Chapter 2840 The Demon Insects Restarted! But this also proved just how powerful the Crimson Heaven Falcons were!
Even the Crimson Heaven Falcons’ dependent species, the Spinning Wings White Falcons, were stronger than the King Blood Jackals.
Hence, it was unlikely that the Crimson Heaven Falcons would take notice of the King Blood Jackals.
Normally, a powerful species liked to protect lifeforms with the same type of bloodline they had. The King Blood Jackals did not qualify.
Spring said from the side, “Young Master, should we make contact with the Crimson Heaven Falcons? If you think we should, I can immediately get in touch with the Crimson Heaven Falcons!
“Alternatively, I can go ahead and take control of them directly. If the Crimson Heaven Falcons are truly staying here because they are holding out for an opportunity, this opportunity must be extremely important to them!
“This opportunity might be useful for us. The Crimson Heaven Falcons should be the descendants of a branch bloodline of an ancient bloodline. I never heard of the Crimson Heaven Falcons in the past.”
Spring and Summer were not at all concerned about the Crimson Heaven Falcons, who supported the Spinning Wings White Falcons. They were merely Domain Mountain/Holy Spirit. Such power was merely tier one in the East Universe.
Spring and Summer felt that they were undeserving of being taken seriously.
Spring had only made an example suggestion to Lin Yuan. However, her suggestion frightened Kani.
Kani thought that once she mentioned the Spinning Wings White Falcons and the Crimson Heaven Falcons who supported them, Lin Yuan would definitely take them seriously. Yet, Spring and Summer could not be less bothered by them.
It would be understandable if they had such an attitude towards the Spinning Wings White Falcons. After all, they only gained their first Holy Spirit Realm expert a few centuries ago. It was highly likely that the expert had not reached Domain Mountain.
However, it was arrogant to act that way toward the Crimson Heaven Falcons.
The Crimson Heaven Falcons were very domineering. This could be seen from the Spinning Wings White Falcons.
She did not have the Crimson Heaven Falcons’ power. Spring and Summer only learned about the Crimson Heaven Falcons from her. Even she was unaware of their power, much less Spring and Summer!
Was Spring not concerned that she would end up tripping and falling while trying to make contact with the Crimson Heaven Falcons?
The Crimson Heaven Falcons were very domineering. This could be seen from the Spinning Wings White Falcons.
Kani did not know if she should give Lin Yuan a reminder. The Crimson Heaven Falcons’ bloodline did not have as long of a legacy as the King Blood Jackals, but almost two epochs had passed since they reached their prime. They could be considered an established species in the Sky Beyond the Clouds.
Was it certain that the Crimson Heaven Falcons were the descendants of the branch bloodline of an ancient bloodline just because Spring had never heard of them?
Kani found Spring rather arrogant but did not dare to upset her. Firstly, it was clear that Spring and Lin Yuan were much closer than she and Lin Yuan. Moreover, Lin Yuan did not react after hearing what Spring said, meaning that he agreed with what she said.
Spring did not know what Kani was thinking, but if she did, she would not mind demonstrating her power to Kani. Spring did not want to be looked down on by an inferior lifeform, especially an inferior lifeform who would be following Lin Yuan in the future.
Spring, Summer, Autumn, and Winter were all dedicating their faith and loyalty to Lin Yuan. However, they felt uncontrollably superior to other lifeforms.
Wen Yu, Liu Jie, and the Moon Empress, who were more sensitive than others, realized this early on in their interactions with the four of them.
Spring, Summer, Autumn, and Winter’s attitudes only started changing slowly once they understood how Lin Yuan thought of them.
“Spring, the King Blood Jackals still have a pile of tasks to attend to. You can go and make contact with the Crimson Heaven Falcons after the villages have settled into the area around the King Blood Jackals’ territory and Sky City’s kingdom and supply of faith are built up! It will be difficult for us to manage all of them if we take on such an enormous operation at once.”
Lin Yuan had already decided that he would focus on developing the King Blood Jackals’ territory for now. On the way there, Sky Sea had passed many villages. Every weak species controlled a few villages. Lin Yuan intended to take control of all of these villages.
As for the weak species, the King Blood Jackals could take those with potential as servants. Those without potential would be given a stable environment where they could continue developing!
Once the trade chain was built, these species would be able to participate in trade with Listen. With the network of trade, all the species connected to it would be able to lead better lives. With a successful trade chain, it would also be easier for Sky City to gather resources.
In order to achieve this, Lin Yuan would need at least ten years. Hence, Lin Yuan was not in a rush to begin working on too many activities.
While Sky City was developing stably in North of the Lonely River, Lin Yuan would explore the East Universe’s main area. Lin Yuan wanted to see how long it would take for information to travel out from North of the Lonely River.
When Kani saw the wild and bold manner in which Lin Yuan and his group acted, she never expected him to be so careful when it came to developing his commercial business. This was good news to her.
“Master, I will invite all the King Blood Jackals to a meeting later. Do you have any suggestions in terms of management? If you do, I will definitely act as per your instructions!”
Spring and Summer were very satisfied with Kani’s actions. Lin Yuan had given her all the authority with regard to managing the King Blood Jackals, but they were still serving Sky City. Otherwise, there was no need for Lin Yuan to invest so much resources into nurturing the King Blood Jackals.
Lin Yuan was silent for a moment before saying to Kani, “In the future, you might be spending more time traveling with me than staying with the King Blood Jackals. So I hope that you will be able to nurture a few trustworthy managers who will truly be able to manage the King Blood Jackals as opposed to tools who will only listen to orders but are unable to make any decisions of their own!
“You will only be able to grow stronger if you stick by my side. Once you evolve to Domain Mountain/Holy Spirit, you will be the King Blood Jackals’ ruler forever!”
