Chapter 2808 Time to Set Off! In the main world, there were many more sea clans than terrestrial lifeforms.
Without Lin Yuan, the main world’s federations and feys would be no match for the sea clans, even if they worked together.
The Vast Sea Labyrinth was the strongest sea faction but had always kept a low profile and stayed out of the main world’s affairs. They only stepped forward to save the sea clans when the dead spirits crisis broke out.
Now, Lin Yuan was preparing to head to the Sky Beyond the Clouds. Lin Yuan would not use Dark Blue’s divine kingdom ability to nurture the sea clans.
There were many lifeforms in the water territories of the Sky Beyond the Clouds. The water species made up more than half of the ranks on the top 100 of the Species Ranking.
Lin Yuan would be able to garner greater benefits if he used Ocean Abundance to nurture a species that could produce special resources.
The Spirit Lock spatial zone was continuously expanding, and Lin Yuan decided to set aside a space to turn into a sea where Dark Blue could live.
Lin Yuan would nurture more aquatic lifeforms in the Sky Beyond the Clouds.
The Elemental Shellfish that produced elemental pearls were also considered production-type aquatic lifeforms. These Elemental Shellfish could be boosted by Ocean Abundance.
Rather than increasing the rate at which the water-type lifeforms produced resources, Lin Yuan was more interested in Ocean Abundance’s ability to speed up the evolution of water-type lifeforms, as well as their provision of faith power.
Aside from Ocean Abundance, Dark Blue had also gained three new abilities: Quiet Faith Weak Water, Faith Charging Tide, and Faith Refinement.
Ever since Dark Blue reached Silver grade, all of its abilities were related to faith power.
Faith Charging Tide used faith power to attack enemies while reducing the other party’s faith power.
Faith power would turn into charging tides that washed over the target. When Dark Blue sacrificed its own faith power, the same amount of faith power would be stripped from the target.
This depreciation did not come with any losses, but Dark Blue would be able to receive half of the faith power that had been depleted. This would allow Dark Blue to restrict enemies whose faith power was much more powerful than its own!
Any ability that allowed a weaker entity to defeat a stronger entity was an amazing one.
Compared to Faith Charging Tide, Quiet Faith Weak Water did not have any strong combat effects. However, it was a terrifying restricting ability.
Quiet Faith Weak Water was something that Dark Blue produced using its own faith power, bloodline, and the 12 different attributes. It did not target the lifeform’s body, spirit, or soul but the fountain of faith in the divine kingdom.
Once the weak water that Dark Blue produced entered the target’s fountain of faith, the water flow would slow down and eventually become still.
Once the water in the fountain of faith became still, the divine kingdom would not be able to operate and would be rendered ineffective.
However, it would not be easy to enable the Quiet Faith Weak Water to enter the enemy’s divine kingdom. The target needed to be restrained and would need to open its divine kingdom to absorb the Quiet Faith Weak Water.
Hence, Quiet Faith Weak Water was more so targeted at enemy captives. It was a functional-type ability that could prevent the enemy captives from inappropriately using their abilities.
When Lin Yuan went to the Sky Beyond the Clouds, he would inevitably need to conquer the powerful species.
If the white-clothed followers carried the Quiet Faith Weak Water around with them, it would save them a lot of trouble while they were carrying out guard duties.
Compared to Faith Charging Tide and Quiet Faith Weak Water, Faith Refinement did not have any combat functions and was a pure support-type ability.
Faith power could be extracted from targets using special methods. However, the extracted faith power usually contained substantial impurities.
Dark Blue’s Faith Refinement could be used to refine the impure faith power and enable it to be absorbed by other targets. Hence, in the future, Lin Yuan could use the impure fragments of faith power that he obtained from other lifeforms. Once the faith power had been purified, it could be used to evolve other lifeforms who needed faith power to strengthen themselves.
Dark Blue’s abilities were all related to faith power. However, its two exclusive skills were unrelated to faith power.
Charging Flow Body allowed the water in Dark Blue’s body to continue flowing rapidly. The rapidly flowing body would not restrain Dark Blue in any way. The circulation of energy in its body would not be affected either.
For a lifeform, these effects were very powerful. It was a controlling-type exclusive skill that would not restrict itself in any way but would essentially cripple other lifeforms.
