[Game Over]
The Knight Order wrapped up every game in first place.
Whoosh!
All the streamers gathered in the lobby. Everyone murmured about the Knight Order's results.
"Hey, apparently the Knight Order got first in everything."
"What?"
"Wow, incredible."
"Isn't that exactly what their coach said would happen?"
Some people recalled what the Knight Order's coach had said because it had been quite memorable.
"She said the same thing again today. That they'd get first in everything."
Sa-Rang had said they would win first place from here on out, all the way through. Something like that wouldn't leave people's heads because those words were essentially saying that all the listeners wouldn't get first. And it came true.
"Insane?"
"Wow, so they actually did it? Like flipping a palm?"
"No way... who even is that person?"
The surprise at the Knight Order's results lasted only briefly. Soon, most streamers' topics shifted elsewhere.
"This is all because of Donuts hyung!"
They wanted to blame the culprit within the team.
— Political maneuvering right out the gate lmaooo
— lmaooo on what grounds
— Suddenly?
The Nonghyup had repeatedly failed to get first and been made a fool of by the Knight Order. Team morale wasn't good.
"What!? M-me!? Why me!?"
The first person blamed in the Nonghyup was Donuts.
"No, listen. We just had to do what we did yesterday. Why make a risky move?"
Horn Ramen came down hard on him.
"Hey, if we were just going to do what we did yesterday, what's the point of a scrimmage!? Is that practice? Hm? What good is doing well only on mock exams!"
"No, hyung. This scrimmage isn't just practice. You said it determines our ranking too!"
"Our ranking is already high enough! Hm? By the numbers, we're still in around third or fourth!"
"We could have gotten first, but you sank us to third or fourth in a single day!"
The angry side yelling was actually in a better position because this was closer to showmanship for the viewers to see.
— lmaooooo blaming Donuts for this?
— Does that even make sense?
— Horn Ramen, what did you do?
— Donuts designed everything and carried these scrap-tier people this far;
— Sigh lmaooo
— Horn Ramen actually plays survival decently? His fans don't know anything~
— Given the circumstances, they did well
The viewers' reactions weren't particularly sharp either, just this and that talk. The ones with real problems were actually the quiet ones.
"Ha. Hmm... everyone worked hard."
They just said things like that while quietly glaring at the streamer beside them, exchanging seemingly peaceful conversation while stabbing each other in the back.
"Oh... wasn't this actually about the early landing point issue? I kind of want to review that."
"It could be, but wasn't the teamfight toward the end just really bad?"
Landing points and teamfights were all just pretexts. Ultimately, they wanted to say, “You were the one who played badly.”
"Hmm. I think it was off from the landing point design."
"The landing point was just fine. You know, there are a lot of variables in landing. It might be better to focus on the teamfight..."
"Right. Right... lots of variables..."
— What the...
— The atmosphere is completely tanked fr
— Suffocating lmaooo
On top of this, situations varied. Two people were talking while the rest just looked down and stayed quiet. Entire groups went completely silent.
"Phew..."
"Haah..."
They either went silent or sighed. The chat even dwindled, and viewers started leaving.
— Ugh can't watch
— What are they doing
— Say something!!
Where would these departing viewers go? Obviously, to a place where they could vent. They flooded to the community boards.
[Streamer Garden]
On scrimmage days, posts with team names in the title exploded in numbers. People who had been discussing Almond's donation rankings just before the scrimmage were now only talking about the scrimmage.
[(Hambugeez) Damn, the team is a mess because of one certain person]
[(CanCantCant) Honestly, stealing Bubblegum's Iron Ball crossed a line? This could literally be brought to the human rights commission]
[(MagicGirls) Why is Miho being sulky when she played badly herself? Genuinely don't get it]
[(Hambugeez) Reasons why you remove the pickle from a burger.jpg]
[(MagicGirls) Obviously, there's a spy here, but why are they looking for the culprit in the wrong place? One person isn't even a girl, right?]
[(MagicGirls) Miho haters crew is back]
In all of this, no one argued about the Knight Order winning first place. Comments about them came down to exactly one trending post.
[#1. What? Cheese Village? Platform War?]
Just these guys.
(photo)
G O A T
"The Knights"
— lmaooo the photo is crazy
— Photo set to Survival Craft so they look like scrubs lol
— I worship them...
— Fr this
— Just these guys~ lmaooo
Nothing else needed to be said. The Knight Order was Cheese's top stock right now. Given this situation, the Nonghyup's earlier words came flying back like a boomerang.
[#2. The Nonghyup said “We're family, not business,” current status.jpg]
Fighting like dogs lmaooo
(photo)
— That place is genuinely a disaster
— lmaooooooooo
— Old men fighting over each other's hair lmaooo
— lmaooooo
— ??? You need business~ to have family! You worthless amateurs!
