Chapter 2815 Riding the Wind and Setting Off! Lin Yuan was delighted. Endless Summer’s abilities and exclusive skills were undoubtedly a pleasant surprise for him.
Endless Summer’s divine kingdom ability allowed him never to worry about the plant-type lifeforms he nurtured dying unexpectedly while he was caring for them.
Many plant-type lifeforms were extremely fragile. Despite Lin Yuan’s possession of pure spirit qi, it was still not easy for him to cultivate some plant-type feys.
Endless Summer looked thrilled. She knew that her divine kingdom ability could not only save plant-type lifeforms but would also benefit herself.
If Lin Yuan found a few remarkable plant-type lifeforms and she used Embroidered Flower Form Hearts to form links with them, not only would her body benefit, but she would also gain an endless stream of faith power as they evolved toward World Emperor/Divine Kingdom.
Endless Summer was very enthusiastic about increasing her power. She hoped to increase it as quickly as possible. This would make it easier for her to protect herself and the people she wanted to protect.
Additionally, the competitive atmosphere around Lin Yuan was far too intense. The stronger she became, the better chance she had of competing against the rest.
Every individual had selfish desires, and Endless Summer was no exception.
“Lin Yuan, if that’s the case, I will do my best to use Embroidered Flower Form Hearts to produce as many tree cores as possible.”
Lin Yuan smiled and nodded at Endless Summer before handing her a batch of resources. This batch consisted not only of spirit qi crystals but also of the pupae of the Wood-Building Winged Sandflies.
The Wood-Building Winged Sandflies’ pupae contained wood-elemental energy and were suitable for Endless Summer to absorb.
Lin Yuan had obtained the Wood-Building Winged Sandflies from the Moon Empress and had been carefully nurturing them. He rarely used their pupae.
Now, there was a mulberry orchard in the Spirit Lock spatial zone where millions of Wood-Building Winged Sandflies lived.
Two Deposit Vegetable Pods in human form looked after them, and they would periodically hand Lin Yuan a large batch of them.
Because of this, Lin Yuan no longer lacked pure sources of the four basic types of elemental energy: wind, water, earth, and fire.
When Endless Summer was Sky City’s strongest expert, her abilities and exclusive skills had been skewed toward attack, and she possessed exceptional combat abilities. But as she continued to evolve, her abilities and exclusive skills began moving toward support.
Blooming Summer Link allowed Endless Summer to enable targets that were in contact with her petals to be nourished by the thriving summer energy.
The plants that were nourished by the thriving summer energy would enter the germination stage.
The germination stage was the most active phase of a plant-type lifeform’s growth. During this phase, it could recover from injuries very quickly and regrow damaged body parts.
This ability would not only allow her to support the plant-type lifeforms on their side during combat but could also be used to cultivate plant-type lifeforms on a daily basis, thereby increasing their production volume.
The most basic example would be Endless Summer using Blooming Summer Link to link up with the weather-producing plant-type feys on Sky Sea’s back. This would enable the weather-producing plant-type feys to substantially increase their production of weather phenomena.
Magical Dream Finger was an extremely effective controlling-type ability.
In an instant, all the plant-type energy in the thriving summer would be transformed into mind energy that attacked the target’s mind.
If there was a large number of plant-type lifeforms around Endless Summer, the mind attack would be powerful, and there was a high probability the target’s soul and mind would be put in a dream state.
While their soul and mind were in the dream state, their body would be at the mercy of being butchered.
Once their body was destroyed, their mind and soul would lose their anchor and naturally disintegrate.
It was very difficult to awaken a mind and soul in a dream state. There were only a few divine kingdom abilities that could be used to awaken the mind and soul.
Magical Dream Finger alone would only be seen as a controlling-type ability. But when it was paired with Dream-Stealing Forced Change, it became a controlling-type prerequisite ability.
She would then be able to investigate the target and learn about the target’s life. When used on an enemy captive, they would be able to learn all about the enemy’s circumstances.
Moreover, Dream-Stealing Forced Change could also be used to tamper with the target’s dreams to alter their experiences. This would affect the target’s reality.
However, doing this would cause Endless Summer to suffer backlash when she returned to reality.
