Chapter 2933 Sequence Competition! It was precisely because of the benefits of these insect-species carcinoma feys turning into fairies that Liu Jie was willing to transform them into fairies. If not for that, Liu Jie would not want to waste too many of Lin Yuan’s resources because of him.
Liu Jie smiled. “Lin Yuan, I’ve already told you about the benefits brought by these fairies. I didn’t expect them to contribute faith power to Elegance continuously. At this rate, Elegance should be able to evolve to the Holy Spirit level in a few years.”
Lin Yuan agreed with Liu Jie’s words. Stepping into the Holy Spirit level from the Divine Kingdom was exceptionally difficult to other lifeforms. For example, Kani only obtained the opportunity to reach the Holy Spirit level from pinnacle Divine Kingdom after an indefinite.
Furthermore, Lin Yuan gave Kani the opportunity. Without Lin Yuan, Kani would have taken perhaps tens of thousands more years to evolve. Now that Liu Jie had obtained such an opportunity, he seemed like a child of providence.
The Holy Spirit level was not the pinnacle of Elegance. The stronger a lifeform was, the more faith power it needed. After reaching the Holy Spirit level, Elegance’s future journeys were bound to be trouble-free.
“Big Brother Liu, if Elegance needs any resources to increase its strength in the future, just inform me. Insect-species carcinoma feys also exist in the Sky Beyond the Clouds.
“However, they are not as destructive here as they are in the main world. They are often not treated as strategic resources and have no value. Upon discovery, they are immediately disposed of. As a result, none of the chambers of commerce sell insect-species carcinoma feys.
“This area of North of the Lonely River is extremely vast. Although the resources may not be abundant enough, we can always find some insect-species carcinoma feys if we put in a lot of effort.
“After we control the Crimson Heaven and Spinning Wings White Falcons, I plan to develop the resources North of the Lonely River systematically. When the time comes, you will contract all the collected insect-species carcinoma feys.
“Big Brother Liu, as your strength continues to increase, you will be able to lead white-clothed followers better!”
Liu Jie could feel Lin Yuan’s concern for him. All along, Lin Yuan had always treated him selflessly, evoking a feeling of warmth within him.
Lin Yuan’s words had struck a chord in Liu Jie’s heart. When Sky City had just been established, Lin Yuan had appointed Liu Jie as the leader of the white-clothed followers. However, Liu Jie had never been a powerful person among them.
Since Liu Jie had no competitive relationship with anyone in Sky City, he could still manage himself well even if he was not strong enough. However, insufficient strength was not a good thing. Liu Jie could sense that some of the white-clothed followers were not submissive to him, but he felt powerless to address it.
He could not possibly blame the white-clothed followers for not respecting him enough just because he was not strong enough. To forge iron, one must be strong themselves. With enough strength, Liu Jie would not feel as powerless as before when managing these white-clothed followers.
Wen Yu noticed the details in Lin Yuan’s words. “Young Master, are you preparing to attack the Crimson Heaven and Spinning Wings White Falcons this time?”
Wen Yu’s strategic insight was second only to the Moon Empress in Sky City, surpassing Mystic Moon, Su Yiren, and the others. In the beginning, Mystic Moon had merely provided guidance to Wen Yu. Later, he noticed that Wen Yu had been taken in as a disciple because of her outstanding strategic insight.
Wen Yu was well aware of the benefits of eliminating the Crimson Heaven and Spinning Wings White Falcons and leading Sky City and the faith country to occupy their territory.
To be fair, Sky City only had high-end resources and Soldier Ration Radishes, which provided provisions for sustenance. There was no way to exchange these high-end resources for basic resources in the wilderness of North of the Lonely River.
For the faith country to develop to its current state, it had basically exhausted the foundational resources in the King Blood Jackals’ territory.
Su Yiren and Luo Lan had talked to Wen Yu about this matter more than once, but Wen Yu had never had a good solution because she could not possibly decide to attack the territories of the King Blood Jackals and Crimson Heaven Falcons.
