Chapter 2711: He is the Saint? Lin Yuan’s voice was extremely stern. If Keira had informed him when the anomaly first arose, he could have made preparations sooner.
He had slept soundly in the Return from Faraway Mansion last night and had not wanted his body to be stressed by other matters.
If he had known about the anomaly sooner, he could have instructed Keira to take him to investigate the situation and come up with a plan of action sooner.
Lin Yuan knew that Keira was not using her full powers to tackle the dead spirits. She had only produced five demon insect eggs.
This had displeased Lin Yuan from the beginning. However, he had not said anything to Keira because the five demon insects managed to handle the situation.
In actuality, he could guess what Keira was thinking. She was never concerned about the main world and only wanted to return to the
The Sky Beyond the Clouds was where she could expand her species and demonstrate her prowess.
But to Lin Yuan, this world was his home. He also had the desire to venture into the Sky Beyond the Clouds, but he had to ensure the safety of the main world first.
Keira’s expression froze when she heard what he said, and terror soon spread across her face. She could sense Lin Yuan’s rage.
It was true that she had found out early on about the change in the dead spirits wave.
But at the time, she had been anxious to absorb the pure spirit qi from the Spirit Lock spatial zone to strengthen herself. She also assumed that the acceleration in the emergence of dead spirits would not be of any obstruction to the demon insects.
After all, the demon insects could still consume the dead spirits. More food was beneficial for the demon insects.
As a highly intelligent lifeform, Keira could stand in Lin Yuan’s shoes and figure out the reason for his perspective.
It was no wonder that Lin Yuan had placed emphasis on informing him when any changes arose.
Now that she understood this, Keira’s heart sank. This matter was indeed serious.
After pondering further, Keira decided not to explain herself but directly admit her mistake.
“Master, I wasn’t able to fully comprehend what you wanted. I lost myself absorbing pure spirit qi and forgot my responsibility. I will instruct the other demon insects to produce more female insects that can take on the dead spirits.”
Lin Yuan reached out and flicked Keira’s head. “Keira, I hope you won’t disappoint me again! I see no need in nurturing a species that can’t even carry out my directives.”
Red Thorn was seated on Lin Yuan’s shoulder and said, “Yuan, now that I’ve evolved into an eight-winged fairy, I can take control of her and manipulate her abilities to nurture the species! It just so happens that a new Tongue of Relinquish is about to grow.”
A look of excited desire appeared on Red Thorn’s face while it spoke. Red Thorn’s power was increased when it used the Tongue of Relinquish to take control of powerful targets.
Red Thorn preferred to take control of Keira, who had powerful potential, rather than the Tarot experts.
Red Thorn’s words caused a chill of horror to run through Keira. This also allowed Keira to realize Lin Yuan was not reliant on her. He had the means to take control of her and utilize her abilities after her death.
In their relationship, she was the one relying on him. Keira was so nervous that her limbs started to convulse, and she kept her head dipped. She was terrified that Lin Yuan would take Red Thorn up on its suggestion.
Lin Yuan did not engage Red Thorn. Rather, he said seriously to the antsy Keira, “I will give you another chance. Don’t forget that this is your last one. The success of the outcome isn’t important. What’s important is that you follow my orders!”
Keira nodded vigorously. She took out the dimensional lifeforms she had captured and began laying unhatched demon insect fetuses.
Keira had been so reserved in her production of the demon insect fetuses because it was very difficult to produce new ones. It required an enormous amount of energy. Each time she produced female insect fetuses, Keira needed to use a large portion of her roots.
Luckily, after entering the Spirit Lock spatial zone, Keira realized that it was no longer difficult for her to produce the female insect fetuses. In the Spirit Lock spatial zone’s pure spirit qi-filled environment, she could produce a batch of female insect fetuses every two to three years.
This was much faster than the demon insect empresses in the Sky Beyond the Clouds, who received resources from their demon insect citizens!
