Chapter 3095: Disloyalty!
The Sky-Questioning Flaming Heart Mushroom was a functional fey. Although it had a certain combat ability, the Sky-Questioning Flaming Heart Mushroom’s combat ability targeted feys that were weaker than it. The Sky-Questioning Flaming Heart Mushroom would not be able to fight against feys of the same level.
Before Sky City made large-scale contact with the other factions in the Sky Beyond the Clouds, the Sky-Questioning Flaming Heart Mushroom’s ability to differentiate between real and fake was basically useless.
However, when Sky City came into contact with the various factions in the Sky Beyond the Clouds in the future, the Sky-Questioning Flaming Heart Mushroom’s ability to differentiate between real and fake would come in handy.
The Sky-Questioning Flaming Heart Mushroom obtained Flame Enhancement after stepping into the Holy Spirit level. It used the flames of faith power to enhance all its abilities and exclusive skills. Compared to obtaining a brand new ability, the Sky-Questioning Flaming Heart Mushroom was the best choice for Lin Yuan to strengthen his current ability!
Lin Yuan was very satisfied with the Sky-Questioning Flaming Heart Mushroom’s new divine kingdom ability.
Upon sensing Lin Yuan’s satisfied expression, the Sky-Questioning Flaming Heart Mushroom was very happy.
After strengthening the Sky-Questioning Flaming Heart Mushroom, Lin Yuan was about to set off for South Face City. Before leaving, Lin Yuan deliberately gave instructions to the other core members of Sky City.
The Moon Empress was used to Lin Yuan going out often, but she still deliberately reminded him.
With the help of the Wisdom Eye Brain Dragonflies to oversee most of the matters in the Sky Beyond the Clouds, the Moon Empress had become significantly more proficient in managing Sky City than before!
Wen Yu recalled that Su Yiren had been looking for her recently because of the Crimson Heaven Falcons’ territory. Wen Yu felt that making a decision on this matter was beyond her authority.
Before Lin Yuan left, Wen Yu called Su Yiren over and told her to talk to Lin Yuan about it. They were all family, so it was extremely convenient for them to talk without outsiders around.
Even with the help of the Wisdom Eye Brain Dragonflies, Su Yiren and Luo Lan were still in charge of managing Sky City.
The Crimson Heaven Falcons had indeed submitted to Sky City and their attitude toward submission had been relatively favorable. However, although they submitted, the dependent species of the Crimson Heaven Falcons still followed the orders they issued.
These Crimson Heaven Falcons had indeed followed Wen Yu’s instructions and joined the faith country. However, after joining the faith country, they acted domineeringly and often caused trouble. If that was all, Su Yiren would have tolerated it. After all, the Crimson Heaven Falcons were more powerful overall and looked down on the exiled members of species.
However, recently, there had been a conflict between the dependent species of the Crimson Heaven Falcons and the managing demon insect species, which had caused an extremely bad impact.
As the manager of the faith country, Su Yiren wanted to deal with the dependent species of the Crimson Heaven Falcon. However, the Crimson Heaven Falcons actually helped dependent species plead for mercy which made things very difficult for Su Yiren.
She was aware that Lin Yuan valued the Crimson Heaven Falcons, which was indeed the strongest native faction in the North of the Lonely River. It made the situation become more complex.
However, the Crimson Heaven Falcons’ attitude made Su Yiren feel that they were not easy to manage. If this went on for a long time, there would inevitably be chaos!
The Crimson Heaven Falcons’ attitude toward handling matters had already vaguely revealed this.
Su Yiren believed that if a faction couldn’t be completely obedient, it would be better to destroy it. At the very least, the Crimson Heaven Falcons should understand who held power in North of the Lonely River.
Su Yiren knew Lin Yuan quite well and was confident that he would take action to resolve the situation once he became aware of it.
When Su Yiren saw Lin Yuan, she explained the situation to Lin Yuan without any falsehood, “Young Master, the Crimson Heaven Falcons are becoming more and more arrogant because of their strength. They do have enough respect for the core members of Sky City, but apart from core members like us, they have nothing to fear. A few species that had already been incorporated into the faith country were annihilated by the dependent species of the Crimson Heaven Falcons.
“Although the Crimson Heaven Falcons did not participate directly, their higher-ups must have participated directly in this matter. This incident is affecting mine and Luo Lan’s credibility. I think we should take action to deal with the dependent species of the Crimson Heaven Falcons. Otherwise, they will become increasingly lawless under the protection of the Crimson Heaven Falcons!”
