Chapter 2810 Your Name! The Ethereal Jellyfish was a spatial source-type lifeform that the Moon Empress had found for Lin Yuan.
The Moon Empress’ ability to comprehend Willpower Runes was very strong, but it was still not easy.
Yet, Lin Yuan had managed to nurture this spatial source-type fey to such a degree.
It was difficult for the Moon Empress not to be amazed by Lin Yuan’s ability to nurture feys.
Lin Yuan looked at the abilities, exclusive skills, and divine kingdom ability that the Ethereal Jellyfish had gained and thought, When I realized that the Ethereal Jellyfish reacts to the Abyssal Beast bloodline, I gave it the extracted bloodline to absorb. Now, the Ethereal Jellyfish has gained abilities related to the Abyssal Beasts.
This significantly increased the Ethereal Jellyfish’s ability to acclimate to the Sky Beyond the Clouds.
Taking Space Collapse and Space Stasis as examples, one drained its energy to pierce a selected space and release the entities within, while the other used the energy to fortify the selected space to prevent it from crumbling or being targeted by others. These two abilities were useful in daily life and battle.
However, compared to a special functional-type ability like Abyss Fishing, the value of these two abilities was almost void!
Abyss Fishing allowed the Ethereal Jellyfish to drain all of the energy in its body to place its tentacles in an abyss before using the tentacles to fish for entities that had either been released into the abyss or that existed there. Lifeforms weaker than the Ethereal Jellyfish could also be picked out.
Anything that could avoid being destroyed by the abyss and could continue drifting there was not simple and extremely valuable.
Most of the lifeforms that could be found in the abyss were Abyssal Beasts. If the Abyssal Beast caught by the Ethereal Jellyfish was too strong, the Ethereal Jellyfish would suffer a backlash. But unless the Abyssal Beast, which was weaker than the Ethereal Jellyfish, had potential, it would not have much use.
The Ethereal Jellyfish also had to undertake risks when it used Abyss Fishing. Unless the Ethereal Jellyfish could increase its power and reach Pinnacle Divine Kingdom level, at the very least, Lin Yuan would not instruct it to use Abyss Fishing.
Abyss Fishing seemed similar to Dissociate Catch. However, Dissociate Catch targeted dimensional energy in a space, while Abyss Fishing targeted that which did not belong to this world.
The World Emperor ability Overload Transformation fundamentally raised the Ethereal Jellyfish’s potential and value.
The Ethereal Jellyfish’s main tentacles would produce an imitation that could store a large amount of energy. This meant that the Ethereal Jellyfish would be able to gain a large vessel in which to store a large volume of energy.
This store of energy would allow the Ethereal Jellyfish to release the spatial energy explosively at crucial moments. This could get Lin Yuan out of sticky situations.
In the past, the Ethereal Jellyfish did not have endurance-type abilities. But with its endurance-type ability, ιt would be able to stay in the battle for longer ανδ become more effective at shortening travel time.
Among the newly gained abilities, Abyss Fishing was the only one related to the Abyssal Beast bloodline.
However, Abyss Shining and Abyssal Beast Transformation were linked to the Ethereal Jellyfish’s Abyssal Beast bloodline.
Abyss Shining was a characteristic exclusive skill that most Abyssal Beasts had.
An enormous space would be pulled into the abyss when there was a large-scale invasion of Abyssal Beasts in the Sky Beyond the Clouds. They would then eliminate the lifeforms that had entered the abyss.
The large factions from all four universes would send experts to exterminate the Abyssal Beasts because they feared that the Abyssal Beasts would gather together to set off a disaster.
Abyssal Beast Transformation was an exclusive skill that enabled an Abyssal Beast to attack the main world. It was an exclusive skill that essentially sealed off a space. As a result, the entities in the space could not be removed temporarily. It increased the occupancy time of the entities.
When the Ethereal Jellyfish tapped into its new bloodline, it would be able to transform into an Abyssal Beast. Its abilities would then change into attack-, defense-, and control-type ones that increased its combat capabilities.
This exclusive skill was very similar to Chimey’s transformation abilities.