If she was able to keep up this production rate in the Sky Beyond the Clouds, her branch of the demon insects would be able to take control of the entire demon insects. She might even be able to become the thearch of the demon insect empresses.
Because of Lin Yuan, Keira was able to see a beautiful future. But she was also fully shackled by him. She would never take his orders lightly again.
“Master, thank you for giving me another chance. From now on, I will carry out your orders with the best methods. I will carve your orders into my Genetic Lock!”
When Lin Yuan decided to give Lin Keira a chance and did not allow Red Thorn to use the Tongue of Relinquish to take control of Keira, Red Thorn felt slightly regretful.
Keira was much better than the stupid Acid Corrosion Queen Bee. Apart from consuming acid and building messy nests in its Mouths of
Relinquish, the Acid Corrosion Queen Bee was not good for anything else.
Lin Yuan was so displeased with Keira because she had not listened to his orders and because he had already used True Data to check on Keira and found out that she could produce the demon insect females in batches.
Lin Yuan did not relax because Keira intended to produce more demon insect eggs. He was still worried.
It was unlikely that Tower Canon’s counterattack would be affected by the increase in the quantity of demon insects. It was probable that Tower Canon had found a way to counter the demon insects.
It did not take long for the Abyss Great Emperor to take Lin Yuan to where the five female demon insects were situated.
During the entire journey, Lin Yuan remained fused with the Abyss Red Lotus and detected the surrounding environment. However, he had failed to sense two figures watching him from the shadows.
The tall and skinny girl with flowers printed on her skirt said in a soft voice, “Summer, when Tower Canon’s manipulation is taken out of the equation, all of the strange happenings in the main world came from this young man. Do you think he could be the awakened Lord Saint?”
The girl’s voice was hopeful. Since leaving Epoch God Palace, Spring and Summer had been investigating the main world.
The knights from Epoch God Palace had been continuously supplying them with information. Spring and Summer knew almost everything that had happened in the main world in the last two years.
After filtering through the information, there was no other possibility aside from that young man.
Summer twirled her long dark green hair and said with a faint tremble in her voice, “Normally, we should begin observing the candidates after looking through all that has happened in the world in the past few years. But we don’t have any other candidates and can only continue observing this human young man named Lin Yuan!
“Look at the exotic red flower blooming on the temples of the eight-winged fairy seated on the young man’s shoulder. Doesn’t it resemble the flowers blooming on the strange plant depicted on the wall illustration?”
Summer was all but certain that Lin Yuan was Lord Saint’s reincarnation. How else could a young human take control of the corpse of an Afterlife Realm dimensional lifeform?
The power of an Afterlife Realm dimensional lifeform was beyond that of a Class 1 world. It was also considered exceptional in a Class 2 world.
When a Class 1 world was promoted to Class 2, the concentration of spirit qi would rise and it would be easier for the lifeforms in the world to comprehend world willpowers. As a result, both the humans and feys in this world would undergo rapid improvement in the next few centuries. It would no longer be as difficult to evolve their grades.
The one who had enabled this world to promote from Class 1 to Class 2 was this young man in front of them.
Summer looked at Lin Yuan with a gaze that brimmed with admiration. However, she felt that it was a shame that she and Spring could not appear in front of Lin Yuan to prevent interfering with Lord Saint’s growth.
Summer was always more cautious than Spring. After reeling in her thoughts, she said, “For now, we can focus on observing this young man. He won’t be able to avoid summoning his feys when he battles Tower Canon. At that point, we will be able to tell if his feys match the ones on the wall illustration. We might even be able to sense Lord Totem God’s aura!”
Spring fell silent for a moment before she said, “I think we should tell Autumn and Winter about our discoveries so they can also learn about the good news. We will also be able to protect Lord Saint while we’re observing him!”
Keira had already issued orders to the five female demon insects before Lin Yuan arrived at the nest so they could come out to greet him.
Currently, the five female demon insects’ mindsets differed drastically.
