Chapter 2657 The Attacking Dimensional Lifeforms! The Moon Empress knew rewards were the most effective way to spur fighting spirit and motivation. However, it was not easy to shoulder the cost of such generosity.
Even if the Radiance Federation was squeezed dry of all of its resources, it would not be able to afford the cost of all the rewards that Lin Yuan was offering! This was because the rewards he was offering were of a very high level.
Even if the Spirit-Mouthed Peonies were disregarded, the Moon Empress had no idea where and how Lin Yuan got his hands on the hundreds of thousands of Bronze/Epic and Bronze/Legend feys!
It would take hundreds of Class 4 Creation Masters decades in order to produce so many high-quality Bronze feys, and this was only if they worked tirelessly.
Yet, the rewards Lin Yuan offered so casually were even more precious than these.
This was not the first time that Lin Yuan was providing the Radiance Federation with such precious resources.
Previously, Lin Yuan had also given the Moon Empress a large amount of resources intending to raise the Radiance Federation’s overall power.
However, most of these resources had gone to the Radiance Federation’s factions so they could increase their power.
The resources were meant for the troops fighting the dead spirits this time.
This would not only raise their motivation but would also increase their power in a very short period.
Lin Yuan’s contribution to the Radiance Federation would bring about structural change.
From now on, there would be even more members of the Radiance Federation’s younger generation fighting for the opportunity to join the Radiance Federation’s troops in battling the dead spirits.
With this, the Radiance Federation would not have to worry about recruiting for their frontlines.
Although being stationed near the Dead Spirits Wells and fighting the dead spirits would indeed come with danger, the opportunities were greater.
All they needed to do was work hard and do their best to protect the Radiance Federation, and they would have the opportunity to gain a high-quality Bronze fey that would enable their power to catapult upwards. As long as they conscientiously nurtured their high-quality Bronze feys, they would definitely be able to achieve impressive results!
It could be said that the main reason for most spirit qi professionals becoming stuck at a certain level of power was that they had not managed to acquire a fey with high potential in their early days.
The rewards that Lin Yuan was offering allowed the Moon Empress to see a limitless future for the Radiance Federation.
“Little Yuan, I will call for an imperial meeting just to discuss and implement this reward and punishment system. If you already have an idea in mind, you can tell me about it now!”
Lin Yuan hurriedly shook his head and said honestly, “Master I don’t have any ideas. You can make the decision during the imperial meeting! I went to the Dead Spirits Wells today to check on the situation and have noted what we need to research and put work into going forward. Wen Yu will organize them before handing the information to you!
“The Creation Masters will definitely have their work cut out for them for the next few decades! In order to prevent them from becoming bitter, I will also provide the Creation Masters with additional resources.”
The Moon Empress said seriously, “Little Yuan, you don’t have to worry about the Creation Masters. I might not be able to provide as many resources as you, but I can keep these Creation Masters in line with no issues!
“The Radiance Federation is in a state of emergency. The Creation Masters are a part of the Radiance Federation, so they want to protect it! They also work hard and hope the dead spirits crisis will pass as smoothly as possible!”
Lin Yuan did not spend too much time in the Radiant Moon Palace. When he left, he headed to the sea clans to see how they were doing.
The sea clans’ battle with the dead spirits was much more intense than the Radiance Federation, which only had to deal with the dead spirits coming from the hundreds of Dead Spirits Wells.
Dazzling Silver had sent a message to Lin Yuan through the Thoughts Letter Paper asking him for help.
There were far too many dead spirits in the sea. It was difficult for just the sea clans and water world dimensional lifeforms to deal with all of the dead spirits.
The sea was filled to the brim with dead spirits. Luckily, the death aura released by the dead spirits only affected the sea clans who came from the main world. The sea beasts and mermaids were considered dimensional lifeforms and thus undisturbed by the death aura.
Some sea beasts liked to consume the dead spirits and could digest and absorb the death aura. They even attained new abilities from absorbing and digesting the death aura!
This was extremely good news for Lin Yuan. The dimensional lifeforms were much stronger than the feys and humans living in the main world.