Wen Yu did not know about the strength of Spring, Summer, Autumn, and Winter as well as the Moon Empress.
Lin Yuan had just mentioned that he wanted to control the Crimson Heaven and Spinning Wings White Falcons to develop North of the Lonely River. Based on Wen Yu’s understanding of Lin Yuan, he would not have said such words unless he was confident.
Lin Yuan replied in a serious tone, “That’s right. We’ve actually already attacked the Crimson Heaven and Spinning Wings White Falcons. There will be a result soon.
“After I control them, I’ll get someone to bring you to their territories. You can then personally inspect the resources in these two areas. After your inspection, I’ll have to trouble you to make a resource development plan for their territory.”
Lin Yuan’s words greatly surprised Wen Yu and Liu Jie.
Wen Yu and Liu Jie did not expect Lin Yuan to have attacked the Crimson Heaven and Spinning Wings White Falcons. Since Lin Yuan dared to attack them, it could only mean that he had accumulated a lot of power, which was good for the entire Sky City.
“Young Master, when I head to the territories of the Crimson Heaven and Spinning Wings White Falcons to inspect, I hope that you can dispatch around 200 million demon insects for me. I can allocate a portion of the demon insects to guard every resource location I find.
“Demon insects can sense each other’s presence. The territory of the Spinning Wings White Falcons alone is much larger than that of the King Blood Jackals. If we don’t mark it, I’m afraid we’ll have to waste time searching for many resource locations when we go over to develop them.”
When Keira first arrived at the Sky Beyond the Clouds, 200 million demon insects were considered a very large group. However, now that Keira had been developing there for such a long time, it was easy to mobilize 200 million demon insects. Currently, there are at least 100 billion demon insects.
The majority were primarily Class 3 Genetic Lock demon insects, extensively bred by Class 2 Genetic Lock demon insects. These Class 3 Genetic Lock demon insects were like the cornerstones of the demon insect world. For the sake of the prosperity of the demon insects, they could be consumed at will.
Keira was an extremely ambitious individual. Her ambition did not lie in targeting Sky City or increasing her status in Sky City. Instead, she was constantly prepared to face the other demon insect queens and intended to compete with them.
Lin Yuan, Wen Yu, Liu Jie, and the Moon Empress had noticed this situation, which was why they refrained from managing Keira. For a demon insect, it was good always to maintain their ambitions.
Sky City’s territory was not that big yet. As Sky City’s territory continued to expand, Keira needed to breed many insects to maintain its stability. While Keira’s ability was not highlighted in the establishment of the faith country, she consistently maintained its foundational stability. As soon as the lifeforms that caused trouble were discovered, Keira promptly ordered the demon insects to eliminate them.
Without Keira to maintain stability, the frequent conflicts in the faith country would create an atmosphere of instability. It would be impossible for Sky City to obtain so much faith power.
“Wen Yu, there’s no problem. You have extremely high authority within the demon insects. If you have any requests, you can communicate directly with Keira and get demon insects from her. By then, based on the actual situation, you can have as many demon insects as you want.
“With the expansion of the territory, I’m prepared to release the demon insect, Keira. I’ll provide a large number of genes for Keira to continue strengthening the demon insect army.”
In fact, Sky City possessed top-notch combat power. It could be said that controlling the Crimson Heaven and Spinning Wings White Falcons was much easier than controlling their territories.
Both the Crimson Heaven and Spinning Wings White Falcons had many dependent species under their command and some species that existed independently, struggling for survival between the two species. These species were proud and unwilling to submit to other species or the Crimson Heaven and Spinning Wings White Falcons did not favor them. They were extremely difficult to deal with.
After Lin Yuan gained control of the Crimson Heaven and Spinning Wings White Falcons, he could exercise control over their dependent species, as he did with the King Blood Jackals. Then, he would integrate these dependent species bit by bit into the faith country, becoming a manager who cooperated with the demon insects to maintain stability in the faith country.
However, it would require a lot of effort to deal with those species that were not under the control of the Crimson Heaven and Spinning Wings White Falcons.
