2734 Coiling Dragon’s Valley to the Rescue! Cultivated Garden was also in charge of distributing resources to all the factions.
Lin Yuan intended to investigate what plans the manager from Cultivated Garden had. Why was he encouraging the factions to fight and steal rooms from each other?
This was a negative competition that did not benefit the Radiance Federation at all. When the factions fought so viciously with each other, the Radiance Federation’s internal unity was significantly lowered!
This was the last thing that Lin Yuan wanted to see happen, yet it was exactly what was happening.
Lin Yuan had not expected this to happen. With so many of the Radiance Federation’s factions fighting with each other over the rooms, there was no point in doling out punishment.
Instead of punishing the factions, it was more important that Lin Yuan eliminate the sources of the dispute.
Hence, Lin Yuan took out the Thoughts Letter Paper and sent a message to Tian Feng, the member of royalty who managed Cultivated Garden. Lin Yuan invited Tian Feng to personally come down to the manor in the north district after the imperial meeting.
Lin Yuan had interacted with Tian Feng a few times in the past and knew of his character.
Tian Feng always put the Radiance Federation first. After the dead spirits crisis began, Tian Feng released a significant portion of his personal resources as part of the aid efforts.
Lin Yuan greatly respected Tian Feng’s actions. However, the fights in this manor were not a small matter.
Rather than Lin Yuan handling the employees from Cultivated Garden, it would be much more appropriate for Tian Feng to handle this matter!
Tian Feng was currently in the imperial meeting and would not be back anytime soon.
Lin Yuan was in no rush about this matter. Lin Yuan decided to continue observing the situation in the manor so he could give Tian Feng a detailed explanation when he arrived, and so he could see how the fight over the rooms progressed!
Since the resources were allocated based on the rooms, the employees from Cultivated Garden in charge of the manor were allowing the factions to fight over resources!
Resources directly affected a faction’s foundations. These factions were willing to spill blood for the sake of building up their foundations!
Since he was going to watch how the fights progressed, Lin Yuan did not reveal himself.
The tension between the people from Spirit Snake Ravine and Four Beasts Territory magnified, and they were on the brink of drawing their swords.
Based on their numbers, Four Beasts Territory seemed stronger than Spirit Snake Ravine.
However, Spirit Snake Ravine had allies. With help from their allies, they would be able to restrain the people from Four Beasts Territory and cause them to lose manpower.
There were many factions who were spectating the commotion. Four Beasts Territory and Spirit Snake Ravine did not immediately begin brawling. But this was not just because they were measuring their potential losses but also because they were wary of the spectating factions.
All of the factions were aware of the logic of becoming too preoccupied with a minor issue and failing to recognize a more significant hidden problem.
None of them wanted to be taken over by other factions because they had become too severely injured in this fight over rooms.
The middle-aged man named Gao Huan from Four Beasts Territory cursed to himself when he saw the people from Spirit Snake Ravine resolve themselves to hold onto their rooms.
Spirit Snake Ravine was hedging their bets on him not having the courage to make the move and blow up the matter!
It was true that the experts from the various factions started out peaceful in the first two weeks that they arrived at this manor in the north district of the Royal Capital.
There were very few members of each faction who had come to this manor because only the spirit qi professionals who needed help with their feys’ breakthrough needed to be there.
At first, the members of the various factions all intended to network with each other.
Although they were still able to receive resources daily and the experts from the factions were unwilling to cause trouble when they were unable to call for backup, the Moon Empress eventually started to distribute an abundance of resources to the factions. They were all resources that these factions had never dared to dream of in the past!
These resources caused the spirit qi professionals whose feys’ grades had been restrained to attain breakthroughs.
As a result, more and more experts arrived at the manor, and the experts from the same factions naturally banded together.
When there was a power imbalance between the factions in the manor, the competition for resources emerged.
At first, the factions had been very wary of each other. They were afraid that causing trouble in the manor would displease the manager and cause them to lose their supply of resources.
Aside from power, factions needed craftiness in order to develop. The leaders of the factions in the manor directed all their craftiness toward the manager of the manor.