The Dead Decay Earthworms could not live underwater. If the sea clans were also troubled by the death aura, Lin Yuan would have no means of helping them for the foreseeable future!
After all, Lin Yuan’s army of Hundred Questions Beasts and the Creation Masters had to serve the humans first.
The battles happening at the borders between the main world and dimensional worlds were much more intense than the battles in the sea.
The tsunami of dead spirits flooded into the dimensional worlds. The dead spirits had already fully invaded the alien insect, abyssal, subterranean, and marsh worlds.
However, the invasion of the dead spirits had also been met with strong counterattacks by the native dimensional lifeforms.
Firstly, more than 80% of the marsh world was comprised of a marshy environment. The ground was dark, but when one stepped foot on it, half of one’s body would sink in immediately. If one could not save oneself or was pulled out by anyone else, they would eventually sink fully into the mud.
The specters were fine as they were in a soul state. However, most of the dead spirits in solid form had become stuck in the marsh and ended up as food for the Marsh Crocodiles.
There were many Marsh Crocodiles in the marsh world. They could be found almost everywhere where there was marsh.
If they could not find food, the Marsh Crocodiles would even feast on each other.
But now, the Marsh Crocodiles finally had the opportunity to fill their stomachs.
The waves of dead spirits were torn apart in the marsh. The death aura could affect the Marsh Crocodiles to a certain extent, but their bodies could quickly adjust to the death aura.
The Marsh Crocodiles were accustomed to hunger, and this was the first time that they were experiencing what it was like to have an endless supply of food.
The dead spirit corpses in the marsh became nutrients for the fungi in the marsh world. The fungi broke down the dead spirit corpses.
The dimensional lifeforms like the Drugged Snake Eagle and Medusa Snake Demon that liked to consume souls feasted on the floating specters.
Specters had much tougher souls than regular souls. Initially, the marsh world dimensional lifeforms had been anxious about the dead spirits crisis. But now, they saw it as a gift.
In a few days, the marsh dimensional lifeforms came to an unspoken shared sentiment: they hoped that the dead spirits crisis would never end! If it ended, when would they have another chance to fill their stomachs daily again?
Some dimensional lifeforms were killed by powerful dead spirits, but death was a part of life for the dimensional lifeforms. It was normal in the dimensional worlds for there to be death during the hunt for food.
Because of Lin Yuan’s orders, some Apostles and Dictators would quickly kill these more powerful dead spirits.
The death of every powerful dead spirit was good news for the weaker dimensional lifeforms.
With the dead spirits as a source of food, low-class dimensional lifeforms like the Marsh Crocodiles and Marsh Fireflies were able to reproduce rapidly.
Lin Yuan was stunned for almost five minutes after he heard this. He never thought that the dead spirits crisis would become a blessing for the marsh world!
The marsh world was not considered outstanding amongst the five dimensional worlds.
The abyssal world was doing just as well, or maybe even slightly better than the marsh world.
The abyss demons were very adaptable. Lin Yuan had tested this some time ago.
This was because the abyss demons from the abyssal world were not fire-type by nature. They only came to become fire-type because of the influence of the Abyss Red Lotus.
The abyss demons’ strong adaptability allowed it to change itself according to its environment.
After the abyss demons consumed the dead spirits, many abyss demons started exhibiting attributes of the dead spirits.
This change in type would allow the abyss demons to absorb death aura and use it as a source of strength.
Suppose Lin Yuan could not research and produce feys like the Dead Decay Earthworm, after a few hundred years of evolution. In that case, the abyss demons might be able to take the job of cleansing their environment of death aura.
The dimensional world that was performing the best against the dead spirits was the alien insect world that Keira was leading.
Food was the alien insects’ greatest need. If the lack of food did not restrict the size of the alien insect species, there would already be enough of them to fill every corner of the world!
After Lin Yuan gave Keira the Soldier Ration Radishes in the Diamond fey storage boxes, the size of the alien insect species had grown significantly.
When the dead spirits invaded, Keira commandeered the alien insect empresses and alien insect queens to lead the alien insects into battle.
They eventually discovered that the dead spirits were edible. They might not taste very good, but they could provide the muscles with energy.