Su Yiren gritted her teeth as she spoke. The anger in her heart had reached its peak. Back in the main world, Su Yiren was born at the pinnacle of the Seven States of Darkness. Despite enduring a prolonged period of fleeing under the oppression of Seventh Page War, she still possessed the mentality of a superior at heart. As a superior, her dignity and authority were not to be trampled upon in the slightest.
The actions of the Crimson Heaven Falcons could be lightly described as leveraging their strength to avoid being disciplined for their lax behavior. More seriously, their actions were akin to trampling on the dignity of Su Yiren and Luo Lan as authorities.
Upon hearing this, Lin Yuan’s brow furrowed, followed by a smirk creeping onto his face.
Lin Yuan had annihilated hundreds of factions in Coiling Dragon Mountain and made even more factions submit to him. Many species had already migrated to North of the Lonely River, which caused the desolate place to become a little crowded.
Lin Yuan had no intention of eliminating any species, yet there were actually species causing trouble in North of the Lonely River. Furthermore, the Spinning Wings White Falcons, who were promised generous treatment by Lin Yuan, were also protecting these species.
Previously, those dependent species were completely under the control of the Crimson Heaven Falcons, which held the power to decide their fate. How could these species dare to defy the wishes of the Crimson Heaven Falcons?
Lin Yuan had no doubts that the Crimson Heaven Falcons were challenging Sky City’s authority.
“As you said, it seems we should do more than just warn the Crimson Heaven Falcons. Inform the leader of the Crimson Heaven Falcons to gather those troublemakers and immediately head to the temple built outside the territory of the Crimson Heaven Falcons. I’ll only give him an hour. If he’s late, they’ll bear the consequences!”
Lin Yuan said in all seriousness, “Yiren, you’ve been in power before. You should know very well what the Crimson Heaven Falcons are thinking. The next time you encounter such a thing, just look for Summer and let her use martial force to resolve it!”
Lin Yuan would never tolerate such things, especially since he was just about to leave.
Lin Yuan was a little worried about the safety of Sky City and the stability of the faith country. He clearly remembered the Crimson Heaven Falcons’ attitude when they submitted to Lin Yuan.
The Crimson Heaven Falcons assured that they would manage their dependent species well, so Lin Yuan decided to continue entrusting the command of the dependent species.
It hadn’t been long since the Crimson Heaven Falcons submitted to him. It was only a few months at most. In just a few months, the Crimson Heaven Falcons had already shown such cunning schemes.
While Lin Yuan used the Faith Tree to control the faith of the Crimson Heaven Falcons, there was a fundamental difference between controlling a species through the Faith Tree and controlling their life and death.
Lin Yuan felt that he shouldn’t blame the Crimson Heaven Falcons for being too audacious, but rather blame himself for being too lenient with them in the past. Otherwise, the Crimson Heaven Falcons wouldn’t have dared to be so bold!
When Su Yiren heard Lin Yuan’s words, she was delighted. Compared to Lin Yuan’s gentleness, Su Yiren preferred the decisive Lin Yuan.
“Young Master, I’ll remember this. I also know how to deal with any disobedient species in the future. I’ll send someone to inform the Crimson Heaven Falcons and then head to the temple to wait for your arrival!”
After Su Yiren left, Wen Yu could not help but say, “Young Master, I also think that the Crimson Heaven Falcons should be dealt with. However, our approach to dealing with them should be more subtle, rather than openly confronting them in front of everyone.”
Lin Yuan shook his head at Wen Yu. “Wen Yu, many of your management ideas are more applicable to the main world and may not be entirely suitable for the Sky Beyond the Clouds. You need to adjust your perspective.
“Being too merciful in the Sky Beyond the Clouds only makes people feel that you’re weak, and the attitude of the Crimson Heaven Falcons is the best example of this.
“There has always been a drawback of faith countries. If it develops too quickly, there will inevitably be problems internally. Once an unstable factor appears and we can’t immediately have them under control, the consequences can very likely cause all our previous efforts to be in vain.
“When I come back this time, I’ll arrange for Winter to bring you and Brother Liu out to train for a period and see the real environment of the Sky Beyond the Clouds!”
Lin Yuan’s thoughts had changed because he had experienced and gained insights of the Sky Beyond the Clouds. If Lin Yuan had not gone out to train, he would not have changed his mindset so quickly.