Kani never expected Lin Yuan to be willing to keep her by his side and take her out with him to train. This was an extremely rare opportunity for her!
If she was frequently by Lin Yuan’s side, she would become his close aide. With Lin Yuan’s generosity, there were many benefits to being his close aide.
Now that Kani had dedicated her loyalty to Lin Yuan, she would work hard for his sake. With her fountain of faith under his divine kingdom’s control, it was impossible for her to break free from him. However, this did not mean that she should stop trying to gain as many benefits as she could from him.
The part of becoming loyal to Lin Yuan that Kani looked forward to the most was not increasing her own power but the bright future that was in store for the King Blood Jackals once her power was increased.
After thinking for a moment, Kani said, “Master, I think your suggestion of having two rulers is a good one. I will select two outstanding King Blood Jackals and nurture them. They will take over the yoke of authority and oversee the King Blood Jackals.
“I will also assign four guards to each of these two King Blood Jackals. The eight King Blood Jackals will all be male. This will elevate the status of the male King Blood Jackals. Master, what do you think of my suggestion?”
When Lin Yuan made the suggestion of the two rulers to Kani, he had intended to pick a male and a female.
But now, she was going to pick two female rulers. This could be seen as trying to skew Lin Yuan’s plans.
However, Kani had insisted on this because she was the ruler of a matriarchy and looked down on the male King Blood Jackals. She did not want them to have the authority to rule over the King Blood Jackals. Allowing them to be the two female King Blood Jackal rulers’ guards was the biggest compromise she was willing to make!
She was worried that Lin Yuan would reject her suggestion. Hence, she even changed her original plan of having four male and four female guards to eight male guards.
Lin Yuan could see through Kani’s intentions. After pondering over it, he agreed to her plan.
A species that had been developing for all this time had to have its own unspoken norms and customs.
Lin Yuan did not want to change these norms and customs unnecessarily, especially if it was something that Kani was strongly opposed to.
By having eight King Blood Jackals guarding the two new rulers, the male King Blood Jackals’ status among the King Blood Jackals would already be elevated.
“Kani, you can call the shots on this matter. But I don’t want there to be any more rebellions from the male King Blood Jackals while they are under your charge!
“The King Blood Jackals will be responsible for the operations in the territory, and someone will get in contact with you. All the King Blood Jackals are outside the hall. Go and see them! Don’t allow anyone else to enter the inner palace before I leave.”
Kani performed a servant’s most respectful act towards Lin Yuan before leaving to reorganize the King Blood Jackals. She would smooth out all the kinks that could possibly destabilize the King Blood Jackals.
There was one thing that Kani did not tell Lin Yuan and would not be telling him, which was that she was the one who instigated the male King Blood Jackals’ rebellion.
Ripples like that were like waves that rolled across her peaceful life. They allowed her to nurture the best King Blood Jackals and remove those she did not like.
However, this ripple caused all of Kani’s playfulness to vanish because she realized that in the face of real problems, the ambition of the King Blood Jackals she had cultivated would end up seriously affecting her life!
Kani did not know what Lin Yuan saw in her that made him willing to nurture her. If he did not see something in her but was interested in other King Blood Jackals instead, the other King Blood Jackals would not try to plead for mercy for her. Rather, they would gleefully push her towards her doom!
After Kani left, she intentionally stationed two trusted aides by the palace’s entrance to prevent anyone from disturbing Lin Yuan. Kani did not want to think of herself as incompetent and unable to settle even something like this.
Once Kani left, Lin Yuan released Keira. Keira was completely different from what she used to be.
Previously, she protected her one and only batch of insect eggs and held back in everything she did. As badly as she wanted to get on Lin Yuan’s good side, she never dared to use up the entire batch.
But now, she had hatched all of her insect eggs, accumulated 30 more batches, and had specially evolved many demon insects. These demon insects all had extremely strong functional abilities.
Keira felt that she could not compete with the demon insect queens in the West Universe now, but once she unleashed her accumulated power, she would rapidly be able to reach their level! Keira had been pleading with Lin Yuan and hoping that he would set her free to develop herself.
The demon insects’ development did not just depend on spirit qi. They also needed to absorb various lifeforms and their genes. They would then use the genes to produce more types of lifeforms.
After being released by Lin Yuan, Keira once again began pleading with him.
She was delighted that this time, he did not turn her down. Instead, he gave her a real opportunity.
“Keira, I have been restraining you because the time wasn’t right. But the time is right now. The demon insects shouldn’t exist for destruction. I told you this long ago. The demon insects also made a huge contribution to defending the main world during the dead spirits crisis. You also helped to rebuild the main world afterward.
“This version of the demon insects is the one that will be helpful to Sky City. As a ruler and leader, you must agree with what I’m saying. If the demon insects can only develop themselves through destruction, you will be nothing but tools forever.”
Keira was stunned when she heard what Lin Yuan said. But she soon nodded.
This was not the first time that he was telling her this.
At first, she did not agree with what he said. Rapid destruction and plundering were the demon insects’ way of life. If they did not do that, their development would be significantly hindered. In an unfamiliar environment, this did not benefit the demon insects.
But Keira slowly came to understand that the demon insects were dependent on Lin Yuan. They would never be able to obtain the same resources he provided them on their own.
Hence, the demon insects needed to cooperate with Lin Yuan’s plan. This was the reason for them being by Lin Yuan’s side.
Reality proved that Lin Yuan had enabled the demon insects to develop faster than Keira had anticipated.
As such, Keira was very willing to work with Lin Yuan.
“Master, if you have any requests, just let me know. You don’t have to worry about the tasks you leave in my hand. I will carry them out carefully and properly!”