At first, Keira had relied on Doom the most. But Keira later abandoned Doom when she felt that Doom had failed to demonstrate the might of the demon insects to Lin Yuan. She began relying on the four other female demon insects instead.
The four other female demon insects led insect armies and battled the dead spirits at the borders of the dimensional worlds.
After consuming the dead spirits, their insect armies expanded and were now at least seven times larger than Doom’s own.
Hence, the other four female demon insects steamrolled over Doom. The five female demon insects had gathered there because they had received Keira’s orders three days ago.
Keira planned on using spirit qi crystals to strengthen the five female demon insects. Otherwise, the five female demon insects would take two to three days to travel and gather together.
The female demon insects were all happily waiting for rewards from Keira.
However, they noticed that Keira had produced more female demon insects.
This made all of the female demon insects nervous. They were worried that Keira would replace them because she found their recent performances unsatisfactory.
At first, Doom and the other four had other discoveries that they wanted to report to Keira. But now, they did not know how to broach the subject. These matters could be considered the first failures of the demon insects in their bid to fend off the dead spirits.
The special dead dimensional lifeforms had killed some of the demon insects they had produced!
However, there were not many of these special dead dimensional lifeforms, and they could not be considered a threat to the demon insects’ advantage over the dead spirits wave.
In a low voice, Keira told Doom and the other four demon insects, “Go and tell Master about the current circumstances of the defeat against the dead spirits.
Don’t leave anything out! Otherwise, I will get rid of all of you immediately.”
As a demon insect queen, Keira did not see these female insects she had produced as her offspring but her tools. Hence, she did not feel any emotional ties to them.
This was especially so now because she had the resources to produce female insects in batches.
Keira’s words caused them to tremble in front of Lin Yuan. They could no longer be concerned about whether this negative piece of news would anger Keira. Angering Keira was better than hiding this news and ending up eliminated!
Due to their Genetic Locks, they had no choice but to listen to Keira’s orders.
“Master, the dead spirits are still able to effectively restrain the dead spirits waves and use the dead spirits waves to reproduce. However, a giant special dead spirit has emerged in the dead spirits waves.
“Based on our observation, we’re confident it’s a kind of dead dimensional lifeform. However, it differs from dead dimensional lifeforms that emit a significant death aura, as it releases only a small amount of death aura. Nonetheless, it can harness this death aura in its attacks. Furthermore, it has the ability to consume demon insects, using them as a source of energy after digestion.”
Keira’s eyes widened. It turned out that Tower Canon had such capabilities and could dispatch dead dimensional lifeforms that were able to consume demon insects!
Doom and the rest did not have the courage to hide the truth. It was likely that they had only just received this news.
The war between the demon insects and dead spirits was no longer about occupying territory. Both sides had begun viciously cutting each other down.
Keira was afraid that Lin Yuan would think she had kept all this information from him.
If she had found out about what the dead spirits had up their sleeves, she would have informed Lin Yuan about it immediately.
Lin Yuan could not help but frown when he heard that and quickly issued orders to the Samsara Realm Dictators stationed in the dimensional worlds. He ordered them to capture the newly emerged dimensional lifeforms so that he could examine them.
There had to be a fair number of types of dimensional lifeforms. Lin Yuan was afraid that Tower Canon had more moves to play aside from these dead dimensional lifeforms that could consume demon insects.
“Keira, I will send my subordinates out to capture the newly discovered dead dimensional lifeforms and bring them before you. Instruct the dead dimensional lifeforms born from death aura to consume these new dead dimensional lifeforms’ genes. We must make a proper comparison of these dead dimensional lifeforms!”
The demon insects’ biggest advantage was their ability to absorb the genes of other lifeforms.
As long as they could be combined with the genes of the new dead dimensional lifeforms, the offspring subsequently produced by the female demon insects would be able to overcome the new dead dimensional lifeforms.
Presently, aside from relying on the demon insects, Lin Yuan did not have any other means of fighting Tower Canon..