After realizing this, the alien insects started to treasure their food.
The alien insects like the Acid Tapeworm could even use the strong acid produced in their abdomens to preserve the dead spirits and prevent them from spoiling.
Some absurd female insects even wanted to make the dead spirits their mates and insisted on taking the dead spirits’ genes to produce offspring with them. The female insects’ strong reproductive ability caused many dead spirits to unwittingly become fathers.
As such, many alien insects with dead spirit attributes were born, and they became effective tools for targeting the dead spirits.
There were even some female insects who fought each other in order to mate with powerful dead spirits.
If Keira had not interfered in the infighting between the alien insects, the various alien insect species would definitely have begun viciously fighting among themselves over resources.
The dimensional world that was faring the worst against the dead spirits was the subterranean world.
Most of the lifeforms in the subterranean world consumed minerals and metals. This meant that dead spirits could not become part of their diet.
As a result, the fighting was the most intense between the subterranean dimensional lifeforms and dead spirits.
Because of this, Lin Yuan had no choice but to send some alien insects and abyss demons that could live in the subterranean world’s environment to the subterranean world to help them fight the dead spirits.
The impressive performance of the alien insect, abyssal, and marsh worlds greatly boosted Lin Yuan’s confidence.
It was likely that Tower Canon’s Eight Pages had not expected that the dead spirits crisis they had been planning for so long was now serving as a food source for these dimensional lifeforms!
Compared to the dimensional lifeforms, the humans were extremely poor at acclimating!
However, the humans had boundless creativity. Immediately after Lin Yuan entered the water, a group of dead spirits charged at him.
Lin Yuan could not tell which epoch these dead spirits came from. They were not strong. The strongest of them was only Silver grade.
Lin Yuan raised his hand and created a current that tore apart the dead spirits.
Ice Flow knew that Lin Yuan was coming to observe how the sea clans were faring against the dead spirits, so he had been waiting for Lin Yuan.
Ice Flow could not help but immediately ask Lin Yuan for help upon seeing him.
Some sea beasts from the dimensional worlds could consume the dead spirit corpses and absorb the death aura. However, there were not many of such species, and they were insufficient to catch up to the rate at which the dead spirits were emerging.
There were already many members of sea clans who were in bad condition because their bodies had been infected by death aura.
If this issue was not solved, the size of the relatively weaker sea clans would gradually grow smaller.
The Vast Sea Labyrinth would have solved their issues on their own if they were capable of doing so. But since they lacked the capabilities, they had no choice but to ask Lin Yuan for help.
From Ice Flow’s pleas for help, Lin Yuan could feel his frustration as the ruler of the sea clans.
At this moment, Lin Yuan thought of the Sea Burial Lotus Flower. The sea’s death aura was the best nutrient source for the Sea Burial Lotus Flower.
Lin Yuan could instruct Dazzling Silver, Light Green Umber, Blue Umber, Red Beauty, and the other emperor-class mermaids to watch over Silver Corona.
As Silver Corona grew freely in the sea, the places it covered would no longer be affected by the death aura, and the sea clans would be safe!
A carcinoma fey that had previously been hated by the sea clans to the point that they would chop it down immediately after glimpsing it would now become their savior.
“I do have an idea. It will be able to clear out all the death aura in a certain area. However, this will not solve the root of the problem. Regardless of how effective this method is, it will never be able to protect all of the sea clans!
“I need to make sure that you are aware of this. The humans are also grappling with the death aura during our battle against the dead spirits. The death aura has injured many human experts.
“Our Creation Masters will need to find a way to help the humans first. Once they have solved the problems the humans face, we will attend to the sea clans immediately!”
Lin Yuan gave the unpleasant news first. He was speaking nothing but the truth.
Ice Flow really liked Lin Yuan’s candid style of communication. If Lin Yuan could provide the sea clans with a space that was free of death aura, it would already be extremely helpful for the sea clans as the injured troops could use that area to rest and recover.
The Vast Sea Labyrinth was aware to a certain extent of what was happening over on the human side. They knew that the humans were not having an easy time either.
There were some members of sea clans who had Creation Master abilities.