Moreover, Charging Glow Body could speed up Dark Blue’s collection of faith power. This would allow Dark Blue to gather faith power even faster than before.
Mermaid Crown was strongly linked to Dark Blue’s mermaid bloodline, enabling it to control the mermaid species.
Even if the mermaids did not respect Dark Blue and its bloodline, Dark Blue could still extract and manipulate the faith power in the bodies of mermaids with inferior bloodlines.
In the Sky Beyond the Clouds, there was no guarantee that a mermaid with a strong bloodline would be able to gain authority immediately among new mermaid species.
In the Sky Beyond the Clouds, mermaids clustered together in different clans. A mermaid clan had inferior mermaids at the bottom and mermaid emperors and mermaid thearchs at the top. They were all linked by their bloodlines.
Unless a mermaid’s bloodline was at a much higher level than that of another mermaid, they would end up spurned.
Mermaid Crown would allow Dark Blue to ignore the rejection from the other mermaids it wanted to control.
After Dark Blue took control of these mermaids’ faith power, it would not have to worry about these mermaids being disobedient and acting out.
Lin Yuan would not express excessive pity toward mermaids just because he had the mermaid thearch bloodline.
Ever since Lin Yuan activated his Body of All Spirits, he could control the bloodlines of all species in the world. If he was especially merciful toward them, there would be no need for him to head to the Sky Beyond the Clouds to contest for supremacy!
Aside from enabling Dark Blue to take control of the faith power of mermaids with inferior bloodlines, Mermaid Crown also allowed Dark Blue’s faith power to improve when the mermaids in the vicinity gained faith power.
Lin Yuan learned from his communication with Dark Blue that Mermaid Crown could cover an area the same size as that of Ocean Abundance.
It seemed that aside from using Ocean Abundance to nurture aquatic lifeforms that could produce resources, Lin Yuan also needed to nurture promising mermaids to speed up the improvement of Dark Blue’s divine kingdom!
Lin Yuan had learned from Fan Lou and Kong Huan that most of the mermaids from the East Universe had relocated to the North Universe.
The Bloodians in the East Universe had targeted the mermaids and continuously invaded their living spaces. It was said that this was because a bigshot of the Bloodians desired the mermaid bloodline.
The East Universe was enormous. When Lin Yuan first arrived, he would have to begin by developing quietly. He could not begin searching for the mermaids immediately.
This led Lin Yuan to think of the mermaids in the main world. The mermaids came to the main world through a dimensional rift and found the main world’s environment to be suitable. They thus began proliferating their presence in the main world.
Mermaids were affiliated with water. As a result, more water-type lifeforms felt a certain level of affection for mermaids. Even the violent sea beasts would never lay a hand on the mermaids and attempt to eat them unless they were starving.
Now, the mermaids were done taking over the main world’s seas. This had brought peace to the seas. The mermaids would even help the human trading boats they encountered to clear their paths.
However, this was just the present. As time continued passing in the main world, the mermaids would eventually supersede the Vast Sea Labyrinth as the rulers of the seas.
Mermaids had beautiful appearances, but they were not kind. They were highly intelligent creatures and were just as ambitious as humans. If not reined in, they would definitely attack the main world.
There were signs of the mermaids doing so in the water world. As a species that prioritized bloodline, the mermaids would be unwilling to share the sea with other species as long as they had sufficient power to keep them out.
There were very few sea beasts in the water world’s territory occupied by the mermaids.
A few inferior mermaids would even leave the mermaids’ territory to hunt sea beasts and cruelly attack them for sport.
Lin Yuan had already noticed these issues some time ago. He felt he could use this opportunity to raise the mermaids in the Spirit Lock spatial zone before taking proper control of them.
Dark Blue already had a higher mermaid emperor bloodline and was capable of ruling the mermaids.
Under Lin Yuan’s orders, the emperor-class mermaids, Dazzling Silver, Light Green Umber, Dark Blue, and Red Beauty, listened to Dark Blue’s orders and assisted it dutifully.
It would not be long before Dark Blue’s bloodline evolved to mermaid thearch.
... After evolving Dark Blue, Lin Yuan stretched. He did not intend to evolve any more feys in the main world.