Lin Yuan had never been one to rush into things. He would allocate ample time to organize and control these two territories. He could not rush the acquisition of territories and the expansion of the faith country. If Lin Yuan were too hasty, the Soldier Ration Radishes wouldn’t be able to keep up with the production of provisions.
“Young Master, 200 million demon insects are sufficient. There are many specialized flying demon insects among them. I only need two to three of these flying demon insects and about 200 demon insects on the ground to mark a resource location. I’ve been supplying Keira with the genes of various species recently.”
These words reflected Wen Yu’s foresight and strategic insight. With so many talented individuals focusing on internal affairs in the Sky City, Lin Yuan was relieved, knowing that they could grow through their efforts and eventually become managers of the Sky City themselves.
The faith country did not need an individual leader to deliver faith power to all the members of Sky City. Both Su Yiren and Luo Lan needed to relinquish their identity as individual leaders.
In such an environment, Lin Yuan could completely leave the faith country to others. He only needed to make decisions on important matters behind the scenes.
After talking to Wen Yu, Lin Yuan asked Liu Jie, “What’s the situation with Big Brother Liu’s white-clothed followers? Did anything happen while I was gone?”
Liu Jie hurriedly said, “Lin Yuan, I have something to tell you about the white-clothed followers. Sky City’s basic members are divided into Combat Sequence and Reserve Sequence. Reserve Sequence members have always wanted to charge forward. Many of them made it into the Combat Sequence through the annual competition.
“The situation in the main world is relatively stable because the resources obtained by the Combat Sequence members are higher than the Reserve Sequences. Even those who are a little lax will be difficult to surpass.
“But now that they’re in the Sky Beyond the Clouds, both the Combat and Reserve Sequence members must adapt to the environment of the Sky Beyond the Clouds. However, the adaptability to the environment varies depending on the individual’s physique.
“Many Reserve Sequence members have improved by leaps and bounds after coming to the Sky Beyond the Clouds, surpassing the strength of some members in the Combat Sequence. It will be time for the internal competition between the two Sequences in another month. I suggest we re-select the two Sequences’ members, including the white-clothed followers.”
Liu Jie rarely made such a controversial proposal. However, Liu Jie was exceptionally resolute in making this suggestion. As the leader of the white-clothed followers, Liu Jie had to interact frequently with the white-clothed followers, members of Combat Sequence and Reserve Sequence.
These people were indeed loyal to Sky City, but human hearts were fickle. Fairness was the biggest prerequisite to prevent fickleness from arising in people’s hearts. Evaluating one’s position in Sky City based on one’s true strength would be acceptable to everyone.
Even with continuous expansion, the total number of white-clothed followers would ultimately be limited to 500 people.
The white-clothed followers appeared excessively arrogant when facing other Battle and Reserve Sequence members. Liu Jie did not want to see this situation continue, as it would definitely pose a huge threat to Sky City’s development.
If the total number of white-clothed followers and Battle and Reserve Sequence members exceeded 100,000, it would be extremely difficult for Liu Jie to maintain absolute fairness. It would be so difficult that Liu Jie might have no choice but to give up on this idea.
However, with only 5,000 people, Liu Jie’s idea of maintaining absolute fairness was achievable. He only needed to spend some effort, and it was not difficult for Liu Jie.
When Lin Yuan heard Liu Jie’s suggestion, he did not immediately express his stance. Instead, he pondered for a moment before nodding at Liu Jie with a smile. Lin Yuan could also see Liu Jie’s growth from his suggestion.
Lin Yuan had always acknowledged the importance of fairness within a faction. While it might be possible to hold on without fairness for a short period, significant problems were bound to arise over time. Lin Yuan was very pleased that Liu Jie had discovered this and proposed a solution.
“Big Brother Liu, I support your suggestion. When the competition begins, we can make it more grand. Then, inform all the members of the white-clothed followers, Combat Sequence, and Reserve Sequence in advance. When the time comes, the core members of Sky City will attend the ceremony, so let them prepare in advance.
“Why don’t we start discussing what rewards we should prepare for these participants based on their results when the competition ends?”