However, Lin Yuan was not satisfied with Abyssal Beast Transformation because the Ethereal Jellyfish did not serve any combat functions.
Tentacle Sacrifice Antenna Formation allowed the Ethereal Jellyfish to become an important fey that coordinated with Sky Sea.
The Ethereal Jellyfish needed to be protected. How could it ever be in danger?
Meanwhile, Abyssal Beast Domination allowed the Ethereal Jellyfish to combine its tentacles with the energy in the new bloodline to control Abyssal Beasts and turn them into its servants.
The Abyssal Beasts were extremely difficult to control and tame, but they had a myriad of abilities and stood out from the crowd.
The strong factions in the four universes frequently went on expeditions to exterminate Abyssal Beasts, but they also spent resources to round up and take control of groups of them.
If the Abyssal Beasts under Faerie Institution’s control went on a rampage, it would cause a Class A disaster.
A faction like Faerie Institution insisted on taking control of Abyssal Beasts despite knowing that they were dangerous. This was enough to prove their value.
The Ethereal Jellyfish would combine its tentacles with the new bloodline and inject it into the Abyssal Beast to take control of it.
The Ethereal Jellyfish’s tentacles would strategically move around in the Abyssal Beast’s body. Hence, it could only take control of Abyssal Beasts with a weaker bloodline than its own.
While the Ethereal Jellyfish was evolving, the Abyssal Beast it obtained externally defined its bloodline and was difficult to evolve.
Without Lin Yuan’s Body of All Spirits that could evolve the purity of the bloodline in the Ethereal Jellyfish’s body, Abyssal Beast Domination would be a useless exclusive skill!
No spirit qi professional wanted their fey to obtain a powerful ability that did not serve any practical function.
However, Lin Yuan felt that the three exclusive skills related to the Abyssal Beast bloodline could not be compared to Tentacle Strengthening.
Almost all of the Ethereal Jellyfish’s abilities came from its tentacles and antennae. When its tentacles and antennae were strengthened, all of its abilities would be enhanced.
Once the Ethereal Jellyfish’s tentacles and antennae were strengthened and the energy within was improved, not only would its teleportation abilities and distance be enhanced, but the depletion of the teleportation process would also be reduced. This would enable a tentacle to be used multiple times.
While Lin Yuan was looking through the Ethereal Jellyfish’s data, the Moon Empress sighed softly. “Little Yuan, the Ethereal Jellyfish’s divine kingdom ability isn’t bad. However, it will put you at risk.”
Lin Yuan smiled. “Master, you know how I am. I won’t put myself in danger unless absolutely necessary! But if I attain a useful ability, we will have more options when facing problems!
“If the Ethereal Jellyfish’s divine kingdom ability is used to recreate a path, there will be a large number of benefits to grab hold of. There might even be the uncovering of secrets that no one else knows about!
When the Moon Empress first found out about the Sky Beyond the Clouds and learned that Lin Yuan intended to venture into that world, she thought that he had picked an arduous path.
However, it was proven that she had underestimated him. Lin Yuan had begun accumulating energy in the main world. He had also used the experts under him to stop the invaders from plundering the main world.
The Moon Empress learned a lot about the Sky Beyond the Clouds from Lin Yuan. She knew full well why those experts had come to the main world.
If Lin Yuan had not had the ability to slaughter them, the main world would either have been destroyed by the invaders or have lost the majority of its resources.
The Radiance Federation was currently the heart of the main world and would definitely be the invaders’ main target.
The main world did not have a clear idea of the strength of Spring, Summer, Autumn, and Winter. After all, she had yet to watch them in action.
But if they had the ability to take down the invaders swiftly and without making any waves, it was proof they would also be considered exceptional even in the Sky Beyond the Clouds!
The Moon Empress did not nag at Lin Yuan to tell him to be careful. Lin Yuan was the City Lord of Sky City and had the ultimate decision-making authority. With his current power and abilities, he was able to make the right decisions.
The Moon Empress was not an old-fashioned teacher who thought she would always have to be the one teaching her disciple.
When the Moon Empress was teaching Lin Yuan, her experience and knowledge had been above his. But now, she admitted that he was more capable and stronger than her!
