2688 Chimey Attacks! After sensing the threat from the pressure, the Sacred Sword Wielding Queen released its aura. It formed a barrier of energy around Lin Yuan’s body to block out the pressure.
A dragonfly, over eight meters in length, appeared in front of Xia Qing. It was covered in fiery flames and held a large red ball with its front legs.
This was Xia Qing’s signature fey. However, Xia Qing usually only summoned the Suck Burst Oxygen Toad during battle. She rarely summoned the Star Dragonfly.
The last time that Xia Qing summoned the Star Dragonfly it was only Diamond X/Fantasy V. Now, it had reached Suzerain X/pinnacle Myth II.
Lin Yuan sensed the aura from the Star Dragonfly and realized that the pressure was coming from the ball it was holding with its front legs.
If the ball was enlarged, it would seem like a celestial body!
Liu Jie had once appraised the Star Dragonfly in a conversation with Lin Yuan. He solemnly stated that the Star Dragonfly was the strongest Myth Breed insect-species fey when it came to individual combat. It was much stronger than the Halberd Corner Sky-Defying Rhinoceros Beetle that had yet to be boosted by the deaths of armies of feys!
Xia Qing had once used the Star Dragonfly to kill Creation Breed feys. This meant that the Star Dragonfly had an impressive ability to roll grades to do battle.
During previous battles, Lin Yuan always used True Data to check on his opponent’s feys before he began fighting. This allowed him to secure the advantage in all situations.
However, this method of combat also took the fun out of fighting.
Lin Yuan felt that he might not need to use Morbius to check on the abilities of Xia Qing’s two feys in this battle. Instead, he could battle her normally. Regardless of how many secret weapons she had, there was no chance of him unexpectedly losing, even if he did have to take a few hits.
Lin Yuan turned and said to Chimey, who was clearly ready to dive into battle, “Chimey, Blackie was the lead in the previous battle, and you didn’t get the chance to join in. Now, it’s your turn to take the lead. Go and have a good fight with these two feys. If you find yourself losing, I will send the Sky-Questioning Flaming Heart Mushroom to help you!”
Chimey let out a soft chirp before flapping its wings in front of Lin Yuan, indicating that it did not need help from others.
While Chimey was flapping its wings, glassy flames ignited all over its body, and the sun started to shine even brighter.
Soon, a string of pleasant chirps was released from Chimey’s throat as it used Phoenix Cry.
With the power of a phoenix, Chimey combined the phoenix cry with the birds that were flying around it, imbuing the musical notes in the shape of birds with extremely strong penetrating effects.
After coming into contact with the target, the musical notes let out phoenix cries that would stun and disrupt the target. When they were hit by any impact, the musical notes would also split off to produce new birds.
The beauty from continuous attacks was akin to watching a swarm of birds paying homage to a phoenix!
Chimey’s ability Phoenix Breed Input Sound allowed Chimey to temper the soul of a phoenix-species fey to phoenix breed and inject it into the flying birds. The flying birds would then take on some of the intelligence and spiritual power of a phoenix-species fey. Their abilities would also be improved, allowing them to become partial phoenixes.
The legion of birds flew towards Xia Qing’s Suck Burst Oxygen Toad and Star Dragonfly.
In the midst of this attack, Chimey also used New Day of Light and commandeered the bloodline of a main-phoenix-species fey. The exquisite main-phoenix-species blood and sunlight formed a sun behind Chimey. Under the light of the sun, its depleted energy would be replenished.
This allowed Chimey to substantially boost its attacks. Chimey’s appearance was just as beautiful as that of Purple Afterglow.
The two different lifeforms exemplified the greatest extent of beauty that could ever manifest in living creatures.
If the dead spirits crisis had not begun and the main world continued holding fey beauty pageants, Chimey would definitely stand a chance to place among the top three!
Xia Qing felt slightly dizzy as she looked at the endless birds swooping around in front of her. Lin Yuan’s pinnacle Myth II sparrow’s attack was almost unbelievably dense!
Xia Qing gave an order to the Suck Burst Oxygen Toad, “Suck Burst Oxygen Toad, use Oxygen Bursting Flames.”
