2729 Dagger Palm Piercing From the Back! At that point, Crimson paused, and the mocking expression became even more evident on his face.
“You are already aware of many of Tower Canon’s secrets. You probably know that the fake Eight Pages were nothing more than puppets I put in place for appearances. Didn’t you expect that I would have some sort of restraint or control over these puppets?
“I allowed Eighth Page Apoptosis to escape with so much information, some of which even included information about Epoch God Palace, because I wanted to use him to keep an eye on you!
“We actually met a long time ago. So, in a way, we are old friends! Old friends shouldn’t fight immediately after meeting. Let’s have a chat. You must be very curious about me. It just so happens that I feel the same way! Why don’t you trade some secrets with me before surrendering your life?”
Lin Yuan knew that based on his observations, Crimson probably thought very lowly of him and saw him as nothing more than an easy target. Otherwise, he would never make such a speech!
It was likely that Crimson did not register him as a threat at all. In terms of aura, their auras were of a similar level.
Crimson’s certainty that he could defeat Lin Yuan had to mean that he was hiding an extremely powerful secret weapon.
This worried Lin Yuan. However, he also had secret weapons that he had yet to use.
It was true that there were many things that he wanted to find out about.
Although killing Crimson and destroying Tower Canon would reduce it to nothing more than a piece of the main world’s history, Lin Yuan did want to learn more about who was truly pulling the strings.
Crimson had been watching him through the blood-colored tentacles he had planted in the other members of Tower Canon.
This meant that there had to be a blood-colored tentacle in Apoptosis’ body.
Luckily, three months ago, Lin Yuan had killed Apoptosis after discovering that he was causing widespread harm by consuming the vitality of living people in order to enable his sacred source lifeform’s Stars to break through.
Otherwise, if Apoptosis was still in the Radiance Federation now and under the control of the bright red tentacle, he would definitely wreak havoc in the Radiance Federation!
Lin Yuan did not know if the bright red tentacle had benefited Apoptosis’ body in any way. If it enabled Apoptosis’ body to reach a new level, there were very few people in the Radiance Federation with the power to take him on.
“You’re right. Regardless of who ends up dead, I need to obtain information on Tower Canon.”
Crimson let out a low throttle of laughter. “Tower Canon? That’s me! I am the only member of Tower Canon left!”
While he spoke, Crimson looked at the ground around his feet. “You probably want to know why Tower Canon wants to take over this Class 2 world.”
Lin Yuan snarled, “Weren’t you watching me through Falling Rainbow and Eye Shadow? You should already be aware that Falling Rainbow has told me everything.”
Crimson extended a slender finger and wagged it at Lin Yuan. “I told you. I am Tower Canon now! If their thoughts aligned with mine, how could they end up as fodder for my bloodline awakening?
“I see no value in the dead world’s roots! Now that my bloodline has been activated, I would rather absorb spirit qi than the dirty death aura. Spirit qi truly has a splendid taste. I now know why the Sky Beyond the Clouds’ universes are ruled by those fellows who use spirit qi as their roots!”
Lin Yuan frowned when he heard what Crimson said. Crimson’s goal was completely different from what Falling Rainbow had claimed it to be!
Falling Rainbow had said that they were trying to use the dead world’s roots to occupy this Class 2 world’s roots so they could recover their home.
Yet, Crimson saw the dead world’s roots as his tool and the other members of Tower Canon as sacrifices to activate his bloodline.
However, he had failed in the past because he lacked power. In this respect, it could be said that Lin Yuan had helped Crimson.
Previously, Lin Yuan saw Tower Canon as an enemy who was trying to rob the main world. He had to kill the Eight Pages of Tower Canon because they stood on opposing sides.
But now, Lin Yuan saw Crimson as callous scum who had no qualms and was willing to destroy relationships.
Relationships were extremely important to Lin Yuan, and he could not understand how Crimson could lay a hand on comrades he had spent the past few millennia with.
Lin Yuan had sensed the sorrow and disbelief Violet Light Green, Falling Rainbow, and Warbler Candle felt before they died.