... In the afternoon, the Moon Empress personally cooked lunch. After lunch, the Moon Empress left for the Midnight Palace.
In the Radiance Federation’s Royal Capital, the Midnight Palace was just as famous as the Radiant Moon Palace.
The Radiant Moon Palace housed the Moon Empress, one of the Radiance Federation’s three strongest Creation Masters, while the Midnight Palace housed the Chief Guard of the Spirit Guards. Both were members of the Radiance Federation’s royalty.
The Midnight Palace sat in the north of the city and was surrounded by an enormous garden filled with statues. Despite being part of the city, the garden afforded the Midnight Palace a solemn tranquility.
The Guard Ye Banquet was held in the Midnight Palace. Normally, it was Night Leaning Moon who went to the Radiant Moon Palace to see the Moon Empress.
This was the first time that the Moon Empress visited the Midnight Palace since the Guard Ye Banquet had ended.
The Moon Empress did not ride the Freezing Moon Pagoda Carriage, which was iconic of her status. Instead, she made her way to the hidden entrance of the Midnight Palace’s garden like a regular traveler.
The entrance to the Midnight Palace’s garden was guarded. The moment the two guards spotted the Moon Empress, they instantly recognized her and bowed hurriedly.
The businesslike woman dressed in half armor hastily said, “Moon Empress, I will go and send word to the Chief Guard this instant!”
This woman had already guessed that the Moon Empress had not informed Night Leaning Moon of her visit. If she had done so, given their relationship, Night Leaning Moon would have come to the entrance to receive the Moon Empress.
The Moon Empress waved her hand. “The two of you can continue guarding this place. There’s no need to send word on my behalf. I’ll just go in to see Leaning Moon!”
Once the Moon Empress was done speaking, she morphed into a ray of moonlight and streaked through the garden before stopping at the Midnight Palace.
In the Midnight Palace’s study... A woman with black hair that fell to her hips and wearing a veil over her face was currently staring unsmilingly at the book in her hands. Her mind was someplace far away.
Night Leaning Moon was born with a silver spoon in her mouth. She was a direct descendant of her family, and they had placed high hopes in her. Her childhood and younger days were similar to that of Long Tao of Coiling Dragon’s Valley.
In her younger days, Night Leaning Moon had also been arrogant and ignorant.
However, everything changed when ‘she’ appeared. The Moon Empress did not have the support of a family and only ever relied on herself.
At first, Night Leaning Moon had not thought much of the Moon Empress.
In the first two years since becoming classmates, the Moon Empress had not stood out. There had been absolutely nothing special about her.
In the final evaluation of their third year, the Moon Empress had leaped ahead of all the rest and became first place in their class. One of those she had surpassed was Ji Changdeng, who had always butted heads with Night Leaning Moon.
It was only then that Night Leaning Moon began paying attention to this tall and cold yet delicate girl.
Night Leaning Moon’s eyes had never left the Moon Empress since. From then on, they began walking their paths side by side, deepening their bond.
Night Leaning Moon had experienced heartfelt separation twice in her life thus far.
The first time was when she learned that the Moon Empress had suffered hidden injuries and only had five years left in her lifespan. The second was when she learned that the Moon Empress intended to leave for the Sky Beyond the Clouds.
Both times, Night Leaning Moon had felt a sense of helplessness. There was nothing that terrified Night Leaning Moon more than separation. However, she had no choice but to face the music.
Previously, the separation had been filled with grief and ardent hatred for the Freedom Federation.
But this one only had unadulterated reluctance. The Moon Empress leaving for the Sky Beyond the Clouds was not as bad as her lifespan coming to an end.
But it was likely they would never be able to meet again. The decades that they had spent together were clearly etched in Night Leaning Moon’s mind and began playing through scene by scene.
Slowly, Night Leaning Moon’s gaze cleared, and she sighed woefully.
“Xiyue. Oh, Xiyue. With this goodbye, our twin souls will be pulled apart. Do you still remember my original name?”
Night Leaning Moon’s sigh was soft and gentle. The last thing she expected was a response.
At that moment, a cold voice echoed from the door of the study. “Of course, I still remember your name!”