After all, when Wen Yu was in the main world, she was in the Radiance Federation and not those small federations with excellent but turbulent environments. Lin Yuan believed that both Wen Yu and Liu Jie would change their minds after seeing the situation in the Sky Beyond the Clouds.
Upon hearing this, Wen Yu nodded seriously and took Lin Yuan’s words to heart. She decided to take a good look at how Lin Yuan would handle this matter. Then, she would know what she should do
according to Lin Yuan’s way of handling things. Wen Yu had always been someone who was willing to humbly accept her own problems, especially since this issue was personally raised by Lin Yuan.
After receiving the news, the leader of the Crimson Heaven Falcons did not immediately mobilize the manpower of his dependent species. Instead, he convened an internal meeting, which made the Second Elder of the Crimson Heaven Falcon, Chi Zhentian, extremely anxious.
“Big Brother, what we should do now is to mobilize our dependent species to wait in the temple as soon as possible, and not hold this so-called internal meeting here. Defying Lord Lin Yuan’s orders in such a manner will surely doom the Crimson Heaven Falcons to irreversible destruction!”
Chi Qingtian looked at the anxious Chi Zhentian and said coldly, “I think you’ve been scared out of your wits by Sky City. The Crimson Heaven Falcons are the rulers of the North of the Lonely River. Now that the Crimson Heaven Falcons have pledged allegiance to Sky City, Sky City has to give us some respect . We are only protecting our dependent species who had long pledged allegiance to Crimson Heaven Falcons. Even if Sky City is domineering, can they really hold us accountable for
that!?
“It’s all because of you that our Crimson Heaven Falcons has ended up in this situation. If not for you, why would our faith be controlled!? Now that you’re no longer suitable to manage the family matters, just go to the side and wait for the results of our discussion. From now on, everything in the species will be managed by me alone.”
Chi Zhentian laughed bitterly when he heard that. He understood the reason for such a situation. The reason for this situation was actually quite simple. His elder brother had achieved a breakthrough using a natural treasure that he had awaited for thousands of years.
However, it seemed his elder brother had forgotten that the natural treasure was something Lin Yuan hadn’t even paid attention to and intentionally left in the possession of the Crimson Heaven Falcons at the time. Otherwise, how could his elder brother have the chance to break through his strength as he wished!? If Lin Yuan had believed that this treasure was useful, how could he have left it in the Crimson Heaven Falcons?
His elder brother had never seen the Sky City experts display their strength with his own eyes, so he did not know how terrifying their auras were. Back then, the other party had relied on his aura to firmly suppress him, making him not even dare to have the thought of resisting.
Even though Chi Qingtian had increased his strength, the aura he emitted was still far inferior compared to the experts who had followed Lin Yuan previously!
However, most of the members of the Crimson Heaven Falcons blamed him and Chi Zhentian knew this very well. Even if Chi Zhentian had the intention to bring his members to the temple, he did not have the ability.
Just as Chi Zhentian was thinking about what to do, Chi Jue and Chi Ling found him, “Second Elder, it looks like this internal meeting will definitely be held. Once this meeting is held, it will delay our departure to the temple.
“You’ve seen Sky City’s methods. Chi Ling and I are looking for you to ask if you want to go to the temple with us now? It’s up to the other members of the species whether they go to the temple or not. As for dealing with Sky City, both Chi Ling and I believe we should show the appropriate attitude.
“At the very least, our attitude shows that we do not intend to become enemies with Sky City. The leader clearly wants to go against Sky City. Chi Ling and I can see that. I’m sure you can see more clearly than the two of us!”
Chi Zhentian had never liked Chi Jue, but he felt that what Chi Jue said made sense. However, as the Second Elder of the Crimson Heaven Falcons, going to the temple regardless of the consequences would indeed show loyalty to Sky City. But then, how would he maintain his standing within the species afterward?
Originally, Chi Ling had a close relationship with Chi Jue. It was only after Chi Jue was denounced and ostracized from the species that Chi Ling’s interactions with him diminished.
In Chi Ling’s heart, Chi Jue had always been very smart. After thinking about it, Chi Ling finally felt that going to the temple was the right choice.
Chi Ling remembered the fear of having his life controlled when Sky City previously took action against the Crimson Heaven Falcon. They were clearly showing intent to kill.