The inside of the Suck Burst Oxygen Toad’s body was half red and half blue. When it was Fantasy Breed, it was around the size of a small building. But now that it was Myth Breed, it was gargantuan!
The Suck Burst Oxygen Toad sucked in a forceful breath. The air around the Suck Burst Oxygen Toad was pulled in into its mouth forcefully and rapidly.
Soon, patterns of air currents appeared on the Suck Burst Oxygen Toad’s body, and the flames were fanned by the patterns of air currents.
In an instant, the black flames burned up all the oxygen in the air. Even from a distance away, Lin Yuan felt as though he was being suffocated.
To any other spirit qi professional, this might spell trouble. If they could not breathe, they would fall unconscious due to a lack of oxygen within five minutes.
However, Lin Yuan’s genetic model had been improved, and he could no longer be measured against regular humans! He could survive for more than half an hour with no issues, even in an environment without oxygen!
Chimey’s source of energy was sunlight. It did not need to breathe to transform external energy.
The burning black flames formed a giant shield of flames that covered Xia Qing, the Suck Burst Oxygen Toad, and Star Dragonfly.
The birds that Chimey produced using Phoenix Cry flew straight into the black shield of flames.
Alarm bells rang in Lin Yuan’s head. He noticed that the black flames had consumption effects.
The energy within the golden birds was absorbed by the black flames, causing the black flames to burn with an even greater flourish.
After noticing this, Lin Yuan did not give Chimey another order. He had already made himself clear during his conversation with Chimey.
Chimey wanted to fight with its own free will! Chimey was very talented at battling and would not allow itself to suffer unnecessarily.
Chimey must have a reason for continuing to attack after noticing that the Suck Burst Oxygen Toad’s black flames were absorbing the energy within the brids.
The Suck Burst Oxygen Toad’s shield of flames had defended against various energy-based attacks in the past.
After consuming many birds, the black flames were triggered to their maximum extent.
When the Suck Burst Oxygen Toad used the exclusive skill Consuming Fire Stimulation, it could consume flames to recover its own energy and injuries.
It could be said that Xia Qing had started the battle against Lin Yuan on a good note.
Previously, the Suck Burst Oxygen Toad needed to deplete a large amount of energy to use its ability and could not hold on for long during battle. But now, it had the confidence to sustain combat.
Chimey’s eyes were very bright. Instead of drawing back after it realized what was happening, it sent even more birds flying into the black flames.
Many of the members of the Radiance Hundred Sequence were confused. They did not understand why Lin Yuan allowed his fey to act foolishly. If it continued to give up energy, Xia Qing’s Suck Burst Oxygen Toad would be able to release enough flames to take control of the battle!
The narrators and hosts who were watching this were left at a slight loss about what to say. They could not say that Lin Yuan’s fey was pathetic in battle!
At this moment, the shield of black flames seemed to go out of control, and phoenix cries began ringing out from the black flames.
Chimey let out a soft chirp, and even more birds crashed into the shield of black flames.
After a moment of pondering, Lin Yuan realized what was happening. The Suck Burst Oxygen Toad’s shield of black flames only absorbed energy.
When Chimey used Phoenix Breed Input Sound to temper the phoenix-species fey’s soul and inject it into the birds, this could not be absorbed.
Not only were phoenix-species feys unafraid of flames, but there were some powerful main-phoenix-species feys that could be reincarnated through flames.
The black flames expanded and grew until the Suck Burst Oxygen Toad began struggling to maintain control.
When the Suck Burst Oxygen Toad’s control over the black flames weakened, the partial phoenixes that were capable of individual thought captured control of the black flames.
The flaming birds that were now black in color soared down towards Xia Qing, the Suck Burst Oxygen Toad, and Star Dragonfly.
Xia Qing had created this shield to protect herself from being attacked by external energy.
However, Chimey had adapted and used the phoenix bloodline to penetrate the shield.
This was akin to a fully-armored person poking a beehive. One would assume that the armor would be able to block out all damage from the bees. However, the bees were still able to penetrate the armor.
Xia Qing was being put to the test but could not express her grievances.
Chimey was still injecting energy into the shield of black flames. The Suck Burst Oxygen Toad could transform this energy, but it took time.
A pool could be drained. But if water was being poured in too quickly, the pool would still fill up even while it was being drained.