In the three years that had passed, Lin Yuan’s appearance had not changed much. However, his charisma was outstanding! He radiated the aura of an elite.
In the past three years, Lin Yuan had completed the final safeguards for the main world and had increased the power of all the people he needed to do so. Even if he left the main world with his team now, the main world would be able to continue functioning stably for at least the next 1,000 years.
As for how the main world would continue developing after 1,000 years, that would be up to the main world’s fate!
Lin Yuan would continue to protect the main world in the Sky Beyond the Clouds and would not allow it to be invaded or disturbed.
... In the past 10 years, Chu Ci had also grown up into a lady. After being nurtured by Lin Yuan, she had reached the Divine Kingdom level sooner than him.
Chu Ci had been reliable since young. As she followed Lin Yuan around, she slowly came to understand that the meaning of power was protection.
In Chu Ci’s journey of growth, she also came to have someone in her life whom she wholeheartedly wanted to protect. This person was Lin Yuan.
In the past, Chu Ci lacked power and was unable to protect Lin Yuan. But now, she had considerable power and would continue to increase it.
Besides staying by Lin Yuan’s side, Chu Ci frequently went to see Cold Moon to receive her teachings.
Cold Moon’s teachings no longer only involved those of increasing her power. Instead, Cold Moon focused more on teaching Chu Ci to nurture her capabilities.
Cold Moon also taught Chu Ci management skills and was considered Liu Jie’s peer. In terms of military campaigns, she was no match for Liu Jie. But when it came to negotiation, she was stronger than him.
For the past three years, Lin Yuan had sent Chu Ci to liaise with the mermaids. The mermaids were now all living in the Spirit Lock spatial zone.
Luckily, the Spirit Lock spatial zone was sufficiently large, and the mermaids were a relatively small species. Otherwise, Lin Yuan would have no way of containing all of them!
In the last three years that Lin Yuan spent evolving the main world, Hu Quan had also worked hard on building the base on Sky Sea’s back to the best of his abilities.
... Lin Yuan sought out Wen Yu. Wen Yu had slowed down her pace of life in the past few years. Since she already intended to leave the main world to head to the Sky Beyond the Clouds, there was no need for Wen Yu to continue managing the main world.
Once she left, someone would have to take over her job. In the past three years, aside from paying attention to Sky City and managing its internal affairs, Wen Yu had returned to her role as a Weaver and helped Lin Yuan to make many new sets of clothes.
Now that she had changed from a busy lifestyle to a rather mundane one, Wen Yu’s mindset had improved significantly.
When Wen Yu spotted Lin Yuan, she set down the scissors she was holding and smiled in greeting.
Wen Yu’s long hair reached her waist, and her lips curled gently. “Young Master, I am almost done making this new set of clothes. I don’t make many half-armors, so I spent a lot of time picking the inner lining.”
Lin Yuan smiled. “Wen Yu, in the past three years, your mindset has improved the most out of you, me, and Big Brother Liu. However, it won’t be long before you lose all your free time.”
Wen Yu’s eyes flashed. “Young Master, all the people who will be heading with you to the Sky Beyond the Clouds have received Thoughts Letter Papers. I will send out the message now!”
Lin Yuan grinned. Regardless of what he said, Wen Yu was always able to understand his meaning immediately.
“Wen Yu, inform the others, but I will let Master know personally.”
Wen Yu nodded seriously. In truth, Wen Yu had not been very happy when the Moon Empress joined Sky City.
This was not because Wen Yu disrespected the Moon Empress. It was actually the opposite. As a previous moon attendant in the Radiant Moon Palace, Wen Yu had always seen the Moon Empress as her idol. It was also the Moon Empress who had given her the chance to change her destiny.
Lin Yuan, Liu Jie, and Wen Yu had established Sky City. Wen Yu was very afraid that after the Moon Empress joined Sky City, Lin Yuan would no longer be Sky City’s true leader.
However, it was proven that she had overthought. After the Moon Empress joined Sky City, she followed Lin Yuan quietly and acted as Sky City’s support.
With her joining Sky City, the faction’s management simplified significantly.
Both in the past and now, the Moon Empress quietly sheltered Lin Yuan and helped him to lay down a steady path.
Hence, Wen Yu understood the respect that Lin Yuan felt for the Moon Empress.