This backlash could cost Endless Summer her life. Hence, unless it was absolutely necessary, Lin Yuan would only ask Endless Summer to investigate the target but not alter the target’s dream state.
Lin Yuan would not recklessly ask his subordinates to undertake dangerous tasks.
Aside from these abilities, Endless Summer had also gained two new exclusive skills: Tree Core Cycle and Thriving Summer Territory.
Endless Summer’s original tree core had been destroyed, and the Lifeform Sacrificial Fire had taken its place. She had also absorbed the Sky-Covering Weeping Willow’s tree core. As such, Endless Summer had become a plant-type lifeform that possessed multiple tree cores.
Tree cores were the plant-type lifeforms’ energy cores. By possessing two tree cores, Endless Summer was akin to a human who possessed two hearts. It was an occurrence that seemed to only appear in fairy tales.
But with Tree Core Cycle, Endless Summer’s body could contain multiple tree cores. The tree cores would form a perfect cycle in her body. The more tree cores she possessed, the more energy Endless Summer’s body would receive. These tree cores would speed up the rate at which Endless Summer recovered energy in her body.
Lin Yuan thought, It looks like I’ll need to find more tree cores for Endless Summer in the Sky Beyond the Clouds. Then, I’ll use my resources to help her absorb more tree cores. This will further expand Thriving Summer Territory.
Thriving Summer Territory allowed Endless Summer to use her energy to bring forth a thriving summer regardless of the environment she was in. This would turn her surroundings into a safe haven.
Within her safe haven, the effects of Blooming Summer Link on the plant-type lifeforms would become even stronger. All the plant-type lifeforms, with the inclusion of Endless Summer, would be nourished and boosted by the thriving summer environment in the safe haven.
If Endless Summer only had two tree cores, the boosting effects of the exclusive skill would be rather ordinary.
Lin Yuan’s current perspective and experience were terrifying. He had nurtured far too many excellent feys, and regular exclusive skills could not catch his eye.
But if Endless Summer absorbed more tree cores and used the energy in them to activate Thriving Summer Territory, the effects would be unimaginable.
Lin Yuan looked at his companion who had developed perfectly and was promptly filled with a profound sense of pride.
He had a part to play in the growth of all his companions. It was a special and amazing feeling!
... Once Liu Jie returned, he earnestly prepared a table full of dishes.
Blood Love and Endless Summer had large appetites. Since they were going to eat, they had to eat their fill.
When night came, Lin Yuan did not go to sleep. Rather, he stood on the balcony and looked out at the Return from Faraway Mansion at night.
In the past ten years, he had traveled to almost every corner of the main world.
But now that he was truly about to leave, Lin Yuan felt rather reluctant.
Lin Yuan let out a sigh and summoned Genius and Chimey. Just like him, these two fellows were unrecognizable from their original selves.
If someone claimed that Lin Yuan, once labeled a useless cripple, Chimey, a Sound Bird unable to sing, and Genius, a Hundred Questions Beast with matted fur, could reach this level of growth, not even Chu Ci, his closest relative, would have believed it.
As Chimey and Genius’ strength grew, their intelligence also came to surpass that of regular humans.
Both of them knew that Lin Yuan was feeling sentimental. They leaped up onto Lin Yuan’s shoulders and silently accompanied him. They also looked in the same direction he was looking, out at the window toward the Submerged Flood Dragon Lake in the distance.
Neither Genius nor Chimey felt a sense of belonging to the Radiance Federation or the main world.
To the two of them, any place with Lin Yuan was their home. This was because they had not felt a shred of warmth before their paths crossed with Lin Yuan.
Lin Yuan finally looked away and began stroking Genius and Chimey.
At that moment, Genius spoke. “Yuan, I know what you’re thinking. Going to the Sky Beyond the Clouds is the best choice. You are being held back in this world. It won’t benefit you to be restricted by this world’s world wills. You will only be able to better protect the main world once you leave for the Sky Beyond the Clouds.
“Fan Lou is able to help hide the aura of the main world’s World Emperor/Divine Kingdom experts because he has the protection and support of the Chaos Wind Demon Wolves. If the day comes that they stop shielding him and he loses his position as a Boundary Patrol Envoy, the main world will once again be exposed to the experts from the Sky Beyond the Clouds.