As the resources were willingly being given up, the manager of the manor decided to turn a blind eye. It was because of this attitude that the competition gradually became more violent.
Gao Huan had come with a mission. After Gao Huan told his family about this situation, they instructed him to secure two more rooms.
It had not been long since Four Beasts Territory started rebuilding. In the past, Four Beasts Territory had been a top faction, but their power was now comparable to some veteran factions. There were even some top-ranked veteran factions who stopped expressing respect toward Four Beasts Territory.
Hence, Four Beasts Territory felt a great urgency to increase their power and use this to prove their position in the Radiance Federation.
With this thought, Gao Huan raised his hand and summoned his fey.
After Gao Huan summoned his fey, the other experts from Four Beasts Territory did the same. The weakest of these feys were Myth Breed, and a number of them were Fantasy Breed.
After Gao Huan instructed the other experts from Four Beasts Territory to summon their feys, the people from Spirit Snake Ravine became nervous and summoned their own feys.
The people who were spectating this commotion were stunned by this shift in events.
If this conflict persisted, the scale would grow too large!
The various factions knew that the Radiance Federation’s royalty did not want the factions to fight each other in deadly brawls. Otherwise, they would not have distributed resources directly but encouraged the factions to compete for them instead!
It was obvious that the members of royalty wanted to increase the overall power of all factions rather than just the power of the top factions.
The manager of the manor was fully responsible for the conflict escalating to this extent.
The manager was permitting such conflict because he wanted to receive a kickback from them.
In the past few months, the manager had received at least tens of billions of Radiance dollars worth of resources.
This manager wanted to obtain a kickback but did not dare to allow the matter to blow up too much. Once it caught the attention of the members of the royalty, the nature of the situation would change.
This manager could not afford to be on the receiving end of the members of royalty’s fury!
This manager was acting this courageously because he knew that the members of royalty were all focused on the dead spirits crisis.
The dead spirits crisis would persist for thousands of years. As the dead spirits crisis carried on, the members of royalty did not have the bandwidth to pay attention to this matter. Otherwise, regardless of how brave this manager was, he would never dare to do such a thing!
Tian Feng was always very strict when it came to managing Cultivated Garden. Once his actions were discovered, it was highly likely that this manager would be ousted by Tian Feng.
A relatively young man in the crowd said loudly, “Are you really going to throw all caution into the wind to fight? If you anger Lord Mang Shui, both your families will have to pay the consequences! Those who are spectating should just continue watching. Don’t join the fray and end up dragged into the consequences!”
The man’s tone was very serious, and it was clear that he blamed the people from Four Beasts Territory and Spirit Snake Ravine. He made it sound as though their fight would affect all of their profits!
However, the conflict between Four Beasts Territory and Spirit Snake Ravine had already reached a highly sensitive point. Neither side could appear weak now. At that moment, any side that backed down first would become a laughingstock.
Gao Huan was silent for a moment, but he eventually decided to go ahead with the fight.
This was not the first time that Four Beasts Territory was fighting over the rooms.
The one managing this manor was Mang Shui, one of the four envoys of Cultivated Garden.
The previous head of Gao Huan’s family had private ties with Mang Shui and had helped him in the past.
Although Four Beasts Territory’s previous family head had been killed by Whale Ocean Commerce, Mang Shui did not forget about their old ties.
Four Beasts Territory kept up their ties with Mang Shui and had offered him significant benefits in the past month.
Even if this fight displeased Mang Shui, he was more likely to vent his anger on Spirit Snake Ravine.
The only thing about Spirit Snake Ravine that concerned Four Beasts Territory was their relationship with Coiling Dragon’s Valley.
From his observations, Gao Huan noticed that the people in the manor who were from Coiling Dragon’s Valley did not seem to have any intention of helping Spirit Snake Ravine.
Coiling Dragon’s Valley had not interfered during any of Spirit Snake Ravine’s previous clashes against other factions.
This had led Gao Huan to think that Coiling Dragon’s Valley and Spirit Snake Ravine were not as close as he initially imagined.
With this thought, Gao Huan decided to strike first. A battle broke out in the manor in the north district.