Warbler Candle, Violet Light Green, Falling Rainbow, and the other members of Tower Canon had been too seriously injured to fight back against Crimson. However, the Hellfire Lotus Imprints in their bodies could strike back against Crimson.
“If my guess is right, your bloodline is linked to the Blood species. However, your bloodline isn’t pure. The real members of the bloodline don’t have those tentacles!
“The Blood species prioritizes bloodline above all else. With your current bloodline, it’s unlikely that you’ll be accepted by the other members of the Blood species even if you do return to the Sky Beyond the Clouds!”
Lin Yuan’s words hit Crimson’s sore spot, and anger spread across his face. But he quickly suppressed his rage.
Crimson did not respond to what Lin Yuan said because he believed that doing so would be admitting that he agreed with Lin Yuan. He would be admitting that he would never be accepted by the Blood species!
As a possessor of the Blood species bloodline, Crimson had always been proud of the fact that his father was a member of the Blood species. However, due to some circumstances, he also ended up in possession of the Abyssal Beast bloodline.
For other species, being able to combine the Abyssal Beast bloodline with their own was an enormous blessing.
But for the Blood species that valued bloodline over everything else, mixing bloodlines was the highest form of blasphemy.
Crimson always hated the Abyssal Beast bloodline in his body because it prevented him from being acknowledged by the Blood species.
Yet, without the Abyssal Beast bloodline, he would never have been able to use the other members of Tower Canon as his sacrifices.
Although Crimson did not respond to what Lin Yuan said, the latter could still sense that Crimson’s aura had changed.
At that moment, Crimson was incensed. Otherwise, his emotions would not be fluctuating so vigorously.
The imprint that had been on Falling Rainbow’s soul was now on Crimson’s soul.
Once a person lost their temper, they would also lose their sense of rationality.
Before Crimson could speak, Lin Yuan released his mermaid thearch aura.
“Since you used Apoptosis, Falling Rainbow, and Eye Shadow to spy on me, you should know that my bloodline has reached the mermaid thearch level!
“My bloodline is much purer than yours! Once I arrive at the Sky Beyond the Clouds, I will be acknowledged by the mermaid species while you still continue to be a pariah of the Blood species. You will still be nothing more than trash abandoned by the Blood species for having three types of bloodlines in your body!”
Lin Yuan was not a mean person. He was always extremely courteous toward others and was very uncomfortable saying such abrasive words. However, he could still utter them against an enemy!
Lin Yuan had hit Crimson’s sore spot multiple times. To the Blood species, there was no greater insult than having their bloodline attacked!
Crimson still had a fair number of questions for Lin Yuan. But now, he was in no mood to ask anything. After all, he would be able to dig out Lin Yuan’s secrets after killing him.
Crimson glared murderously at Lin Yuan as many blood-colored tentacles burst out from his body.
The tentacles rolled toward Lin Yuan and became entangled with the Abyss Red Lotus’ black roots.
The tentacles were enveloped in a special spatial energy that was very resistant to fire-elemental energy.
The Red Lotus Hellfire could not cause immediate damage to the blood-colored tentacles. However, it could deplete the spatial energy that enveloped them.
Once Crimson realized this, his expression shifted slightly, and he prepared to draw back these tentacles.
Although the tentacles existed as a form of energy, they were still a part of Crimson’s body. Once they were damaged, it would affect Crimson’s roots.
If Lin Yuan was even capable of damaging the Abyssal Beast’s abyssal energy, he had to have reached that level!
Crimson hurriedly dispelled his anger and turned serious, thinking, I shouldn’t have tried to use the abyssal tentacles I attained from the mutation of the Blood species bloodline to battle with Lin Yuan before properly understanding his power.
Lin Yuan intended to utilize all his secret weapons to kill Crimson. Hence, there was no way he would allow Crimson to draw back his tentacles.
Lin Yuan could sense that these tentacles were very important to Crimson. Otherwise, he would not have injected so much energy into these tentacles.