“The Sky Beyond the Clouds isn’t a peaceful place. Regardless of how careful Fan Lou tries to be, accidents could take place at any time.”
As Lin Yuan listened to Genius’ analysis, he knew that Genius was trying to comfort him.
Genius was always warm-hearted like that. Rather than saying that Genius was lucky to have met him, it was more accurate to say that he was lucky that he had been able to save Genius.
Chimey was not skilled at comforting others, but while Genius was comforting Lin Yuan, Chimey began singing a soft tune.
Any sound produced by Chimey was inexplicably pleasant. Lin Yuan relished the time with Genius and Chimey.
Lin Yuan did not feel nervous or perplexed in the slightest about going to the Sky Beyond the Clouds. Rather, it filled him with burning enthusiasm.
He was done putting his crew together. Once he arrived at the Sky Beyond the Clouds, he would have to strengthen himself while making a name for himself among all the species who lived there.
The moonlight at 3:00 a.m. shone brilliantly. It was currently the height of summer. In another hour, the first rays of sunlight would begin spreading across the sky, putting an end to the brooding and reflective night.
Lin Yuan went to the patch of grass that sat next to the main manor. It was there that Lin Yuan, Liu Jie, and Wen Yu sat cross-legged all that time ago and decided to set up Sky City together.
Lin Yuan bumped into Wen Yu on the first floor of the manor. When Wen Yu saw Lin Yuan, her gaze softened to tenderness. “Young Master, you can’t sleep either? I was about to go out to sit on the grass.”
Lin Yuan raised an eyebrow. “That’s exactly what I was going to do!” As the two of them walked out of the main mansion, they saw Liu Jie lying on the grass with his legs crossed. He was staring up at the moonlight-illuminated clouds floating across the night sky.
Liu Jie rose when he heard the footsteps behind him. After seeing they belonged to Lin Yuan and Wen Yu, he let out two peals of laughter.
“I didn’t think that the two of you would be getting any sleep tonight. You would definitely come to sit here through the night!”
Liu Jie stood up before sitting back down cross-legged. This sight caused Lin Yuan and Wen Yu to feel sentimental.
Back then, the three of them had also sat together in cross-legged positions. They were akin to newly born calves who had just begun learning about the world and were filled with hope.
With their solid foundations, none of them had been afraid. This applied even when they established Sky City and had to take on the top faction Connected Beast Park.
Now, as they were gathered there again, they had reached the peak of the main world’s pyramid and had grown beyond the Radiance Federation.
The trio had weathered all storms together, and their relationship had only become stronger and purer.
Lin Yuan was not the only one who grew consistently. The same also went for Liu Jie and Wen Yu.
The three of them chatted until noon. The sun shone down on them and slowly melted away their shadows.
Neither Endless Summer nor Blood Love disturbed Wen Yu, Lin Yuan, and Liu Jie.
Blood Love had witnessed the development of their relationship as well as their growth.
The three of them only began rising up after meeting the Moon Empress.
... Before Lin Yuan left the Radiant Moon Palace’s inner palace, he could sense that the Moon Empress had been troubled by something.
The Moon Empress also had people in the main world whom she could not bear to leave behind.
But now, he could sense that she was relaxed. This meant she had tied up all her loose ends in the main world, including making the necessary goodbyes!
Lin Yuan raised his hand and summoned the Kill Food Sky Butterfly, which had recently reached Immortal Breed. He said with a smile, “Master, you’re here. It’s time for us to set off!”
Ever since Lin Yuan evolved Blackie to World Emperor/Divine Kingdom, he had not ridden the Kill Food Sky Butterfly.
He had chosen the Kill Food Sky Butterfly today because they had to wait for the white-clothed followers and because he wanted to take one last look at the main world.
At that moment, an elderly voice echoed from the entrance of the Return from Faraway Mansion. “I didn’t believe Leaning Moon when she said you wanted to leave quietly. No one is stopping you from leaving. Aren’t you at least going to give us the opportunity to see you off?”
Lin Yuan looked up and saw that the elderly man who had spoken was seated in a wheelchair.
Xia Qing pursed her lips and suppressed her emotions as she continued pushing the wheelchair.
Every person behind this elderly man was a very familiar face to Lin Yuan.