Xia Qing knew that she needed to break free of this situation as soon as possible. Otherwise, the fire birds that could penetrate the shield would only increase in quantity. Once they reached a certain number, her defeat would be sealed!
As such, Xia Qing quickly swung her fist in front of her, and a purple scorpion appeared.
This scorpion was very small. It was only around the size of Xia Qing’s palm.
The scorpion’s tail was raised, and it shone with a crystalline gleam.
After this beautiful scorpion appeared, Xia Qing cried out, “Fire Source Crystal Scorpion, use the exclusive skill Release Fire Body Transformation!”
Xia Qing’s cry could not be heard past the shield, and those outside did not know that Xia Qing was currently poised to lose her battle against Lin Yuan.
At that moment, Xia Qing felt rather ashamed. Lin Yuan had only summoned one fey so far in this battle, but she had already been forced to summon three feys.
When the Fire Source Crystal Scorpion heard Xia Qing’s command, it leaped in front of her and raised its two pincers as well as half of its body before a large amount of fire energy was absorbed into its body.
The Fire Source Crystal Scorpion’s body started to enlarge until it was as enormous as the Suck Burst Oxygen Toad!
All of the black flames had been absorbed by the Fire Source Crystal Scorpion.
It looked as though Xia Qing had just destroyed the defense she had built. But when it came to storing energy, Xia Qing had the upper hand because most of the fire energy the Fire Source Crystal Scorpion absorbed had come from Chimey.
With the ability New Light of Day to replenish it, Chimey had no lack of energy and did not mind such a depletion. After all, regardless of how much energy was used up, it would be replenished by the sun. The sun was Chimey’s charger!
Through its exclusive skill Double Sun Reins, Chimey could strengthen the link between the sun and other suns. Each time Chimey let out a soft chirp, it was singing to the suns. If Chimey wanted to, it could draw on the real sun to replenish its body.
In terms of endurance, Chimey was the strongest of all of Lin Yuan’s feys. Battling Chimey was like trying to measure up to the sun!
The recent crossing of swords was Chimey’s way of testing the waters. It now had a general understanding of its opponent’s power. Now, it was going to get serious!
But before Chimey could make its move, the giant Fire Source Crystal Scorpion that had absorbed all of the fire energy had already viciously swung its tail towards Chimey! There were hundreds of shadows clinging to the tail that would make it extremely difficult for Chimey to dodge and flee.
At the instant that the Fire Source Crystal Scorpion swung its tail towards Chimey, its two pinchers made a chopping motion and formed two dark red crosses.
Chimey felt as though it had just been nailed to the spot by two crosses. It was as though it would end up hurt by the crosses regardless of how it moved.
Chimey had no intention of fleeing. Instead, it used Falling Sky New Day.
The sun within Chimey’s body suddenly descended to the ground and formed a territory charged with the sun’s power around Chimey.
Before the sun’s power ran out, Chimey’s body would be immune to most physical and elemental damage. In such a state, it was very unlikely that Chimey would be harmed in any way.
The attacks from the shadows on the scorpion’s tail and crosses were all deflected by the sun power around Chimey.
After Chimey evolved to Myth Breed, the structure of its power changed drastically. Previously, its combat style depended on the moves it made at present. But now, it mostly relied on using speech as a medium for its spirit to do battle.
In the past, Chimey never used abilities that involved speech as a medium for its spirit.
When most Myth Breed feys used their abilities in battle, their beast states were their strongest forms.
They could only wield more power in their human form than beast form when they reached Immortal Breed.
But when it came to using abilities that involved speech as a medium for the spirit, it would be more effective to use them in human form than beast form!
Chimey had reached Myth II. Even if it did not use treasures like the Spirit Bodhi Fruit, it was still able to change into human form.
Chimey did not think this much during battle and had long forgotten about its large audience.
Chimey shot up to the sky. Soon, its body changed into that of a young girl wearing a blue and gold shawl.
Chimey trod on clumps of clouds, and languid tunes slipped from its lips.
Chimey had begun using Speak Spirit Singer. As it tapped into its phoenix breed, a silhouette formed around Chimey. As a result, Chimey resembled a celestial maiden.