The repercussions of conflict spread out in all directions. But luckily, the experts in the manor were all powerful and would not be overly impacted by the aftermath.
Long Zhuo stood in the crowd with his hands behind his back. His brow was knitted as he watched the confrontation between Four Beasts Territory and Spirit Snake Ravine.
An elderly man who stood by the side hurriedly said, “Young Master, don’t be impulsive! You don’t need to get involved in this fight! You must be aware that this fight will only lead to terrible consequences!
“If the dead spirits crisis wasn’t still ongoing in the main world and occupying the attention of the members of royalty, the manor would already have been tidied up by the authorities! Once this matter gets out, there will be nowhere for Mang Shui to turn. Even Lord Tian Feng will be implicated in Mang Shui’s actions!
“Coiling Dragon’s Valley is currently one of the top three factions in the Radiance Federation. We are standing toe-to-toe with the Cage of Brahma Insects. We have Lord Lin Yuan backing us, and our position is unshakable. We shouldn’t be getting involved in unnecessary conflict!
“If you’re going to act recklessly, I will have to report this to the First Young Master and the head elder of the family!”
This elderly man knew that this fight was akin to a beehive. Poking it would only result in one getting stung. There were no benefits to be reaped at all!
In Coiling Dragon’s Valley, Long Tao was destined to be the Young Leader from the moment he was born. There was no higher position in Coiling Dragon’s Valley than the one he held.
Meanwhile, in spite of his impressive talent, Long Zhuo could not touch Long Tao’s position in the family.
There had been an incident in the past when Long Zhuo tried to rise up and topple Long Tao and suffered because of this transgression. After his failure, Long Tao did not begrudge him. However, Long Zhuo’s position in Coiling Dragon’s Valley was never what it once was or could have been.
If Long Zhuo joined the conflict and blemished Coiling Dragon’s Valley’s reputation, he would have an even tougher time in the Long family. It was possible that he might never be able to become an elder of the family even if he did manage to become an emperor-class expert!
This elderly man was a direct senior of Long Zhuo’s branch of the family. Otherwise, he would never offer Long Zhuo such advice at this moment.
Ever since Coiling Dragon’s Valley became one of the three major factions in the Radiance Federation, their share of the pie of benefits only grew.
As the Young Leader of Coiling Dragon’s Valley, Long Tao received the biggest share of the pie. However, there were enough resources left over to distribute to the other juniors in the family.
There were a fair number of juniors in every branch of the Long family. Once one junior was relegated to being a pariah, the other juniors would be able to receive significantly more resources!
Long Zhuo was able to survive because of his extremely strong combat abilities. Because of this, the family continued to nurture him even after he failed to usurp Long Tao’s position.
The elderly man did not want Long Zhuo to waste his talent, nor did he want his branch of the family to lose such an outstanding junior.
Long Zhuo ignored the elderly man’s cautionary words and snarled, “I might not be the leader of the members of Coiling Dragon’s Valley who have gathered in this manor, but all of you are aware of the goal of resource allocation here in the manor.
“I have told Big Brother Tao about the situation in the manor. He said that if serious conflict breaks out, I should lead the rest of you in putting a stop to it and preventing any further negative effects. Now, you will all go ahead and restrain the people from Four Beasts Territory and Spirit Snake Ravine!”
If Long Zhuo had issued the orders under his own name, those who were present would definitely have ignored him. But now that he had invoked Long Tao’s name, the implications had changed completely!
Since his birth, Long Tao was destined to be the Young Leader of Coiling Dragon’s Valley. He had also taken on a large portion of the responsibilities of the head of the family. His will represented the will of the entire Coiling Dragon’s Valley.
They could not afford to get on the wrong side of Mang Shui, an envoy of Cultivated Garden, but Long Tao could.
But when did Long Zhuo and Long Tao get on such good terms? He had actually communicated with Long Tao privately!
None of the elders from Coiling Dragon’s Valley who were present believed that Long Zhuo could be lying. If he was lying, he would not be able to shoulder the subsequent consequences!
Lin Yuan’s expression of rage did not fade when he saw the reaction of Coiling Dragon’s Valley. Yet, his lips curled into a smile!