The blood mist spread out into the surroundings, and the entire Startling Lines Continent was shrouded in the blood mist.
However, the Red Lotus Hellfire was applied on Lin Yuan’s body, and it prevented the blood mist from getting close to him.
Still, he noticed that the blood mist could transform the elemental energy in the environment into blood energy that Crimson could absorb.
Lin Yuan had seen this ability in the dream realm when he was receiving the New Thearch’s Scale.
The Blood species turned water-elemental energy into blood energy and barraged the mermaids.
Nonetheless, there were two sides to all energy transformations. Due to Lotus Law World, the fire-elemental energy in the surroundings was extremely pure and was also under the Abyss Red Lotus’ control.
Hence, the fire-elemental energy would be transformed at a very low rate. Crimson might be able to absorb energy faster than he transformed it!
Lin Yuan had made ample preparations before this battle and had used all the water in the Element Well to concoct pure fire elements.
As such, he took out a bucket of fire-elemental energy and poured it over the Abyss Red Lotus’ flower core.
The Red Lotus Hellfire rolled over the blood mist in a terrifying manner.
The crimson flames on the Abyss Red Lotus’ black roots turned a brilliant scarlet and rose to the sky, filling the sky with lotus patterns.
When the fierce scarlet Red Lotus Hellfire made contact with the abyssal energy on the tentacles, the abyssal energy quickly melted away like ice.
After the abyssal energy was burned away, the crimson and golden Red Lotus Hellfire burned the bright red tentacles to the point of deformation.
Crimson let out a few grunts of pain. Lin Yuan could sense that Crimson was quickly gathering the energy in his body. It was clear that he was preparing to launch a counterattack.
Crimson had decided to put an end to this battle swiftly because he could sense that the Red Lotus Hellfire was placing Hellfire Lotus Imprints on his body through his tentacles.
If the Hellfire Lotus Imprint only sealed energy and Crimson was prevented from transferring energy between his body and the surroundings, he would not be as panicked as he was now. The key point was that the lotus imprints could also seal his bloodline.
The Blood species was fundamentally different from dead dimensional lifeforms.
Dead dimensional lifeforms used death energy as their cores and to fight, while the Blood species used their bloodline power to activate energy.
If his bloodline was sealed, Crimson’s ability to use his power would be affected.
At that moment, Lin Yuan activated the Hellfire Lotus Imprint in Crimson’s body. Once the Hellfire Lotus Imprint appeared, Crimson’s bloodline was immediately locked.
At the same time, the imprint on Crimson’s soul ignited with ferocious Red Lotus Hellfire that began ravaging Crimson’s soul.
Lin Yuan had used all the directly accessible methods against Crimson. If they were not enough, he would have to tap into other secret weapons!
Before he came to know of Epoch God Palace, Lin Yuan had every intention of using all his secret weapons against Tower Canon.
Although using his secret weapons would come at a cost, he would have plenty of opportunities to collect more secret weapons in the future.
But with Epoch God Palace’s presence, Lin Yuan had to preserve some of his secret weapons during combat so he would not be completely vulnerable when he eventually faced Epoch God Palace.
Crimson already guessed why so many Hellfire Lotus Imprints had appeared in his body. There were even seals on his soul. They must have come from Warbler Candle, Violet Light Green, and Falling Rainbow.
Crimson felt as though he had just fallen for Lin Yuan’s trap. He could clearly tell that Lin Yuan did not understand the Abyssal Beast’s bloodline. Otherwise, he would not have left out naming the Abyssal Beast’s bloodline when mocking his bloodline!
With this thought, Crimson decided to use his Abyssal Beast bloodline to ambush Lin Yuan.
There were many experts in the Sky Beyond the Clouds who were assassinated by members of the Abyssal Beast species.
The Abyssal Beast species was skilled at overcoming their relative weakness to achieve victory.
Crimson’s body suddenly disappeared from within the Red Lotus Hellfire and appeared behind Lin Yuan.
Crimson used his palm as a dagger and slashed down on Lin Yuan. At that moment, an explosive scream filled the space.
