We lost so that's why^^
└ One Paprika loyalist snuck in here
Looking at every scenario, only despair arose.
Then, someone lit a spark of hope.
[Wait but the slave dispatch strategy hasn't come out yet, right?]
Whoosh!
Like an actual fire igniting, comments flooded in.
— I see
— Wow
— True???
— Wow
— Right Group B is the only one with slaves fr
└ Well that's just because there's only one slave team...
└ Still
— Didn't they just scrap it?
— You think they'd actually do that lmaooooo
└ Paprika does stuff like that too though
└ Paprika does basically a simple version like rush football tactics, but the slave dispatch seems genuinely insane to execute
└ Almond's brain can't control something like that anyway
└ Oh...
— Wow the dispatch strategy lmaooo, right would they actually use that???
They wanted to have hope, but didn't actually know anything properly about the dispatch strategy.
Cheese had kept the dispatch strategy strictly under wraps. Feedback was also conducted with mics and screens off, so no viewers knew. Not many believed it had a realistic chance of being implemented because the dispatch strategy they'd seen was too incomplete. It was a completely absurd idea.
After the analysis desk segment finished, the caster returned.
"Now, Group B’s match is starting soon! Players are boarding the airships!"
"While you're speaking! Right now, a key player! Is on the screen!"
"Starting with Paprika, who just claimed the earlier victory!"
With the caster's signal, the screen appeared.
[KEY PLAYER]
[Omelette]
"Oh. Paprika's key player! Oh! Mle! Eeeeet!!!"
With the caster's name call, his stats and career history appeared.
Orange King explained, "A former pro and indeed a famous player, but this player was someone who absolutely NEVER played Survival mode! And he came out for Survival!?"
The analyst answered, "Yes. Oh... which is why money is scary, right? Omelette was always shouting the slogan 'Make
LIL
Great Again!' and saying
LIL
needs to return to its roots. Survival? Escort mode? Get rid of this weak mode. He always said that kind of thing. Apparently, the Platform War was too big to decline."
— lmaooooooooooo
— lmaooooo
— What lmaooo
— Just a clown in the end smh
— lmaooooooooo
— Turncoat lmaooo
— Clown is right fr, he's a streamer
— But he's a key player???
The caster asked what the viewers would be wondering. "Oh, so he’s barely played Survival mode at all, but he’s still a key player?"
"Oh yes. Despite that, he carried quite significantly on the team and pulled the Brunch team up to third in the scrimmage rankings. Currently, they’re evaluated as the strongest team, and he’s the strongest player in Group B Paprika."
— What
— Talent monster as expected lmaooo
— If you do it, you do it well~
— Oh that's the guy, that really loud one
— Omelette fighting!
— Mode-changing snake smh
"Okay. Player Omelette, as expected of a former pro, shows quite a well-rounded upper-mid range stat distribution and looks very strong. Not much different from Tuna Swordfish, whom we saw earlier."
Tuna Swordfish was a former pro player evaluated as the top ace on Paprika.
Orange King cut in to correct. "No! There was a big difference in their playing days!? The graph just can't display something that high! The scale of it is too small!"
"Oh...! The display doesn't go all the way?"
— lmaooooooooooo
— Oh no lmaooo
— Completely different caliber in their playing days
— even a Challenger gets stomped so lol
— lmaooooo
"Now, let's look at Cheese's key player. Cheese just got crushed in Group A, so someone tremendous needs to come out now."
With the caster's signal, they moved to the next screen.
"Oh... yes... that..."
The caster was flustered, but not because the person they expected as a key player didn't appear. The expected person did appear. The face was definitely that person, but the name was different.
[DumbYoungMan]
It was an unfamiliar and shocking name.
The caster adjusted his glasses. "Oh... oh... isn't this Almond? This person? Was there another person who looked like this..."
He wondered if he was getting old and misremembering.
— lmaooooooooooooooooo
— LOL
— Oh right it's their first time seeing it hahaha
— lmaooooo
— lmaooooooooo
— Dumb stat chart, the name lives up to itself lmaooo
— Dumb what??
— What are those stats lmaooo
— Intellect: 0 LOL
The viewers burst into laughter at the caster's reaction.
Orange King explained, "Zero intellect with MAX physicality, that confirms it's the same person. The appearance rating looks MAXXED too."
For the Platform War, they'd made player stats for fun. These completely unreliable numbers were just for mocking players or conversation purposes. Still, Almond's intellect couldn't actually be zero, right?
"Oh, there's an appearance stat too?"
There wasn't an appearance stat.
"No. That's clearly visible already."
"Oh..."
— lmaooooooooo
— fr
— Just visible so why put it in lmaooo
— lmaooooo
— Appearance MAXXED
— Actually the strongest stat
The caster, nonetheless, gave a thunderous name call. "Oh, it’s the key player! Duuuumb! Yooooooung! Maaaan!!!"
Pfft...!
Not just Orange King, but even Red Glasses, who always maintained a blank expression, turned his head and briefly composed himself.
— lmaooooooooooooooooooo
— Name call so funny lmaooo
— LOL
— This is genuinely a legendary nickname
— Wow...
— Dumb Young Man lmaooooo
Uproarious laughter echoed through the entire stadium. EggPlant, sitting a couple of seats away from RubySword, was caught on camera laughing his head off.
— What
— EggPlant lmaooo
— EggPlant what's with the red outfit?? lmaooo
— What is that person doing?
Surprisingly, EggPlant was glowing red.
"Now that we've looked at the key players! We'll bring out the Group B players!"
Whoooooooosh...!
[Players Enter]
Almond, the Knight Order, and all Group B players were teleported inside the stadium.
'Oh.'
Almond was surprised by the scale compared to the last streamer competition. Group B had already seen Group A play, so the shock would probably be less.
"YEAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAA!!"
However, the enormous roar stiffened everyone's expressions.
"Wow, there are so many people."
"Wow, hearing it here, the sound isn't normal."
Hah...
Only Sweet Radish and Almond maintained their composure.
"Let's go. That way."
Almond encouraged the group and moved forward. The survival airship could be seen.
[Cheese Group B]
The airships were divided into Cheese and Paprika from the start. On the way in, other team members could be seen.
Phew.
Did you see Group A, Lord? We're still doing it the same way, right?"
"Yes, Zelo. Apparently, it's better that way."
Zelo had come over to confirm the strategy. He looked quite tense too.
Phew...
what I heard is right then. Damn... my heart is pounding..."
Zelo rarely competed in these kinds of tournaments, so he wasn’t used to it. Large-scale collaborative broadcasts like Cheese Village were also an exception for him. With Treevy gone and the change to Cheese, he'd been stretching himself for the platform's revival.
"For now, let's board, Lord."
"Yes."
With Almond at the front, all of Cheese Group B boarded the airship.
Hummmmm...!
The airship rose. Then, the entire stadium audience came into view at once.
"Wow, damn..."
Hm?
What? Everyone's being too much."
"Weren’t the odds five to five?"
The streamers murmured. Outside the windows, red lights dominated the view.
[Match Prediction]
[Paprika 7.6:Cheese 2.4]
The earlier match had completely flipped everyone's predictions.
"Everyone, what are you doing! Each team leader! To the map!" Almond called them to the map.
They needed to choose where to land.
— Almond is pumped LOL
— lmaooo you all have to split~ lmaooo
— Dumb Young Man is giving orders!
— lmaooooooooo
— You'd go if he told you to get a Dumb Young Man label on your head?? lmaooo