└ lmaooooooo
└ True though~
— If it were a restaurant analogy, the Nonghyup is a Korean set-meal place that has three portions of eggplant stir-fry
└ lmaooooooo ewww
└ Three old men running the shop
└ Old man stir-fry
└ Old man stir-fry lmaooo
— FYI: Family hits a lower floor than business
└ lmaooooooo
└ fr once things go sideways there's no answer
└ lmaooo so relatable
└ Better a business breakup than a family breakup lmaooo
— That's why they lose to the Knight Order smh
— Knight Order was a business but they turned out to be a publicly listed company~
Like this, all values were reorganized and re-evaluated with the Knight Order as the center. This was the sweet reward that came back to the winner. However, there was also this post.
[#3. But the Knight Order won't be overall 1st, right?]
They only got 1st in the last game on day one, and were trash otherwise.
Probably can't get overall 1st?
— Fr
— Really??
— True
— Apparently the Nonghyup is 1st
— They just did well for one day and people are overreacting
— This is relative ranking so we'd need to look
Meanwhile, the coaches' gathered in a channel.
[Coach Chat]
The coaches' conversations were loud and lively. They talked about the same topic as on the ground: the Knight Order's all-first-place result.
"Unbelievable..."
"Insane."
"What in the world is this?"
"To think the gap could be this big?"
However, the conversation flowed somewhat differently.
"No, how do you get first place in all games in a luck-based mode?"
They knew the Knight Order had good base stats, but Survival mode was full of luck. How could they win first place every time?
Takoyaki explained, "If we say that luck is about 20% of it, then the Knight Order's skills far exceed that 20%."
Everyone found it hard to accept. Why?
"In Survival mode, luck can sway nearly 50% of the game?"
In Survival mode, luck was a variable that genuinely couldn't be ignored. In extreme cases of bad luck, it became severely disadvantageous.
"This game was made so that even without skills, you could manage to win at least once. Right?"
If Siege's founding motto was settling who had the greatest skills, Survival was the opposite. It was a format full of lucky-break elements, designed to give even poor players a chance to get first place once. It was a rest zone for those exhausted by Siege's endless competition.
At this, Takoyaki corrected himself one more time. "That's why I said if luck were 20% of it."
At those words, everyone's eyes went wide. Takoyaki's words meant the Knight Order's skills were enough to negate even that large element of luck.
'Then they're better by 50% or more?'
'Well... the results came out that way...'
'Nothing to say.'
Everyone seemed to have a lot to say, but couldn't bring themselves to say it due to the overwhelming results. They could do nothing but accept it.
Someone small slipped out behind the coaches.
[Green Beans]
"Hmm... but shouldn't we look at the overall rankings?"
He was small in stature, but one of the most trusted coaches here because he had been one of the people who'd brought the Nonghyup team of three old men to their current position.
"The Knight Order's first day results weren't that good."
Meanwhile, in the streamers' waiting channel, Camebert appeared in front of everyone.
Pop.
"Everyone worked hard, warriors of Cheese."
— Warriors lmaooooooo
— Calling them warriors...
— Warriors of Cheese
— lmaooooooo
"As announced, our scrimmage is for practice but also aims to identify which teams are the best among us."
With those words, a screen appeared behind Camebert.
"Now... we should see how the overall rankings have turned out, shouldn't we?"
Ding!
Light flooded the lobby as the overall rankings appeared.
"Now, this is everyone's 'rank.'"
1. Knight Order
2. Magical Girls
3. Nonghyup & Partners
4. Hambugeez
10. Can't Can't Can't
The results were surprising.
— Can't Can't Can't lmaooooooooo
— lmaooooooo
— The Knight Order is 1st???
— Wow
First, everyone was surprised by two things. One was that the Knight Order was in first place even in the overall standings.
— Can't Can't Can't is dead last???
Team Can't Can't Can't was at the bottom. Just last scrimmage, they'd shown decent results and had a challenger mixed in. Everyone felt baffled by Can't Can't Can't being last.
— Wow the internet wars today will be something
— That team's morale is completely tanked;
— Knight Order
— Bubblegum's curse
Even the Knight Order members talked more about Can't Can't Can't's results than their own.
"Wow... ForeverAlone's team is last?"
"Horrifying."
"They'd better disconnect tonight. That place..."
Amid this, Almond said, "If something comes up, Can't Can't Can't can just tank and die first."
Nobody had brought up the topic of cooperation or teaming up until now. Under the current rules, teaming up wasn’t allowed, but there was a feeling of it being encouraged. That was why they'd pulled out a scrimmage results chart to divide the hierarchy, right? And Can't Can't Can't had ended up last.
"Yes. Correct." Camebert apparently heard Almond and pointed. "Teams with lower rankings become the lower class."
— Wow
— Fr?
— Legendary
— Wow so funny lmaooo
— They're actually doing this?
"And they are to be subordinate to higher-ranking teams, but dividing by all ten ranks is too complicated..."
Camebert gestured, and another chart appeared.
Ding.
King: 1
Nobility: 2
Commoners: 6
Slave: 1
"We've divided everyone into these four classes."
— Wow lmaooooooo
— This is a king game now
— Not even lord anymore, a king
— The King
— King-lord
— But why is the Slave alone there
— Slave lmaooooooo
— Zelo the Slave?!
— I'm losing it lmaooo
"Going forward, you'll need to act in accordance with your class."
At Camebert's words, everyone looked at each other, dumbfounded.
